Obituary: Jack H. Wilkinson, passed away on 2, 2014, age 89. Jack was a coach, science teacher of the year, and was inducted into the El Paso Athletic Hall of Fame. He played football for Odessa High School and was all district. He served 3 years in WWII in the Pacific Theatre. Jack graduated from Texas Western , lettered 4 years in football and played in 2 Sun Bowls. He received his masters in PE, was published and spent twenty two summers working as a right-of-way agent for the El Pas Natural Gas . Jack is survived by his wife Betty of 62 years, son JJ (Kim) daughter Zella(Gary) and grandsons Matthew (Megan) Christopher, Zachary, Grant and great grandchildren Jacob and Ava. Obituary: services for Howard Neal Wilkinson, 80, of Kempner, will be 10 a.m. , 9, 2011 at First Baptist Church Copperas Cove with Dr. Mark Kemp leading the service and Bro. Noel Schnitz leading the singing. Burial will follow in the Smith of Kempner. Howard N. Wilkinson went to be with our Lord on , 4, 2011. He was born to Howard and Minnie Wilkinson in Archie, LA on 30, 1930. He graduated from Bolton High in Alexandria, LA. He met his wife, Pauline, while working for Western Union in Monroe, LA. He enlisted in the Army in 1949, and rose to the rank of Command Sergeant Major. He retired from the US Army after 22.5 years. He then ran his own business, Evins Personnel Consultant for 25 years before retiring. He has been blessed by the First Baptist Church Copperas Cove where he and Pauline have been members since 1963 and have made many friends. Survivors include his wife, Pauline; daughters, Patti Leal, Alecia Austin and Martha Wells, and son Michael Wilkinson; grandchildren, Will Austin, Christina Romine, Katharine Leal, Trista Wilkinson, Sasha Wilkinson, and Alex Wilkinson; and 5 great grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters; Jessie Beard and Midge Fuqua and brother Hardy Wilkinson. A time of visitation will be evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Crawford-Bowers of Copperas Cove. |

Obituary: Grace Lorene Wilkinson went to be with her Lord and Savior on morning, 25. Visitation will be at Memorial Chapel in Bryan on evening from 5 - 7 PM and memorial services on at 10:30 AM. Grace was born in Grenola, KS on 15, 1934 to Charles and Wilma Harp. She was one of eight siblings in her family. She grew up in the southeastern Kansas town of Cedar Vale and graduated from Cedar Vale High School. She married her husband, Vern Wilkinson on 14, 1953. Grace excelled in book keeping and worked in businesses in the Wichita, KS and the Tulsa, OK areas. Grace and Vern moved to Bryan in 2001 where she began work with the Texas A&M system in AgriLife Research. She retired in 2011. Grace made her decision to follow Christ and was baptized in 1954 and actively served the Lord till her death. She supported her husbands ministries in Kansas and Oklahoma and dearly loved singing southern gospel with her husband. Survivors include her husband, Vern Wilkinson; a brother, Lowell Harp in Cedar Vale, KS; a sister, Sharon Winsel in Kimberly City, MO. A daughter; Twila Runyon and husband,Ron, in Bryan; a son, Steve Wilkinson and wife, Barbara, in Ft. Thomas, KY. Four grandchildren, Charissa Stamm and husband Brett in Ft. Worth, TX; Angela Gambill and husband Derry in Thailand; Taraneh Wilkinson in Washington D.C.; and Carl Wilkinson stationed in Japan. Five great grandchildren, Wyatt and Makenzie Stamm in Ft. Worth and Landon, Emery, and Cohen Gambill in Thailand. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dee Blackmon, with the memo Graces House, PO Box 2722, Bryan, TX 77805. Graces House is a home care facility for those with dementia. |

Obituary: Fred Thurman Wilkinson CRANE Fred Thurman Wilkinson died peacefully at home on 28, 2015. He was born on the family ranch in Menard , Texas, on 12, 1926, to Charles and Virginia Wilkinson. He graduated from Menard High School and attended Texas A&M University for two years before serving in the U. S. Navy. his service in the navy he completed his degree in Animal Husbandry graduating from Texas A&M in 1949. Fred began his 32 year career with the Texas Agricultural Extension Service in Hudspeth in 1949. While there he met the love of his life, Amanda (Mimi) Lee Berry. married on 5, 1951. Fred and Amandas first daughter was born while they lived in Sierra Blanca. In 1954, the family moved to Crane, Texas, where their second daughter was born. Fred was the first county extension agent in Crane and held that position for 26 years. Fred developed and ardently devoted much of his time and effort to a large and successful 4-H program in Crane that greatly influenced many young people as well as adults. Fred wanted everyone to be included in 4-H and did ehind-the-scenes work to make sure they were. Fred was highly respected among his peers and was known as one of the top sheep experts in Texas. He was extremely active in his church, politics, Crane Lions Club, and other various activities in the Crane community. Fred also created the American Cancer Society dinner theater and the Chuckles Gang while in Crane. He served as president of the Sandhills Stockshow and Rodeo, as well as serving many years as director of the lamb show for the same organization. Due to his diligent work and planning, Fred received several local and state awards. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles McClure and Virginia Adeleine Wilkinson, and his siblings Charles McClure Wilkinson Jr., Winnie Lois Wilkinson Oates, and William Anderson Wilkinson; in-laws Roger Oates, Josephine Wilkinson, and Charles Gayle Berry. Fred is survived by his wife, Amanda (Mimi) of the home; daughters Virginia (Genna) Gayle and LaCour Clark of Odessa; Lois Anne and Clint Bell of Crane; grandchildren Fred McClure and Brinn Wallace of Reno, Louisa Logan Bell-Rhodes and Thomas Rhodes of Ft. Worth, Charles Clinton Bell of Crane, and Mackenzie Gayle Barnett of Denver; and great-grandchild Jackson McClure Wallace of Reno; in-laws Jimmie Wilkinson, Buddy and Frances Berry, and Cheri Berry; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. are under the direction of Frank W.
