Obituary: TO VIEW REMEMBERING ED SLIDESHOW (copy and paste): http://youtu.be/BLVImWF_PNw Edward Earl Wasser passed away at the age of 66 after a courageous 16-year battle with Parkinsons disease. Ed was known by all as a kind and generous man who was devoted to his family. He was born on 2, 1945 in Longview, WA to Earl and Rosemary Wasser. He grew up in the Eastmoreland neighborhood of Portland, OR where he played Little League and began a life-long love of golf. Known by friends as "Easy Ed" for his quick smile and easygoing manner, he graduated from Cleveland High School in 1963 and from the University of Oregon in 1967 where he was a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity. college, he graduated from the US Armys Officer Candidate School and served in Korea as a lieutenant in the Vietnam War. He returned to Portland and started his career in sales, married Janis Haftorson and had three children. In Portland, he worked for Proctor and Gamble, CFS Continental and Sysco. In 1989, he moved with his family to the Seattle area to become President of Sysco Seattle. At the age of 50, Ed was diagnosed with Parkinsons disease but continued to enjoy running, playing basketball and tennis. He moved back to Portland for five years to enjoy time with old friends, playing golf and poker games, traveling, and attending U of Oregon football games and reunions. In 2007, Ed returned to Seattle to be close to his children. He spent the last years of his life enjoying time with his growing family. Ed is survived by sisters Rosalie Quinn (Paul) and Carolyn Ikuta, his brother Alan Wasser, many nieces and nephews, his children Dana Tseng (Monson), Katie Runions (Adam) and Robbie Wasser (Carmen) and his five young grandchildren who brought him such joy. He will be dearly missed by us all. Eds children would like to say a special thank you to Joann and David Enge and their staff at Nordic Woods for their wonderful care and kindness the last 3½ years. In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory can be made to parkinsonsproject.org. A memorial for Ed will be held in Portland at the East Moreland Golf Club on 12th at 3:00 p.m. under the direction of Acacia Memorial Park & , Seattle, Washington. |

Obituary: Born in Seattle, Washington to Clarence and Mildred Wassberg on 4, 1930, passed away on 24, 2015. A lifelong Seattleite and Roosevelt HS graduate, Charles filled his life with teaching, music and volunteering with clubs in the area. In his early life, Charles earned a Ph.D., in Pharmacognosy and taught at the UW, PLU and North Seattle CC. As a musician, Charles was accomplished in recorders, organ, piano, harpsichord, flute and piccolo, and enjoyed playing his favorite composers, JS Bach and Sibelius. He later became the organist for five different churches in the Seattle area. Charles also enjoyed his memberships in the Swedish Club, VASA and served as the Treasurer of the Seattle Musical Arts Club. Charles will be remembered fondly by many friends in the musical community as well as his social groups. A graveside gathering will be held on , 4, 2015 at 2:00 pm Acacia Memorial Park in Seattle. Obituary: Goldie Sophie Wassam, 87 Goldie Sophie Wassam was born Sept. 23, 1923 in Arlington, WA. and died Jan. 6, 2011 in Arlington, WA. following an extended illness. She spent her early years living at Lake Goodwin. Her parents were Steven Herz of Kumrovec, Austria (now Croatia), and Sophie (Fintz) Herz, Strasbourg, Germany (now France). She attended Lakewood Elementary School and graduated in 1943 from Arlington High School. In addition to being a housewife, Goldie worked in a variety of occupations, ranging from being a homemaker to working in the advertising department of the Everett Herald, sales positions with Rumbaughs in Everett, and J.C. Penneys in Arlington. She worked several years as a professional cook at Cascade Valley Hospital, Cedarcrest Golf Course Restaurant, Arlington Retirement , and Marysville . She spent her last eight working years as a cashier at the Shell Station at I-5s Exit 206. She was a member of the Congregational Church in Arlington until 1969, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over twenty years, and very involved with the Rainbow Girls. She was an avid league bowler until 2005, and played on womens softball teams locally when she was younger. Her favorite activities over the past few years were doing word search puzzles, and watching or listening to all of the Mariners games. Goldie was married to Burke Heaton of Arlington from 1944 to 1972, and to r Wassam from 1973 to 1995, both of whom preceded her in death. She also was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Frank Gordon Herz, uncles Ivan Brose and Louis Hercigonia, and aunt Helen Staringer, in addition to her paternal grandparents George and Angela Hercigonia who lived adjacent to the family farm. Goldie is survived by her sons Dennis Heaton (Jennifer Way) of Arlington and Dale (Geri) Heaton of Tulalip, WA, three grandchildren, Leena (Douglas) Prindle, Bothell, Jennifer Park, Camano Island, and David (Ashley Austin) Heaton, Stanwood, with a total of 6 great grandchildren. Stepchildren are Ted (Jane) Wassam, Palo Alto, CA, David Wassam, Whitehall, MT, Dan Wassam, CA, and Enid Charbonneau, Chewelah, WA and numerous step-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Elsie Noack, Bellingham, WA and numerous cousins, nieces, & nephews, and by 2 older aunts, Angie Sedy and Goldie Brose, both of Arlington. A memorial service is planned for , , 29, 2011, at 1:00 PM, at Our Saviours Lutheran Church, 615 E. Highland Drive, in Arlington, WA. Memorial Donations may be made to Childrens Hospital in Seattle. A private interment of her ashes will be at a later date, beside the remains of her late husband, r, at Willamette Military , Portland, OR. under the direction of Purdy & Walters with Cassidy , Everett, WA. |
