Obituary: Ernestine Ernie Wayne, died quietly at home on 1st, surrounded by her family and caregivers. Ernie, along with brother Joseph Mittelman, was born in Chicago, Illinois on 19th, 1922 but grew up in Los Angeles, California. Daughter of Anna and Maury Mittelman, Ernie graduated from Fairfax High School at age 15 and went on to attend the University of Southern California. She married the love of her life, Bradley Wayne, and moved to Dallas, Texas in 1950. Ernie believed that serving others was the highest calling imaginable, and her own personal service began during World War II, helping care for burn patients at Cedars Sinai hospital in Los Angeles.

She truly kept the ig picture in mind, and no cause was too large or too small if it captured her imagination. She was the ecipient of the Wings of Eagles award as well as a member of both the Keepers of the Flame and the Boone Powell Sr. Society at Baylor care System.
She was also a past member of the Baylor System Foundation Board of Directors. An avid reader and traveler, Ernie most enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, who kept her phone ringing at all hours, day and night, seeking advice ranging from clothes to food to childrearing. From email and twitter to books, travel and movies. From the complex to the mundane, Ernie was truly Mission Control. Ernies true legacy is the example she set for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, both in her love of her husband, Brad and in the absolute certainty that service to others is essential.

Obituary: Margie Waynant, age 71, passed away afternoon May 23rd at her home in Dallas after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband of 50 years Jerry Waynant, by her daughter Donna Marie Ramsey and husband Cris of Allen, her sons Michael Waynant and wife Jeannie of Hawaii and Kevin Waynant of Dallas by her brother Luke Stango of NJ and by her sister Dorothy Marks of NJ. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Her Angels as she called them; Matthew, Justin, Jennah and Maxx. She was preceded in death by her son Christopher in 1988.

Margie was born and raised in Philadelphia where she graduated from both Catholic grade school and high school. She met her husband Jerry while both were working at the Bell Telephone . were married in 1960 and moved to upstate NY when Jerry took a position with IBM. Subsequent moves were to NY, PA, OH and finally to TX in 1972. At that time she was pregnant with her son Chris who was conceived a Yankee but thank God born a Texan.

Margie was very active in her church, St. Mark the Evangelist in Plano. She and Jerry registered on and the church had her teaching CCD the following night. While on staff at St. Mark, she taught religious education and confirmation class special education. She was also involved in Marriage Encounter, Carisso, Scout, etc.

Margie was a stay at home mother until her children were out of school. She then developed a passion for caring for foster newborns. She cared for some 28 of them for periods of 1 week to almost 1 year. She often mused that she had 32 children but only got to keep 4 of them.

Marge loved to throw a party and her Christmas open house and sing-alongs with Father Larry were legendary. She and Jerry spent time at their lake house near Mt. Vernon where they became involved at Sacred Heart. There she was a EM , a lector and volunteered to teach CCD.

Along with all of her church related positions, Margie also worked for State Farm for several years. During her almost 5 year battle with lung cancer, she kept an amazing positive outlook on life. Her oxygen tank became her constant companion but never did it change her way of life.

Her funeral mass will be celebrated on May 28, 2010 at 11am at St. Mark The Evangelist Catholic Church, 1201 Alma Drive, Plano, TX. A reception will follow in the school cafeteria. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials to The Texas Association For the Protection of Children, 2904 Floyd Street, Suite C2, Dallas, TX 75204 www.texprotects.org .
