Obituary: One of Winston Churchill's 'Few and Finest' left us on , 18, 2013. Audrey's RAF Rank of LACW put her in Flying Control Operations at Wittering Air Base during WW II when England stood alone. Audrey lived through the Battle of Britain, The London Blitz, the Bombing of Hull and other actions, miraculously surviving physically intact.

In 1950, with two small girls in tow, she emigrated to the United States. In 1954, while living in Washington, D.C., she met and married the love of her life, moving to Texas where she remained for the rest of her remarkable life.

Survivors include her husband, Andrew F. Whitney; daughters, Lesley Carroll and Allison Goodwin (John); two sisters; and one brother in England; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her son-in-law, Gene Carroll (2007) and oldest daughter, Ray Zimmermann (2008).

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., , 23, 2013 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks . services will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks .

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Audrey's memory to Meals on Wheels or to the Humane Society.

Obituary: WHITNEY, Anita Greathouse, age 79, passed away , 19, 2015 in Houston, Texas. Anita was born 13, 1935 in Dayton, Ohio, to parents Claude David and Romaine Campbell Greathouse. Anita spent her young life in Dayton with sister Eleanor and brother David. She then lived in Clarksburg, West Virginia, with her Aunt Lena where she attended Roosevelt Wilson High School, graduating in 1953. Education was important to Anita. She studied Education at Trinity University in San Antonio and Southwestern Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. She took a break from her studies to marry and raise a family, but she stayed involved in education as an elementary school substitute teacher and librarian. Anita returned to the classroom as a student and graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelors degree in Business Technology in 1986. Her mother and children watched proudly as she walked across the stage and accomplished what she started thirty years earlier. Anita married Roy Whitney in 1958 and had four children, Karen, Jarel, Laura, and Elizabeth. The young family lived in San Marcos, El Paso, and New Jersey, before settling in Houston in 1969. She was, simply put, an amazing mother. She loved her children deeply, and she adored her grandchildren, Ryan, Mechell, Anita, Josh, and Bruce, as well as being a Grandaunt to Kathy, Tommy, Jane, Mark, and Greg. Nothing made Anita happier than to be surrounded by her family. Anita worked the tenure of her professional career at Houston Lighting & Power as an administrative clerk. She was an avid sports fan and a lover of big band music. She had the silliest sense of humor and was a light in the lives of those who loved her. Anita faced adversity with a remarkable determination and a joy for life that is infectious. She lived with cancer for over forty years with unparalleled grace and dignity. Obituary: Amelia (Ann) Whitney, age 72, passed away , 16, 2016 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born in Marshall, Michigan on 6, 1944 to Bacilio and Aurelia Tijerina. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul L Whitney Jr, son, David Paul , brothers, Bacilio Jesse (Leonor), George (Carmen) and John Tijerina, grandson, George Jr. Bub. Amelia is survived by her daughters, Sandra (Michael) Hadley and Marcella Whitney of San Antonio; grandchildren, Tara Settineri (Matt), Desiree Prenos (Jacob), Destiny Billington, Ashley Luckett, and Dakota Rice; great-grandchildren, Sebastian, Ka'Vares (Juju), Aaliyah (Lele), Ethan, Logan and Mason; brothers, David (Sofia) Tijerina and Nicholas Tijerina; sisters, Margarita (Benjamin) Lopez, Dolores (Lee) McDonald, Maria Tijerina and Angel (Robert) Montoya; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Amelia was raised in Lansing MI with her nine siblings. She attended St. Therese Catholic Elementary School and graduated from Eastern High School in 1962. She married her one true love Paul L. Whitney Jr. on 1st 1966. She retired from AT&T in 2001 where she worked for 32 years as a Customer Service Representative. She was an active member of St. Marys Cathedral in Lansing MI where she was a soprano in the choir and was the president of the churches Altar Society.
Amelias legacy will be remembered as an outgoing, energetic, and dedicated mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend who instilled strong family values and traditions in anyone that crossed her path. She always had a smile to share. She was a strong and free-willed woman who took pride in everything she did. She especially enjoyed being surrounded by her loving family. The light of her life was spending time with her great-grandchildren and was well known by all as Grammy. All that knew her loved her deeply. She was always so kind and gentle to everyone she met and gave good advice to all who asked.
Amelia liked to play games on her computer for hours at a time. She enjoyed going out to the movies, casino, reading, playing the piano, singing karaoke, and going out to eat with family and friends. She started the tradition with her own children of going to Red Lobster every year for their birthdays, and this tradition will be carried out in her name.
Amelia will be dearly missed by all as we have all lost a little of ourselves. We will remember her as the vibrant and vivacious woman she was; always there with an open heart to lend a helping hand. We will forever carry her in our hearts and in our memories as she was truly a blessing to us all.
Visitation will be at Sunset Northwest on Bandera Road on , 21, 2016 from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a rosary at 7:00 P.M. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. , 22, 2016 at St. Brigid Catholic Church 6907 Kitchener Road San Antonio, TX 78240 with Rev. Stuart Juleen officiating.

LTC Paul Thomas Whitmore, USAFR (Ret), of San Antonio entered rest on , 2, 2012. He was born in Medina, Texas on 19, 1921 to Margaret Jane Shuptrine Whitmore and James Hiram Whitmore. Pauls early schooling was in Medina. He was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School and Texas A & M University. While in the service he had the opportunity to attend Yale University in a special engineering program. He was retired from City Public Service after 37 years. Paul was a past Chairman of the South Texas Chapter of the Society of Automotive Engineers. He was a member of The Sons of the Republic of Texas, Sons of Confederate Veterans, Sons of the American Revolution, American Legion, AFA, and ROA. Paul was a Methodist. He appreciated being able to attend Castle Hills First Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and all outdoor activities especially at his place in the upper hill country. He was a loving husband and father. He is survived by his wife, Rochelle Bargsley Whitmore; his son, Paul Thomas Whitmore, Jr.; a nephew, Edward Paul Whitmore and niece, Pamela Kay Spivey. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Dr. Ralph Martin Whitmore. SERVICE

Preceded in death by father Albert Rudolph Yebram, mother Hedwig Edith (Brodish) Yebram, brother Fredrick Rudolph Yebram, and Granddaughter Amy Wheelock. Survived by husband Glen R. Whitmore; Children Monitte (Jim) Hull, Michele Harrison, Meloney (Hobert) Hall, and Marcia (Christopher) Bryan; stepchildren Jay Whitmore, Chrystal Whitmore, and Drew (Marie) Whitmore; brother William (Elizabeth) Yebram; grandchildren Gerald Russell, Brent (Mandy) Russell, Jason (Jackie) Russell, LaChele Christian, Dena Harrison, Jennifer (Kevin) Simcox, Paul (Candace) Harrison, (Tracy) Long, Ellen (Andre) Abamonte, Jonathan (Shayla) Bryan, Evan Bryan, and Christopher Bryan; step-grandchildren James Whitmore, Ashley Michaelson; many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; nieces and many cousins.
