Obituary: Linda Gayle Williams passed away peacefully at home on , 17, 2016 in Houston, TX, after a long, courageous struggle with Parkinsons disease. Born 24, 1942 in McCamey, TX, she is preceded in death by her parents Andrew James and Beulah Lucile Shaw. Survivors include her husband Robert Jay (Bob) Williams Jr., son Robert Jay Williams III and his life partner Paul Baez, daughter Andrea Gayle Silver, grandchildren Andrew, Jay, Jared and Aiden Silver, and Megan and Matthew Baez-Williams. Also survived by her brother Andrew James (Jim) Shaw Jr. and his wife Debra of Austin, TX. Linda grew up in west Texas, graduating from Snyder High School and then Abilene Christian . She began her teaching career at Frostwood Elementary in Spring Branch, moving to Clear Lake City and later to Friendswood, TX, to continue teaching at Westwood Elementary while raising her family. Linda is remembered by her former fellow teachers and students as being thorough, professional, and most caring of her students. While teaching was her professional passion, Linda was first and foremost a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother (Mimi). retiring, Linda spent her remaining years enjoying family, friends, church, travel, and the simple pleasures of life. Along with family, she cherished her life-long circle of friends in the GATA sorority, several bridge groups, the Bunco Gals, and her close friends. Linda received outstanding personalized care from two wonderful physicians, Dr. Kimberly and Dr. Donna Dolle. During the last few years, Linda enjoyed visits from family and friends, and developed very special relationships with her caregivers, especially Ramona Woodard and Myra Robinson. Special thanks goes to the wonderful hospice team at A-Med of Texas City who provided excellent care to Linda at home during her final days. We have lost a gentle, loving soul, but Linda is finally at peace. A memorial service celebrating Lindas life will be held at 3:00 PM on , 24, 2016 at Forest Park East , 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, TX 77598. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinsons Research or to the charity of your choice. Condolences may be offered via the Forest Park East website. |
