Obituary: Deacon Boddie B Williams Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of one of His saints Boddie B Williams, Jr. was born 83 years ago, 21, 1928, to Boddie, Sr. and Edna L. Williams, in Carnegie, Pennsylvania. He left this earth to be with our Lord and Savior on , 10, 2011, at 1:40 p.m. in Round Rock, Texas. 63 years ago he met his beautiful and devoted wife, Nina Lee Williams whom he courted and then married on 23, 1951 and this past they celebrated 60 years of marriage. Boddie was a member of the One Way Baptist Church in Round Rock, Texas, Bernard Buhl, Pastor. Boddie gave his life to the Lord in 1983 and he served as an active Deacon and member of White Lily Baptist Church, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Kelvin C Brooks, Pastor, until he and Nina relocated to Texas, in 2008 where most of their children and grandchildren now reside. Boddie is an honorary lifetime Deacon and member of the White Lily Baptist Church in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Deacon Boddie retired as a Foreman from J & L Steel Mill in Pittsburgh, PA after 39 years of dedicated service. He began working there at age 16 working and attending school until age 18 when he enlisted in the U.S. Army occupational forces during WWII. He served in the European theatre from 1946 - 1948. He was Honorably discharged and went back to work for J & L Steel until his retirement in 1985. Deacon Boddie graduated from the Hardy Bible School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1995 and in healthier times, he filled his days after retirement tirelessly performing volunteer work for the Church, several communities throughout the Pittsburgh area and the children. Something he said frequently and really meant was God bless the children. Boddie had a passion for children and made room in his heart for all of them. He had a gift for making each one feel as if they were special. He was affectionately known as Junior, Uncle Junior Pap and Pap-Pap to his family. Boddie amazingly remembered all birthdays of all his children, grandchildren, cousins, siblings, nieces and nephews, even in his later years. Boddie the Nurturer was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, who lived his life taking care of others, giving of his time and talents to bring a ray of sunshine into someones life and he gave selflessly of his treasures. Yes Boddie, you were a winner and now your work is done and you shall receive the ultimate reward of everlasting life and we shall rejoice in the Lord for your victory, for your life legacy and praise God for all the wonderful memories you leave us with. Deacon was the 8th child of 10 and he is preceded in death by his parents and 8 siblings. He leaves behind to celebrate his life, His wife, Nina L. Williams, his elder sister, Dr. Ruth C. Wilson of Cincinnati, Ohio. Boddie will be truly missed but lovingly remembered by his 4 children, Leonard Stevenson, (wife, Michelle) of Round Rock, TX, James E. Williams (wife, Eileen) of Pittsburgh, PA, Diane C. Holland (Husband, Harold) of Euless, TX and Nancy P. Little (Husband, Howard) of Round Rock, TX and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation will be held on , 15, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks , 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660. services will be at 11:00 a.m. , 16, 2011 at the One Way Baptist Church, 2107 Hairy Man Road, Round Rock, Texas 78681.
