Obituary: Norma Shumway Barton Wengreen Norma Shumway Barton Wengreen, 85, died , 14, 2010, in Provo, Utah. She was born in Moab, Utah, to Harris & Esther Price Shumway, 14, 1925. She grew up in Blanding, Utah. graduating from San Juan High School in 1943, she worked at the Navy Defense Plant in Clearfield, Utah until she left to fulfill a mission in Northern California. returning home from her mission she worked with the stake and full time missionaries. One of the highlights of this was teaching school to the Indian children who lived in Hogans, West of Blanding. There she worked with Albert R. and Gladys Lyman who were in charge of the stake mission and also Lenn Shumway, a full time missionary. She served in the Navajo Zuni Mission for six months. Norma married Evan Hewitt Barton (deceased) in the Mesa, Arizona Temple in 1950, for time and all eternity. To that union was born 8 children: Bodell Esplin/Mark, Callie Wilcox/Blair, Kymm Story/Dave, Becky Iler/Dave, Jed Barton/Jill, Audra Topham/Keith, Jann Hamson/Paul & Leonard Barton/Shannon. In 1969, Norma married Dean Wengreen in the Logan Temple for time. To that union was born a daughter, Tona Davenport/John. She was also mother to Dean’s children: Stuart Wengreen/Brenda, Debra Johnson/Jay, Cory Wengreen/Devin, Shelly Jackson/Eric, Krissy Wilson/Kim, Leslie Ferguson/Scott, Jeff Wengreen/Kathy, Syd Wengreen/Kim, Angie Churchill, Spencer Wengreen/Kris, David Wengreen (deceased)/Molly & Mark Wengreen/Beth. She has 87 grandchildren and over 50 great-grandchildren. services will be held at 1:00 p.m. , 20, 2010, at the Sharon Park 2nd Ward Chapel, 225 East 200 North, Orem. Family and friends may call evening, 19, 2010, from 6-8 p.m. at the Walker Sanderson , 646 East 800 North, Orem and from 11:30-12:45 p.m. prior to the services at the church. The burial will be held , 22, 2010, at the Eastland . Prior to the burial there will be a funeral held at the Chapel in Eastland, Utah, starting at 1:00 p.m. |

Obituary: Elizabeth Brooke Memmott Wendel, age 46, loving mother, daughter, sister and friend was taken suddenly on 18, 2014 in Salt Lake City due to multiple medical conditions.Brooke was born 2, 1967 in Twin Falls, Idaho to Mark L. Memmott and Liz DeArmon Memmott. She lived the majority of her life in Utah where she graduated from Brighton High School and for over twenty-five years, she was employed as a surgical technician for a renowned Utah surgeon.She married Marcus Wendel on May 30th 1992 and they were blessed with two children: Hunter Wendel and MacGuire (Mac) Wendel.Brooke loved many things: her job in medicine, animals, cooking, her children, family and people from all walks of life. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents. She is survived by her husband, children, parents and step-daughter Erica Wendel. Also by her sisters; Cindie Richards and Cindy Andrews of Salt Lake City and Julie McCallum of Nashville, Tennessee. As well as an extended family of cousins, uncles, aunts, nieces, and nephews. Brooke always had a quick smile and wry observations about life as she saw it. She was first to help if someone needed it and always caring for others. She particularly loved her dogs. Brooke's heart was always open for any animal in need.Services will be 22nd at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary 3401 South Highland Drive in Salt Lake City at 11 am. Viewings will be held from 6-8pm and on one hour prior to the service. Interment to follow at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park |
