Obituary: Richard James White, Sr., age 95, passed away on , May 21, 2013. Born in Creston, Iowa, on 16, 1916, Dick graduated from the Ruhl-Hartman High School in Kansas City, Missouri in 1936 and from the Kemper Military School, Boonville, Missouri in 1938. A career Air Force officer, Dick began his service in the early years of WWII, receiving his commission and his pilots wings in the Class of 1940-E at Kelly Field, Texas. During the war, he was a principal instructor for advanced bomber pilots at fields located in Arizona, Texas, California and New Mexico. Later in the war he served as Squadron Commander of a B-29 tactical squadron, flying 22 combat missions in the Far East. Following the war, Dick was assigned to the occupation forces in Japan where he served with both the 38th and 3rd Bomb Wings and commanded the 10th Radar Calibration Squadron. He logged 520 hours in B-29s over hostile territory. Dick was especially proud of his long service with the Strategic Air Command. Early in SACs formation he commanded Castle AFB, which was the first home of the B-52 Stratofortress. He later commanded Anderson AFB, Guam, a key B-52 base used in support of troops during the Vietnam conflict. During the Vietnam conflict years he also served as Commander of McClellan AFB, one of the largest west coast air bases used in the logistical support for troops in Vietnam. His other senior career assignments included tours as Defense Attaché in both Hong Kong and Taiwan, and as Executive Officer to the USAF Chief of Staff and his Deputy where he assisted in the development and implementation of plans, programs and policies for the USAF. Prior to his retirement in 1973, he logged over 3,200 flight hours and was certified as a Command Pilot. He holds a B.A. in Social Sciences from Sacramento State , Sacramento, California. In addition he graduated from the USAF Ground Maintenance School; Command and General Staff School in Leavenworth, Kansas; Defense Intelligence School, Attaché Training Course and Foreign Service Institute, all in Washington, DC. He also completed graduate work in Radar training, Resource Management at the George Washington University and in Chinese History and Language and the Sanz School of Languages, both in Washington, DC, where he studied and learned to read and write Chinese (Mandarin dialect). He also completed KC-135/707 Jet Transition training. At various times, he was a member of the Board of Governors of the USO, the Salvation Army, the Community Chest and the Boy Scouts of America. He was a recipient of the prestigious Silver Beaver Award from the Yosemite Council of the Boy Scouts of America. He was also an active member in the Rotary and Kiwanis Clubs. His decorations include the Legion of Merit, the Distinguished Flying Cross with Oak Leaf Cluster, the Airmans Medal, the Bronze Star, the Meritorious Service Award, the Air Medal with 5 Oak Leaf Clusters, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Air Force Commendation Medal, the Combat Readiness Medal, the American Defense Service Medal, the American Campaign Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, the World War II Victory Medal, the Army of Occupation Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the Armed Forces Reserve Medal and the United Nations Service Medal. He also holds the Chinese Air Force Pilot Wings. Dick was a scratch golfer who loved fly fishing and tinkering around the house. He and Natalie, his wife of 73 years, traveled extensively following his retirement. He enjoyed having his family around him, including his 4 grandchildren and their spouses, Kristin and Ken, Jennifer and Jonathon, Adam and Justine, and Jim and , and 7 great grandchildren, Abigail, Kylie Grace, Daniel, Kendall, Maya, Koby and Madeline.
He is watching over those young kids, his two sons and their wives, Dick and Barbara and Bill and Anne, and Natalie, his wife, best friend and confident. We all will miss him very much. A visitation will be held from 12 pm to 2 pm on , May 24th, 2013, at Porter Loring Mortuary, 1101 McCullough, San Antonio, Texas. Interment in the Arlington National with full Military honors. Obituary: CMSGT Loras W. Pete White, USAF, Ret., age 72, passed away on , 20, 2008. He was born on 10, 1936 in Worthington, Iowa. He served 4 years active duty and then went on to serve 38 years in the reserves where he retired from the United States Air Force Reserve. He was a city councilman for Leon Valley and also a member of the Board of Adjustment. He was a former member of the San Antonio Jaycees and a member of the Leon Valley Lions Club. Pete was a member of the Christopher Columbus Italian Society. In addition to his military career he worked at the San Antonio Boys Club and the Fox Studio. He served as the executive director of the Andrews Texas Boys Club. He also worked for San Antonio Youth Organization, San Antonio Independent School District, and RJR. Pete attended St. Marys University, Our Lady of the Lake University and University of Texas in San Antonio as well as New York University. He was preceded in death by, his parents, Calestasus and Bernadette White. He is survived by his wife, Mary T. White; daughter, Deborah Barrera and her husband David; sons, Peter G. White, and his wife Kimberly, and Edward A. Obituary: On 2, 2010, Clifford B. (C.B.) White, one of the "Greatest Generation", slipped the surly bonds of earth to join family and friends that departed before him. C. B., the only child of Harry and Hazel White, was born on 20, 1920, in Fort Scott, Kansas. He lived in Amarillo, Texas, during his early years then moved to Sand Springs, Oklahoma, and attended Sand Springs High School where he, as quarterback of the football team and captain of the basketball team, led his teams to the state championship in 1937. He attended the University of Texas from 1938-1943 where he obtained a BBA degree. While there he met his future wife, Gertrude Wiederspahn, whom he married on 12, 1943, at Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas, and with whom he shared 67 years of love and companionship. From 1943-1945, C.B. served his country in the Pacific theater as a Private, Corporal, and Sergeant with the 30th Bombardment Group which participated in campaigns in the Tuvalu Islands on the island of Nanomea, the Gilbert Islands on the island of Apamama, the Marshall Islands on the islands of Kwajalein and Eniwetok, and the Martanas on the islands of Saipan and Iwo Jima. his discharge from the military, C.B. and Gertrude moved to Corpus Christi, Texas, in 1946 where C. B. enjoyed a 36 year career with American Smelting and Refining (ASARCO) at the Corpus plant. He spent 22 years as Personnel and Safety Director, 2 years as Assistant Plant Manager, and 12 years as plant manager. C.B. served his community as a member of the Board of Directors for the Texas Association of Business, the Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce, the United Way of Coastal Bend, the Corpus Christi Board of Trade, the National Conference of Christians and Jews, the American Heart Association, and Riverside and Pharaohs Country Clubs. He was also a Deacon, Elder, and Trustee for Parkway Presbyterian Church where he and Gertrude were members for 50 years. C.B. was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed many years of golfing, hunting, fishing, biking, and coaching his sons Little League baseball teams. He and Gertrude loved dancing and were members of several dance clubs and they also enjoyed golfing together with their many golfing friends in their retirement years. He was a generous, loving, and caring husband, father and friend and well liked as well as respected by all who knew him. C.B. is survived by his wife of 67 years, Gertrude N. White of Midland, Texas; children, Ronald H. White and spouse Marci M. White of Austin, Texas; Randal Dean White of Austin, Texas, and Judy White Oliver and spouse Dr. Larry Dale Oliver of Midland, Texas; 11 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends , at Ellis between the hours of 7:00 P.M. and 9:00 P.M. services have been scheduled for 1:00 P.M. , at the Ellis Chapel with Reverend Bill Billett officiating. Obituary: Clayford Clay Ryan White, 67, of Leander, TX, passed away at Seton Medical in Austin, TX on 12th, 2017.

