Obituary: ROSALIE BERNADINE WEIDNER Born: 29, 1922 Died: 13, 2010 at the age of 87. Rosalie was called by Christ and led from a life with us to a life in heaven on , Oct. 13. Multiple health problems over the past 2 months ultimately overwhelmed her. She fought hard and bravely to the end, especially out of love for her family. Rosalie retired after 20 years from the Texas Department of Transportation following 15 years at F.W. Woolworth on N. Shepherd Drive in Houston. She dearly loved her four children (Mary, Bob, Linda and Les), five grandchildren (Lisa, Angela, Emily, Amanda, and Ben), and eight great grandchildren (Brandon, Taylor, Josh, Tanner, Tate, Will, Nora Grace, and Jayce). She also loved her childrens partners (Ron, Cynthia, Tom and Sid). Rosalie cherished her many friends and she was easy to love and have fun with. She was a 50 year member of White Oak Baptist Church, where she touched many lives. Rosalie had many names of endearment: The Rose, Rosie, Mom, Grammie, and Meme. She loved giving and receiving attention from all she loved and all who loved her. She will be greatly missed by so many. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. , Oct.15 at Heights , 1317 Heights Blvd. in Houston 77008. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. , Oct. 16 at White Oak Baptist Church, 3615 Mangum Rd. in Houston 77092. Burial will be at Woodlawn Garden of Memories 1101 Antoine Dr. in Houston 77055. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to her beloved church. |

Obituary: Arno Weidner of New Braunfels passed away , May 5, 2010 at his residence at the age of 96. He was born 21, 1914 to Fritz and Ella Weidner in Sattler Texas. Mr. Weidner owned and operated Weidners Turkey Farm on Highway 46. He was a member of Frohsein Singing Club, Sophienburg Museum, New Braunfels Conservation Society, Eagles Club, Dance Club, Sangerhalle Club and the 42 Club, Producers Co-op. He served as Secretary for Farm Bureau, taught School at First Protestant Church and was on the Church Council at First Protestant Church and Friedens Church. Preceding him in death was his first wife of over 50 years Leonie Weidner and his second wife of 10 years Lucille Oberkampf. He is survived by his son Dennis Weidner and his wife Cindy; grandchildren Tiffany and Preston Davis and Krystle Weidner; great-grandsons Tate and Braedon Davis; brother, Howard Weidner; step-children Dr. William Oberkampf, Jennifer Downing, Margo Green, Mary Lou Jung, and Cathy Oberkampf and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. on with the family present to receive visitors from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Zoeller . services will be , May 8, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Friedens Church with burial to follow in Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park. |

Obituary: Maynard E. Weidmann, 88, the son of Edward H. and Lelia Cunningham Weidmann, was born May 23, 1925 in Mobile, Alabama and passed from this life, , 25th following a long period of failing health. Maynard grew up in Mobile where he graduated from High School and he later earned a Bachelor's Degree from the from the University of Alabama. Maynard was a retired veteran of military service having served with he United States Army Air Corps during WW II and later serving with the US Army Infantry during the Korean War. He retired with the rank of Major. Among medals and honors of which he was awarded was the Silver Star, the Korean Service Medal with Five Bronze Service Stars, and the UN Service Medal. Following retirement, he worked with NASSA as a procurement officer and later worked with the and Education Department. He retired in 1975. Maynard had been a resident of Farmers Branch for 46 years, moving from Dallas. Preceded in death by his wife, Maudine in 2007, he is survived by his son, John of Gainesville, Texas and by a granddaughter, Casey Weidmann and a grandson, John Weidmann both of Arlington, Texas. Graveside Services with full Military Honors will be at 11:15 am, , 15th at the Dallas-Fort Worth National . Attendees will meet in lane "B" at the cemetery at 11 am |
