Obituary: Whitney Aurora Wheeler, 29, passed away 11, 2015 after a year-long battle with cancer. The only child of Larry and Anita Wheeler, she was born 3, 1986 in Irving, Texas, and grew up in Coppell, graduating from Coppell High School in 2004. She proudly wore her Aggie ring having graduated in 2008 from Texas A&M, Station, with a BA in Communication. She then worked for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation—Northeast Texas Chapter before joining TXU Energy in 2012 where she had been recently promoted. This was not Whitney’s first battle with cancer. As a 2-year-old, she was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, and against all odds, she overcame it and grew up to be a beautiful, sweet, and kind spirit as well as a most loyal friend. As a child, Whitney loved watching “I Love Lucy” reruns and eating macaroni and cheese, which, as an adult, she traded in for Starbucks mocha frapps. She was frequently seen walking her Dalmatians in the neighborhood, riding horseback on weekends, or attending her daily exercise classes at Pure Barre, but she was never seen driving anything but Jeeps. Her signature look was five-inch heels, big sunglasses, and a friendly smile. In short, when Whitney smiled at the world, the world smiled with her, especially at Starbucks. She is survived by her parents Larry and Anita Wheeler of Coppell; aunts and uncles, JoAnn Arthur, Marc and Susan DeChellis, Tony and Mary DeChellis, Teresa and Rick Brumfield; cousins Renee, Michael, Matthew, Danielle, Natalie, John, Annemarie, Blake and Tyler, special friends Becky and Ken Polk; her Dalmatians Oliver and Frida; as well as numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved grandparents, Uncle Bob, and treasured Dalmatian Lucy. Special thanks to Dr. James Brugarolas, Linda Hawkins, RN, and many others at UTSW. Visitation at 6:00 PM and vigil service at 7:00 PM on , 14, 2015 at Rolling Oaks , 400 Freeport Parkway, Coppell. Mass of the Christian Burial on at 2:00PM , 15, 2015, St. Ann Catholic Church, 180 Samuel Blvd, Coppell. Obituary: Vryna Lael Wheeler, of Euless, died , 24, 2015, at the age of 38. under the direction of Bluebonnet Hills , Colleyville, TX. Services to be performed by Pastor Tom Pembleton of Compass Christian Church and Pastor Jay Franks of Compass Christian Church. Music by Dottie Morris. Vryna surrounded herself with people. She knew how to have fun and how to draw others into fun. Vryna introduced family and friends to lively places like The Magic Time Machine and pleasures like roller coasters, concerts and—ever a Cowboys fan—football. Air shows, renaissance festivals, the State Fair and the beach were some of her playgrounds. Vryna possessed a capacity to love that few have. Fun is simply one way she loved and cared for people. A long time dental assistant, Vryna enjoyed her profession. Dentistry was a place where her kindness, her talent of making people feel comfortable, were well utilized. Patients felt at ease while in her chair. Also an animal lover, she fostered dogs for ARF. Furthermore, she raised funds for cystic fibrosis, since it personally touched the life of one of her close friends. Vryna cared for neighbors’ children whenever a need arose. She loved. She loved deeply. Vryna loved her sister Angela and carefully tended to her while she was in ICU. In fact, Vryna loved her family and friends and did what she could with what she had when she had it. Nothing kept her from helping another in need, even if it meant sacrificing her own needs. Vryna is survived by her 9 year old son Caden Freeman; her parents Ron Wheeler and Valerie and Ted Zelms; her sister Angela Segars; her grandparents Roy and Elnore Wheeler and John and Beatrice Graw as well as countless extended family and friends. An account has been set up for the welfare of her son, Caden. If you would like to contribute, please contact Vryna’s sister, Angela Segars, via email awheeler1398@gmail.com for information on how to give. |
