Obituary: Billy Bill Watson, 64, of Station entered his heavenly home on , 21 with his family by his side. service will be held at 10:00 a.m. , 25 at Memorial Chapel in Station. Interment will follow at Peach Creek . Visitation will be from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Bill was born 4, 1952 in Madisonville the son of Lucian A. and Betty Jean (Jenkins) Watson. He retired after 28 years of service with the City of Station in the Road Service Department; and then worked for Brazos for the Road and Bridge Department for 14 years. Bill loved collecting guns, knives and watches. He enjoyed fishing and listening to Blues music. Bill cherished his family and friends; and loved to make people laugh. Bill is preceded in death by his father; infant brother, Donnie Gene Watson; and a nephew, Danny Matejka. He is survived by his mother, Betty Jean Hodges; wife of 43 years, Peggy Watson; his children and their spouses, Rick and Brandi Watson, Kimberly and Mark Ward, Donny and Dacota Watson; brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry and Katy Watson, Kenny and Renee Watson; sister and brother-in-law, Sandy and Robert Jones; sister-in-law, Shirley Byrne; grandchildren, Nicole and Cassey Watson, Dylan, Emily and Gracie Ward, and Brayden McCormick; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends. Obituary: Billie Lee Hobbs Watson, 88, our beloved Mother, Grandmother and revered family matriarch, passed away peacefully into God's hands on , 21st, 2014. Her life was a triumph and testament to her love of family, her neighborhood community and to her many brilliant pursuits in the world of art, culture and gourmet delights. With an indomitable spirit forged from The Depression and then challenged by near-fatal illness at 24, she lived each day with dignity and grace, enriching our lives, gifting us her impressive skills and inspiring us. Billie was preceded in death in 1974 by her Texas Aggie sweetheart and husband of 28 years, Edward I. Watson III. Throughout life and more than anything else, Mother loved to be with her family. Her holiday and birthday celebrations and home-cooked dinners were legendary. She is survived by her four children: Sheridan Watson Matina of Fort Worth, Edward I. Watson IV of Station, Cecily Watson Burleson and her husband Rick of Houston, and Christopher Lee Watson and his wife Julie Parks of Fort Worth. Billie was blessed with five grandchildren who gave her more joy than can be described. Her beloved grandsons, Jonathan and Andrew Matina, and JR and Jeb Burleson always made her smile with pride, while grand-daughter Christen Watson and Jason Heller and their two young daughters, Avery and Lucille, were a perpetual source of mutual joy and delight for and with their "Grammy". She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews and their families. Billie would also certainly wish to thank her dearest and longtime friends, Edna Brown, Betty Rogan and Lois Conneighton, Eloise Willingham, Sharon Philips, Midge Weigold and Gregory Balan, and the Lightfoot family, as well as her many attentive and helpful neighbors. an amazing life, she crosses the river having blessed our lives with the knowledge that we were all truly loved. Following an 11:30am visitation at the Memorial Oaks , services will then be held in the Memorial Oaks Chapel, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas, on , 28th, at 12:30pm. Betty was born on 10, 1932, in Wilbarger , a daughter of the late Bradford and Annie Mae Neel. She married Hoyt Watson on May 11, 1950. He passed away 24, 1984. Mrs. Watson resided in Iowa Park until three and a half years ago, when she moved to House of Hope in Wichita Falls. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Iowa Park. She met her husband, Jack Watson, Jr., who was stationed at the Army Air base in Walla Walla. married on 26, 1944 and settled in Texas after the war. moved to San Antonio in 1959 where they raised their family. Betty was involved in many volunteer activities and was a member of Northwood Presbyterian Church, Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Delta Delta Delta Sorority. Betty lost her husband, Jack Watson, Jr. in 2006. She is survived by her three children, James A. Andy Watson of Houston, Mary Beth Delano and husband Rick of Corpus Christi, Janet Cunningham of Dallas; her grandchildren, Adam Delano and wife Meredith, Ashley Delano, Shelby Cunningham, Loudon Cunningham, Miles Cunningham, Cato Cunningham and Tracy Dupre and husband Travis; her sister, Maryanne Freeman and husband Bob of Walla Walla, Washington; Sisters-in-Law Kathleen Timm, Josephine Watson, Sissy Watson and Jane Watson; Brother-in-Law Fred Watson, and many nieces and nephews whom she loved. She was predeceased by her brother, Rodney Timm, of Eureka, California. Betty was known for her generous spirit, constant smile, and elegant demeanor and was loved by everyone who knew her. She was a long time resident of the Northwood area and spent her last years at The Inn at Los Patios. She treasured her many friends there and the special ladies of the Lunch Table. Her friends and the dedicated staff of Los Patios enriched her life. The family would like to thank Dr. Stephen Cohen for his years of care of Betty and Jack; Pammy Randle, Maria, Mary, Candi, and Flo along with many others who provided care and companionship to Betty.
