Obituary: Paul Eugene Williams passed away on , 20, 2009 after an eighteen-month battle with a rare cancer. Pauls quick wit, hearty laugh, sharp intellect, sound judgment, and gentlemanly ways will be missed by all who knew him. Paul was born on 23, 1933, in Kansas City, Kansas, to Art and Vetta Williams, but moved to San Antonio when he was a young child. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1951, where he was a member of the football team that won State in 49; attended Texas A&M , where he was a Distinguished Student, and graduated from St. Marys University with a bachelors degree in Accounting in 1956. He married Johanna Jody Dalton in 1957 and welcomed the births of daughter, Pam and son, Brad in the 1960s. In 1966, Paul and two other CPAs established the accounting firm of Thompson, Williams, Biediger, Kastor and Young, from which he retired in 2003. At the time of his death, he was a consultant with the firm. Paul was a member of the Church of Christ for 52 years, attending San Pedro, Northside, Sunset Ridge, and Oak Hills churches during those years. He was predeceased by his parents and his two brothers, Lt. Col. James D. Williams of Copperas Cove and Arthur Ray Williams of Houston. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Jody; his daughter, Pam Galindo and her husband Raul, of San Antonio; his son, Brad and wife Noelle, of Dallas; and four grandchildren, Hayley and Hannah Galindo and Ethan and Carter Williams. The family will receive friends beginning at 1 oclock afternoon, 24, 2009 at Porter Loring on McCullough followed by a service at 2 oclock. Interment will be in Mission Burial Park North following the service. |

Obituary: Patty Ruth Williams passed away on May 10, 2014, just 6 days shy of her 95th birthday. She was born on May 16, 1919 to Robert and Lillie Mae Bufkin in Greenville, TX. She was married to the late Douglas Lafoy Williams on 21, 1940 for 44 years until his passing on Jan. 10, 1984. Patty is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Lillie Bufkin, her husband, brothers: Bill, Carl and Jack Bufkin and one sister, Billie Sue Dodson. Patty retired from Terrell State Hospital where she worked as a mental health worker on the Child& Adolescent Unit, an occupation she truly enjoyed. Obituary: Patsy Anne Porter Williams, age 80, died very peacefully on 28, 2017 in her home in Tyler after a valiant fight against cancer. Patsy was born in the small East Texas town of Jasper, Texas on 16, 1936 to Lexie Faye Hancock Porter and John Winfield Porter. She attended Jasper schools through 11th grade, Tyler schools for 12th grade, Tyler Junior for 2 years, and then received her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and her Master's degree in Library Science from the University of Texas at Austin. While attending Tyler High School Patsy was reacquainted with a boy, who was also from Jasper, named Jerry Jean Williams. This boy became the man Patsy would marry in 1963. As a young woman of 25, Patsy had a chance many of us have only dreamed of. In an adventure never forgotten, Patsy flew across the world to Thailand to live and work as an English teacher for children. Although she thoroughly loved her time over there, she always recalled how happy she was when she flew into New York City and saw the Statue of Liberty on the 4th of 1962. Patsy and Jerry had 3 children during the course of their marriage, Amy, Holly, and John. Patsy was very close to all 3 of her children and made it her life's mission to provide support and guidance to them. Even after losing her husband Jerry after 25 years of marriage to complications associated with polio, Patsy found the courage to continue to be the strength and the backbone of her family. Her children knew they could "call Mom" for help and she would provide anything within her ability. Patsy had a long and industrious career as a librarian. She worked at several different libraries over the years including Winona School District (Elementary, Middle, and High Schools), Thomas K Gorman High School, Tyler Junior , Tyler Public Library, UT Tyler, and John Tyler High School to name a few. Patsy was also a lifelong pianist, who played at several local churches including Walter Fair UMC, Glenwood UMC, and Fairwood UMC. Survivors include daughter Amy and husband Craig Schar of Austin, Holly Williams of Tyler; son John and wife Tina Williams of Tyler; and grandson Gage Williams of Tyler. The family always knew what a generous and loving person she was and all loved her very much, as did the many friends she touched along the way. An excerpt from a dear friend's tribute to Patsy states "Patsy has a good and caring heart. She was blessed with fine intelligence and an abiding faith. Those who have been fortunate to have their lives touched by her will treasure warm memories of her spirit". She will be missed by many, but they are comforted to know that she is in the arms of God. Visitation will be held May 3 from 6-8 p.m. at Lloyd James home. Services are scheduled for , May 4 at 2:00 p.m. at Fairwood United Methodist Church, 1712 Old Omen Road, with Rev. Benjamin West officiating. Graveside services and interment will follow at Tyler Memorial with Rev. Benjamin West officiating under the direction of Lloyd James . Pallbearers will be Gage Williams, Craig Schar, Steve Williams, J. Cody Mize, Joshua Snook, and Wylie Vonner. |
