Obituary: Benjamin Frank Winslow, 86, passed away on , 28, 2015 after a battle with Alzheimers disease. He was born in Waterloo, Iowa to Neal and Margaret (Eicher) Winslow on 4, 1928. Ben is survived by his wife of 64 years, Maria, their son Bradford Neal and his wife Robin, their daughter Lori and her husband David Brenner, grandsons Keith Barnes and Matthew, and six nieces and four nephews. As children, Ben and his sister Leatrice were accomplished unicyclists performing as The Cycling Winslows. Managed by their father, they toured the country to entertain at fairs and special club events. were both still capable of riding a unicycle even into their eighties. Benjamin graduated from Waterloo High School, he served in the Marine Corps as a signal operator in Guam and China. He returned and attended Ellsworth in Iowa Falls, IA where he met Maria. Ben continued his studies at Luther in Decorah, IA graduating in 1952. He taught junior high school math and science classes and coached basketball, football and wrestling. moving to Michigan he became involved with the high school vocational education program in Muskegon. He later received a masters degree at the University of Michigan in vocational education. The family moved to Niles where he spent the remainder of his career as the Director of er and Vocational Education Program for high school students in Berrien , MI. He received an award for outstanding leadership while serving as President of the Michigan Council of Vocational Administrators in 1976. In his various teaching and educational roles, Ben impacted the future careers and lives of many of his students. Ben especially loved fly fishing: he would stand in a stream for hours with his fly rod. He was also very capable with his hands: he could fix anything and enjoyed remodeling their different homes. Ben and Maria loved to travel and would spent time on long trips in their motorhome seeing the country and visiting friends and family. spent winters in Florida for sixteen years escaping the cold Michigan winters but enjoyed the summer months in their home in Whitehall overlooking White Lake. Benjamin was always active in community service, including various leadership roles in the Lions Club, president of his Good Sam RV club, as well as many church-related roles and programs. When Alzheimers set in, Ben and Maria moved to Plano, TX to be close to their daughters family where he spent the remainder of his life. He received excellent care at The Legacy and through Hospice Compassus. A memorial service will be held on , 26 at 5:00pm at Preston Meadow Lutheran Church in Plano, Texas. Obituary: Being a hero isn always about super powers or saving the world. Heroes are loved. Heroes are role models. Heroes make history. Heroes also have heroes. Charles Wayne Winslett was born in Huntsville, Texas on 17,1947 to Elmer Joseph Winslett and Doris Juanita Winslett , and passed away on Janurary 12, 2016 at the age of 68. graduating from Conroe High School in 1968 he married his childhood sweetheart Donna White. Wayne and Donna went on to have four children. He proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War, and with skills earned went on to support his family as a master mechanic. He pursued his goal of becoming a Law Enforcement Officer starting in 2001, with receiving top gun of his class, every time. He had an extreme passion for projects and enjoyed spending time with his family. his retirement, he spent his free time tinkering in his garage with many things like leather crafting, making knives out of steel, and making unique furniture. He also began learning to play the guitar. In addition to his extreme crafts, he told amazing stories and was a random joker. For example, how his stoned shark teeth can keep you away from vampires in Russia or pull up your britches to his grandbabies. Til this day, where ever you e at, hell be looking down seeing all the light in our lives with John Wayne of course. Obituary: Lillian Doris Cage Winship was born on 12, 1914 in Bishop Texas and died peacefully in her sleep, on 24, 2012. She was the daughter of James Duncan Cage and Jimmie Lenora Kellam, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Glenn Eldon Winship; her son, Glenn Eldon Winship Jr.; sister Virginia Cage Swartz; brothers, Richard Grady Cage of Falfurrias and Robert Carol Cage of Eagle Pass and nieces, Phyllis Swartz Karcher and LaDelle Winship Tulley and nephew, Douglas Winship. Lillian attended grade school at Eleanor Breckenridge and moved to Alamo Heights in the fourth grade, where she, her children and grandchildren all attended and graduated. She graduated in 1931. Lillian met her husband to be, Glenn Winship while attending San Antonio Junior . She was happily married to the love of her life for 59 years. Lillian and Glenn loved their family and always put them first. enjoyed hosting family celebrations and holidays at their home. Extended family and friends would gather for these family dinners, Easter egg hunts and back yard swimming parties. Lillian was a shrewd bridge player, an avid follower of sports, frequent world traveler, and she and Glenn loved entertaining and traveling with their grand children. hosted many gatherings of friends and family for hunting and fishing parties at their ranch home, Los Nopales, in El Indio, Texas. In her later years Lillian proved herself to be an excellent needle point artist. Christmas stockings for each of her children, and grandchildren; then for each of her great-grandchildren, then for the nieces, she never stopped planning and working. She was blessed with good eyesight and the dexterity that allowed her to continue to do this work, use her computer, follow sports and politics, read good books, and live in her own home until she died. With the help of her niece, Sylvia Flannery, she was able to share the maintenance and companionship of her precious dog, Jingles until she died. She was a member of Alamo Heights United Methodist Church, PEO AL chapter, and the Argyle Club. She is survived by her daughters, Diana Eyestone and husband, David of San Antonio, Janice Kizer of San Antonio; daughter-in-law, Barbara Winship of San Antonio; granddaughters, Lauren Rudd and husband, Paul of Austin, Kimberly Brienzi and husband, Frank of Austin, Michelle Edwards and her husband, Brian of San Antonio, Rebecca Kizer of San Antonio; grandsons, Jim Kinzie and his wife, Susan of Lantana, Tom Kinzie of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Glenn Winship and his wife, Tiffany of San Antonio, ten great-grandchildren, Jessica and Hunter Rudd of Austin, Connor Kinzie of Lantana, Luke Brienzi of Austin, Gage and Garrett Edwards of San Antonio, Alexis, Logan, Jack and Pierce Winship of San Antonio, and many much loved and appreciated nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank George Harris, who for many years, made her garden beautiful, and Phyllis Lott, Tara Jones, Cheryl Thompson, Mary Broner, Maria Bresno, whose thoughtful care was deeply appreciated and made her independent life style possible. The family would like to send a special word of thanks to Dr. Michael Blanchett and Sister Maureen with Christus Santa Rosa Hospice.
