Obituary: Clarence was born in 1936 in a small farming town called Nada, Texas. Along with his brother and two sisters, they worked hard in the field almost every day. He traveled overseas with the Army in his early 20s before attending college at Texas A&M to study Engineering. He met Dorothy at a dance in Frydek in 1963 and they were married two years later. Clarence worked as an engineer at NASA Space for almost 30 years, and then did consulting work for another 15 years at various aerospace companies. His achievements include several patents and technical publications. He was awarded the 1990 AIAA Engineer of the Year award for his work on the Pole Escape System for the space shuttle. He loved to listen to polka music and play the harmonica or accordion. He also loved traveling, camping, and was devoted to studying the Bible. He enjoyed building, constructing, or restoring anything from houses to classic cars. He would put his talents to good use by helping others in need. In all his successes, he remained a humble, honest, and down-to-earth man. Clarence was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and member of the Living Church of God. He leaves behind his wife of 45 years, Dorothy, their son Mark Wesselski and wife Melody; daughter Karen Waller and husband Richard, along with three grandchildren: Grace Wesselski, Wyatt Wesselski, and Becca Waller. He also leaves behind two sisters, Wilma Dittrich and Evelyn Valis, as well as countless friends and family. under the direction of Forest Park East and , Webster, Texas. |

Obituary: Margery Hayes Wessell passed away on , 15, 2014 in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 74, after a long illness. Margery was born on 12, 1940 in Tenafly, New Jersey, to William and Ruth Hayes. As a child she helped tend her fathers garden and loved climbing its apple tree to gather apples, but hated having to eat extra asparagus that could not be pawned off on the neighbors. As an adult she claimed to have a rown thumb where gardening was concerned and loved looking at flowers, but not growing them herself. She always retained her hatred of eating asparagus. In her youth she participated in a number of local theatrical productions, was a dedicated pen pal, and was also a Drum Majorette and could twirl a flaming baton. She attended Tenafly High School, earned a bachelors degree from Case Western Reserve University, and earned a Masters Degree in Speech and Language Pathology from Queens . She married Herb Wessell in 1962. Margery had a long career as a Speech-Language Pathologist, and taught in a number of inner-city schools. She loved children and found her work as a speech teacher very rewarding. She was an active member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) for many years. Margery followed Herb across the country and beyond, while he was on active duty in the Air Force. She had the opportunity to visit Greece, Egypt and Lebanon during the early years of her marriage. Margery and Herb lived in a number of US states - Louisiana, Missouri, California, Virginia and Texas - and also in Canada and Turkey. retired together in Rockport, Texas. Margery was an avid hummingbird watcher, and for years faithfully attended the HummerBird Celebration held each in Rockport-Fulton, Texas, during the peak of the fall migration of ruby-throated hummingbirds. She also enjoyed watching songbirds at her backyard bird feeders - cardinals and chickadees were favorites - and she enjoyed Volksmarching in both San Antonio and Rockport. She loved music - some favorites were the Pachelbel Canon, A Music Box Christmas, James Galway flute music, and the Andrews Sisters-Danny Kaye version of All I Want for Christmas is My Two Front Teeth. She had a good singing voice, and sang in a number of choirs throughout her life. She also played the autoharp, and wrote an English translation of the song Jerusalem of Gold that she was quite proud of. Margery spoke Turkish and French, in addition to English, and was a very accomplished knitter. She knit many childrens sweaters over the years for the Guideposts Knit for Kids charity program. She had a whimsical sense of humor, and a love of wordplay, puns, tongue-twisters, the poet Ogden Nash, stories from Stoopnagles My Tale is Twisted, Sue Graftons detective novels, anything chocolate, and soap operas. Margery was a kind, warm and friendly person, who loved laughing, talking and having good times with family and friends. She attended Methodist and Presbyterian churches, and was a believing Christian. She was also tenacious, and survived both breast and uterine cancer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herb Wessell and her sister, Patricia Hayes Hargrove. Margery is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Wessell; son, David Wessell; granddaughter, Brianna Wessell; sister, Elizabeth Hayes Morgenroth; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is survived by her son, David Wessel; daughter, Mary Wessel Jabouri and son-in-law, Rafaiel; granddaughter, Michelline ÂMicha Wessel; sisters, Utha Lee Grizzle of Newport, Arkansas and Mary Sue Claxton of Blessing, Texas; brother, Randy Stroud and sister-in-law, Shirley of Dexter Michigan; sister-in-law, JoAnne Wessel of Glenn Ellyn, Illinois; nephews, Donny, Michael, Russel, Chris, Scott, Curt, Jeff and James; and nieces Brenda Claxton, Sharon Hagar, Linda Wessel and Linda Tarrillion. her retirement as an RN working in the CCU at SW Texas Methodist Hospital, Verna went on to become a self taught and renowned maker of reproduction porcelain dolls. Many of her dolls won awards for their beauty and likeness to antique dolls. All our thanks to family and friends for their support. Obituary: John Allen Wessel, beloved husband and father, passed away 20, 2003, at the age of 81. Born in Chicago Illinois, he went on to serve his country in World War II as a B -17 pilot for the Army Air Corps, stationed in Europe and in Africa, he completed 50 missions over the European theatre. He was later stationed at Randolph A. F.B. and eventually retired from the USAF as a Lt. Colonel. Allen was preceded in death by his son Philip A. Wessel and brother Kenneth Wessel. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Verna Wessel; son, David Wessel; daughter, Mary Jabouri and son-in-law -Rafaiel; granddaughter Michelline ÂMicha Wessel. Special thanks to Ruben Garza, Tina Schimonsky and the staff of Vitas Hospice. Their caring support allowed Allen to pass away at home in the presence of his loving family. |
