Obituary: On 20, 2015 Heaven opened up and God welcomed one of his most treasured children into his arms. Muriel Jane Wheeler Waldorf was an amazing wife, Mother, Nonnie, and friend. She was born 17, 1929 to James and Lizzy Wheeler. She was the oldest of three daughters. Her two younger sisters Jean Hunter and Anne Hughes have both preceded her in death along with the only man she ever loved, Wilson (Buddy) Waldorf, her husband of 45 years. Muriel graduated from Scottsville High School in 1946. During that time she lived with her Aunt and Uncle and a cousin who had always been like a brother, Chub Walsh. She then attended Madison (JMU). Her time here was cut short when she met the love of her life. Together they pastored many churches, including Effort Baptist, Liberty Baptist, and Woolen Mills. She also worked as a secretary for Belmont Baptist Church, and then later served as church treasurer. Muriel is was an active member of Belmont Baptist Church. She has loved and been loved through the years by so many pastors and friends, that she considered family. Muriel worked at Standard Drug (CVS) for 45 years, and yet people would still stop her and say they remember her sweet smile from her working behind the counter. She retired in 1992 to take care of her ailing husband until his death in 1994. Muriel is survived by her loving daughter Cindy Gentry and her fiancé Mark MgGehee; grandsons, Cody Fowler, Andrew Gentry, and Gregory Gentry all whom she absolutely adored and were the light of her life; nieces, Ann Gun and her husband Jim and their children Olen and Whitney, Betty Jane and her husband Chuck and their children Amy and Jenna, Peggy Stroud, Mary Jo Comardo, and Leslie Comardo who preceded her in death, Jean Black, Debbie, Norris, and Mary Waldorf; and nephews, Randy Hughes and his children Andrew and Marissa, Timmy Hughes and his wife Darlene and their child Chrissy, Tommy Hughes and his wife Laura and their child Conner, Paul Comardo and his wife Jill, Eddie Hunter who preceded her in death, Rod Waldorf, Richard Waldorf, and Peter Waldorf. She is also survived by many more extended family members who have enriched her life as Muriel did theirs. She was a remarkable woman who used very few words, but lived out a gentle and kind spirit in her love for the Lord. Our lives are all better for having her in them; and, we will be forever changed by her passing. A funeral service will be conducted 3:00pm , 22, 2015 at Belmont Baptist Church with Reverend Greg Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Hill Baptist Church in Stanardsville, Virginia. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7pm on , 21, 2015 at Teague . |
