Obituary: Carl Taliaferro Woolsey, M.D., age 95, died May 5, 2015 of heart failure, with loving family by his side.Born 7, 1919, the third son of four children of Florence Garland Havenor and Ray T. Woolsey, M.D. Carl attended Salt Lake City schools, graduated from the University of Utah, and completed the University of Utah two-year medical school. He transferred to Washington University at St. Louis, from which he received his M.D. internship, Carl became a Navy Medical Officer assigned to MTB-Ron 26 in World War II. Following discharge from the Navy, Carl completed a four-year residency in OB-GYN at St. Louis Maternity & Barnes Hospital. He returned to Salt Lake to join his father in the practice of OB-GYN at St. Mark's Hospital. His son, Carl T. Woolsey, Jr., M.D, later joined him - three generations of Woolsey OB-GYNs at St. Mark's - of which he was very proud. The second three-generations in the same profession, of which he was equally proud, were wife Connie, son Jim, and granddaughter Marianne. All three received Master of Social Work degrees from the University of Utah of Social Work.Carl was a charter member and Elder of Wasatch Presbyterian Church, a charter member of the Utah Westerners, and a 73 year Mason of Acacia Lodge, No. 17, F&AM, a founding member of the Cottonwood Country Club, and a member of the Beta Theta Pi Fraternity. He loved the outdoors, especially the marsh. Since 1958 he has belonged to the New State Duck Club. He gardened, liked to run the snow blower, took lots of pictures, and enjoyed having a drink and telling lies with his friends, relatives, and neighbors.His most cherished blessing was his on-going love affair with his family.Carl married Constance (Connie) Ethyl Mortensen in 1940. had five children and lived in Salt Lake City for 22 years before moving to Rossie Hill in Park City. During the 34th year of their exceptional loving marriage, Connie died suddenly of a ruptured cerebral aneurysm.In 1976, Carl married Donna LaRue Behunin. She became a grandmother of five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. lived on Rossie Hill for 32 years before having to move back to Salt Lake City. During the 34th year of their exceptional loving marriage, Donna died suddenly of a ruptured cerebellar aneurysm.Carl is survived by his sons Carl T. Woolsey, Jr., M.D. (Joyce Williams) and William Craig "Bill" Woolsey (Carolyn Williams), along with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Samantha (Jon Ball), Dani, Ella and Charlotte; Marianne (Oscar Wood Moyle, IV) , Ocky; Tina (Mill Bulanon), Robert Taliaferro, Reggie; Connie Woolsey; Adam James Woolsey (Christine Westman), A.J., Zoe, and Izak; and his sister, Florence Rae Woolsey Johnson of Santa Rosa, California. He was preceded in death by twin brothers Wayne Robert and William Ray, his parents, his wives Connie and Donna, his sons Jim and Bob, and daughter Ann.There will be an opportunity for friends to meet with family at the viewing, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 Highland Drive, on , May 14 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. services will be held at Wasatch Presbyterian Church, 1626 South 1700 East, on , May 15 at 1:00 p.m.In lieu of flowers please donate to the charity of your choice |

Obituary: Ranald Mills Woolley Jr. passed away on 21, 2015 at the age of 99 of natural causes. Ray was born 26, 1916 in Magna Utah to Ranald Mills and Sarah Brown Woolley Sr.. He married Maurine Forbush in the Salt Lake Temple together they had 3 sons; Ranald Brent (Danielle) , A. Mark (Dana) and Kimball Forbush (Madelian) Woolley. Maurines passing on Nov. 25, 1983 Ray married Betty (Henry) Catten on 1, 1985. With Rays 3 boys and Bettys 4 boys; Larry (Debbie) Catten, Dale (Patty) Catten, Joe Catten and Brad (Valerie) Catten. they had a wonderful posterity of 22 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren. Ray will be greatly missed. Ray served in World War II as a demolition expert where he liberated the Jewish concentration camps and received three bronze stars and two medals of Honor along with other accomplishments. He retired from the Tooele Army Depot as an architect, draftsman and engineer where he designed plants that made bombs and ammunition along with plants that disarmed bombs and burned the explosives and gas. He will best be known for his countless services to others and his love for his children and grandchildren. He is also known for his candy and pecan logs, The Candy Man, and his woodworking abilities. He is survived by his wife, Betty, children, grandchildren, brother, William Grant Woolley , sister, Lucy Mae (Woolley) Perry. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Maurine, brothers; Joe F. Woolley, Frank Woolley, sisters ; Evelyn Mary Farr, Lyle Kimball Atkinson, Sarah Marie Shaffer. will be held 11 am 30, 2015 at the Spencer 4th Ward ,8181 West Breeze Drive, Magna, Utah. Viewings will be 6-8 pm at the Peel , 8525 W Magna Main St. (2700 S. ) and 10-10:45 am at the church prior to services. Ray will be greatly missed by all.
