Obituary: Richard Tyson Wood 76 of Phoenix, Arizona passed away suddenly in his home on 21st, 2017. Born in Oxford, North Carolina to his parents James R. Wood and Lillian M. Bragg on 2nd, 1940. Richard is survived by his daughter Julie Lynn Dybus, her husband Koch Dybus, his son Robert Tyson Wood, his stepdaughter Cynthia Marie Kissenburger, brothers Michael Wood and James R. Wood, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Richard loved the good things in life. Richard was a multi-tasker. He worked in the Smithsonian, he ran a trash company from here he became a musician playing the drums. He became his own boss when he went into Real Estate. He loved to travel, he loved racing his car and racing his motorcycle. Richards biggest achievement was when he turned 32 years old and found the Lord Jesus Christ as his savior. He became an Evangelist who wanted to save people and bring them to the Lord. No matter where he was he was doing the Lords work. He would stop people and simply ask, Do you know where you are going? He handed out tracks and his personal card he had printed up and said, If you want to talk just call me. Richard will be missed by so many. He also knew that when this day would come he would be rejoicing up in heaven with his Lord Jesus Christ, Amen. |

Obituary: Rebecca D. Wood, 84, of Richmond, passed quietly in her home at Lakewood Manor on , 13, 2011. She was born 11, 1927 in Wakefield, Va., to the late Butler Guy and Estelle Drewery. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Raymond C. Wood, two sons, Christopher Guy Wood of Richmond, and Jeffrey Ray Wood, of Roanoke. Two grandchildren, Michael C. Wood, Stacey L. Roberts, and one great grandchild, Trenton D. Wood, and her sister in law, Ella W. Johnson. She attended Westhampton High School and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and went on to Pan American Business . She loved working at Thalhimers and later as secretary to the University of Richmond Librarian. She was a member of the Westhampton Junior Womens Club, and University of Richmond Friends of the Library. She enjoyed fishing and beach combing at the family home on the Rappahannock River, and collected many cats and books over her lifetime. Becky was a dedicated member of Ridge Baptist Church where she taught generations of school girls. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7pm, on , 17, at the Parham Chapel of Woody , 1771 N. Parham Road, Richmond. Services will be held at 10:30am, on , 18, at Ridge Baptist Church, 1515 Eastridge Rd, Richmond, VA 23229. Interment to follow at 3pm, at Harmony Grove Baptist Church, 7722 General Puller Highway, Topping, VA 23169. Obituary: Raymond C. Wood, 90, of Richmond passed peacefully on , 30, 2015 surrounded by family. He was born 26, 1924 in Cooper, Virginia to the late Wilda Blake and Philip Christopher Wood. He was preceded in death by his adored wife, Rebecca D. Wood. He is survived by two sons, Christopher Guy Wood and daughter-in-law, Lynn F. Wood of Richmond; and Jeffrey Ray Wood and daughter-in-law, Nancy A. Maurelli of Roanoke, Virginia; two grandchildren, Michael C. Wood and Stacey L. Roberts; two great-grandchildren, Trenton D. Wood and Samantha L. Roberts; and his sister, Ella W. Johnson. He graduated from Syringa High School in 1942 and went on to attend Smithdeal Massey Business before enlisting in the U.S. Navy in 1943 at the age of 19. Ray served his country during WW II as yeoman on board the USS Flint in the Pacific Theatre. Following WW II, he moved to Richmond to hone his sales skills at Sears & Roebuck while courting, and eventually marrying his childhood sweetheart, Becky Drewery. retiring from Sears, Ray brought his sales expertise to Century 21 and embarked on a highly successful second career in real estate sales. He was an avid University of Richmond basketball fan, and could be found in his same seat for many seasons cheering the Spiders on! He was a long-time member of the Tuckahoe Masonic Lodge and a dedicated member of Ridge Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and financial advisor. However, his greatest joy in life was spending time with his lifelong best friend and wife, Becky, at his boyhood home on the banks of the Rappahannock River where he could spot (and catch!) a soft-shell blue crab nestled in the mud below three feet of water. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on , May 3, at the Parham Chapel of Woody , 1771 N. Parham Road, Richmond. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on , May 4, at Ridge Baptist Church, 1515 Eastridge Rd., Richmond. Interment will follow at 3 p.m. at Harmony Grove Baptist Church, 7722 General Puller Highway, Topping, Virginia.