Clay was born in Wichita, KS on 31st, 1950 and was soon after adopted, along with his sister Julia, by Frank and Norline White. He graduated from Minneapolis High and after a brief stint in college he joined the U.S. Navy on May 1st, 1969 and served for 20 years. While at training camp he met the love of his life, Judy Marie Turri, and they were married in Memphis, TN on 1, 1970. spent 43 glorious years of marriage together.

leaving the Navy he moved to Austin, TX and worked for a variety of technology companies, finally retiring from DPS in 2015. Clay was passionate about religious studies and earned a Masters Degree in Theology from Creighton University.

Clay is survived by his daughter Melissa White, sons Matthew and Brian White, sister Julia McClure, grandson Jackson White, his daughters in law Chelsea and Ari White, and many loving members of his extended family. Clay shared his infectious sense of humor and caring heart with all those around him.

A special thank you to the Seton Heart Specialty and Transplant for their loving care and support.

services for Clay will be a St. Paul the Apostle Parish in Horseshoe Bay on , 17th starting at 10:00 AM. Clay will be laid to rest at the Lakeland Hills Memorial Park in Burnet, TX.

Obituary: Claudia Susan White, 56, passed away 23, 2011 at Cy-Fair Hospital from a massive blood clot in the lungs. She was born on 27, 1954 in Houston, Texas to parents Claud and Naomi White. She grew up in Houston, attending Westbury High School and later joined the Houston Police Department in 75. twenty years with the police department, Claudia retired and soon after earned her Associates of Science in Fashion Design from Houston Community System.

Claudia was a dedicated volunteer at Camp Peniel, a Christian Camp in Marble Falls, Texas. She was known for her strong faith in the Lord and loved to share it with those around her.

Claudia was preceded in death by her parents Claud and Naomi White; her daughter, Rachel Syrisse Sumrall; and her brother Roger White. She is survived by her sons, John and Benjamin Sumrall; daughter-in-laws, Lori Wilson and Debra Sumrall; and grandchildren Rachel, Jesse, and Lucas Sumrall. Claudias daughter-in-law Debra is also expecting twins due in early . She is also survived by her brother, Clyde White, his wife Anne and their children. Claudia will be remembered and missed by her family and many close friends.

Friends are invited to visit with the family 1, 2011 at Earthmans (Hunters Creek location) from 6-8 pm. services will be held , 2, 2011 at Earthmans (Hunters Creek location) at 11 am, with burial to follow at Memorial Oak .
