Obituary: Graveside services for Louther Clovis Whitehead, 91, of Lufkin, will be held at 10:00 a.m. , 24, 2016 in the Fairview with Bro. Steve Cowart and Bro. Keith Brashear officiating. Mr. Whitehead was born 9, 1925 in Angelina and passed away , 20, 2016 in a local nursing facility. He was the son of the late Anna Bertha (Harrell) and John Jessie Whitehead. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather and brother. He retired from Lufkin Industries where he had worked as a welder. He enjoyed ranching and farming. He was known in the community as goat man and was the community vet. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during W.W.II. Survivors include wife of 72 years, Daphna Whitehead; daughter, Audrey Beth Versland; son, Linwood L.C. Whitehead and wife, Jennetta,; daughter, Doris Jean Calhoun and husband, Floyd Beamon, Jr.; son, Eddy Wayne Whitehead and wife, Dora, all of Lufkin; 11 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Gladys Massingill who will celebrate her 101st birthday in a few days; and brother, Wilton, J. Whitehead. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters; 5 brothers; and a grandchild. Honorary pallbearers will be Zachary Davis, Tyler Barrett, Rayce Barrett, River Barrett, Ricardo Garza, Wesley Williams, David Davis, Lance Hall, Michael Whitehead, Luther Whitehead, Corey Calhoun and Doug Scheffler. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. evening at Gipson . Obituary: Lori Whitehead was born on 19, 1952 to Jack and Doris Thomas in Detroit, Michigan. Lori lived her younger years in Elgin, Illinois before moving to Plano, TX with her husband Timm in 1979. Here they raised their 2 sons Matt and Mitch. Lori loved reading books and going to the movies to see the newest comedy or love story. Lori also loved watching her boys and grandsons play sports. Whether it was soccer, football, or baseball she was always there to support them. When she wasn cheering on her grandsons she enjoyed playing bunko with her dear friends. Lori also loved to travel with her family. She also was a dedicated employee for the Target Corporation for the last 10 years. Lori goes on to join her parents, Jack Millar Thomas and Doris Olive Thomas and her sister Dorothy. She leaves behind her loving husband of 41 years Timm; as well as her two sons Matthew Scott Whitehead (Regan) and Mitchell Alan Whitehead (Heather). Through her two sons, Lori had four grandchildren; Mason, Manning, Shiloh, and Beckham Whitehead. She also leaves behind her sister Jaci Grant and many loving nieces and nephews as well as great neices and nephews. There will be a service held on , 24, 2013 at 2:00PM. Obituary: LaJuana Kaye Whitehead, 57, passed away , 16, 2016 in Houston, Texas surrounded by her family. Kaye was born 26, 1958 in New Orleans, LA, daughter of late Melvin Searcy and Johnnie Mae Searcy. Kaye lived most of her childhood in West Monroe, LA before moving to Pearl, MS her senior year of high school, where she graduated in 1976. Growing up, she spent the majority of her summers with her grandparents and family in Archibald, LA. Kaye was very active and enjoyed volunteering for all of her childrens church events, school events and field trips, as well as their sport functions. Aside from volunteering, Kaye worked many years running a church daycare before leaving the work field to do more of the things she loved to do the most. Kaye loved being outdoors, whether it was geocaching with family and friends or doing things in her garden. When she wasn outside, she spent her time spoiling her dog, Babe, reading good books, cooking and baking Christmas goodies, putting her crafty hands to work, but most of all- spending time with her grand babies. Kaye was known by many for her contagious laugh, witty sense of humor, and the love she had for God. As a beloved daughter, mother, sister, aunt, mawmaw and friend, Kaye will be sincerely missed. She is survived by her mother Sunny Searcy of Pearl, MS; Daughters, Dana Whitehead of Houston, TX, Sarah Snell (Tim) of Houston, TX, and Molly Prior (Jordan) of Houston, TX; Son, Jesse Whitehead of Moscow, ID, and step-son Cliff Whitehead (Cassandra) of Lukfin, TX; 7 grandchildren, Alyssa, Camryn, Callee, Carizma, Paisley, Peyton, and Cole; sister, Julie Robbins (Bryan) of Brandon, MS; and brothers, Keith Searcy (Pam) of Midlothian, TX, and Jeff Searcy (Sheila) of Carthage, MS. She was proceded in death by her father, Melvin Searcy, and birth mother, Johnnie Mae Searcy. We rejoice because she is now in the presence of her good Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Kayes burial service were held on , 29, 2016, at Lynn in Archibald, LA at 10:30 AM followed by a celebration of her life at Archibald Baptist Church at 11:00am.
