Obituary: OBITUARY OF THELMA MAE HARDY WITHERS Thelma Mae Hardy Withers of Liberty City passed on , 8, 2015. She was 92 years of age. Mrs. Withers was born to Keith and Thelma Myona Hardy on 10, 1923, in Shattuck, Oklahoma. She was the second child and the oldest daughter of eight children. Her earliest years were spent in Ellis , Oklahoma, where her parents farmed. In the early 1930s, the family moved to the West Texas oil fields and ultimately to East Texas during Kilgores oil boom. Thelma Mae Hardy attended both Leveretts Chapel and Kilgore High Schools. high school, she worked at the Laird Hill Post Office and met Ruben Withers. The couple married on 29, 1942, Ultimately, they were blessed with 5 children, 10 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Withers was employed by Thornhill Publishing of Kilgore and retired as Executive Secretary to the Manager of Chevron Oils local offices in 1988. She was preceded in death by her husband in , 1986; by her parents, Keith and Thelma Hardy; by her brothers, Forrest and Clarence Hardy; and by her sisters, Stella Shelton and Margaret Harmon. She is survived by her children: Jean Withers and spouse John Booker of Seattle WA; Steve Withers and spouse Cynthia of Price TX; Carol Farrar of Keller TX; Mike Withers and spouse Becky of Webb City MO; and Jim Withers and spouse Barbara of Longview TX--the family has grown to include 10 grandchildren: Victoria Booker-Withers of Seattle, Jessica Richardson of Arlington, Jonathan Farrar of North Richland Hills, Natalie Neal of Wickenburg AZ, Ben Withers of Carthage MO, Sarah Rabel of Webb City MO, Matt Withers of Carthage MO, Stephanie Freed of Columbus OH, Stacy Withers of Canal Winchester OH and Jamie Robinson of South Bend IN. Additionally, Mrs. Withers leaves 17 great grandchildren born to these grandchildren: Steven, Lex, Sienna, Brooke, Bailey, Laila, Alex, Sydney, Arewyn, Kami, Austin, Riley, TJ, Evelyn, Jaxon, Bella, and Gwendolyn. A celebration of her life will be held at 4:00 p.m., , 13, 2015 at the Chapel of Lakeview , Longview, TX with a time of visitation with the family starting at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A private family interment will be held at Lakeview Memorial Gardens. |

Obituary: Patricia Marlene Withers, better known as Marlene or Maw, passed away on 21, 2011 peacefully in her home in La Porte, TX at the age of 75. Marlene was born and raised in Ft. Worth, TX on 27, 1935 and lived her life as a caring wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Kenneth Withers, siblings Muriel Hart, Priscilla Peers and Malcolm Tallmon, her children Kenny Withers, Jennifer Windham and husband Mike, Richard Withers and wife Eva, also her grandchildren Kristen, Joshua and Caleb. Marlene dedicated her life to the Lord and her family. She was a member and school teacher for many years at Bayshore Baptist Church of La Porte, TX. In her spare time she loved gardening and spending time with her family. She will be missed dearly by all family and friends.
