Obituary: Betsy Marshall Wiley passed away on 3, 2013. Betsy was born on 23, 1945, in Orange, Texas and was a graduate of Sherman High School. She attended Southwestern University at Georgetown and later graduated from the University of Houston, Summa Cum Laude, with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance. She was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha, National Panhellenic Sorority. a career as a legal secretary at Fulbright & Jaworski LLP, Betsy was an active church, school, and community volunteer. Later she served as the Financial Manager of Old Orchard Golf Club in Richmond, Texas. An avid bridge player, she earned the rank of Life Master in the American Contract Bridge League. She treasured her many friendships, enjoyed traveling adventures with family and friends, and relished participating in book club discussions. Betsy was preceded in death by her parents John Lee Marshall and Elizabeth Marshall Turner, her step-father Charles Turner, brother Roger Marshall, and step-brother Neal Turner. She is survived by her husband of 47 years Jeffry John Wiley; daughter Jenny Wiley Legath and husband Jeff and grandchildren Jack, Will, and Cole of Moorestown, New Jersey; sister Patti Poole and husband Ben of Rockwall, Texas; sister-in-law Barbara Marshall of Parker, Colorado; step-sister Lynn Hartman and husband Ken of Chattanooga, Tennessee; step-sister-in-law Wandean Turner of Driftwood, Texas; sister-in-law Penny Childress of Portland, Texas; brother-in-law Cody Wiley and sister-in-law Cynthia Hingle of Slidell, Louisiana; brother-in-law Craig Wiley and wife Anita of Clear Lake, Texas; sister-in-law Janice Wiley of Dickinson, Texas; and many beloved nieces and nephews. L.Jim Wiley on 11, 1941 in Ponca City, Oklahoma. moved to Odessa, Texas in 1951 and then to Midland in 1956.She had been a member of First Christian Church-Disciples of Christ for more than 50 years. She was a homemaker while raising her children then enjoyed a career in the Midland District Clerks office, not retiring until she was in her late 70s. She moved to the Mabee in 2010 where she soon made new friends, loved to play Bingo and was recently nominated to be vice president of the Residents Council.She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Jim Wiley, daughter Lynne Leifeste, sister Meta Raaf, and brothers Emmet Adkins, Thomas Adkins and Walter Adkins.She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Annette and Robert Watts of Midland, grandsons Ben Leifeste and wife Anna of Granite Shoals, Josh Leifeste of Dallas and Austin Watts of Memphis, Tennessee, two great-granddaughters, Kirsten Diamond and Kayla Leifeste of Mesa, AZ, and a brother, Wayne Adkins of Tulsa, OK.The family would like to express gratitude to the staff of the Mabee for their loving care and to the many friends she made there for making her feel so special.
