'A Time To Be Born' 

Alma Washington Davis was born to Shed Washington and Viola Phelps   29, 1924 in Benton La. 

'A Time To Rest' 

On     5th 2015 God whispered to her , "Come with me dear child, your troubles are over, you are granted eternal rest and everlasting life in My Kingdom." 

'A Time To Mourn' - 

"Just as God sent me to create an earthly foundation for you, he has called me home to prepare for you a mansion." Mother was preceded & greeted in Heaven by her parents & loving 'Papa' Anthony Brown; brother Robert Washington; sons Flenory 'Emmitt' Frazier, Jr., Melvin Tyrone Douglas 'M.T.'; son in law Christopher Craig Cunningham; daughters in law Alice Faye Hawkins, Gloria Washington Casey; and grandchildren David Dewayne Washington, Sampson Washington, and Rosalind Douglas. 

'A Time To Plant' 

Sister Alma Davis was a dutiful and faithful servant of the Lord. She Accepted Christ as her savior and was baptized of the Holy Spirit at an early age. Mother Davis was a celebrated daughter in the Prince Hall Order of the Eastern Star and dedicated member of Hurricane Bluff Missionary Baptist Church in Shreveport La. until she moved to Texas in 1978. Her Christian duty led her to fellowship with several churches until she found her church home at Southern Crest Missionary Baptist church under the pastorship of the Honorable Reverend Frank Henderson Sr., who she loved dearly.

 'A Time of Peace'

She made it through some of life's most difficult times through prayer testimony and hardwork. Big Mama affectionately known as Biggs or G.G. as she would say, instilled in her family the sincere meaning of God's promise to us all and what we must do to achieve it. Mother worked incessantly as a sharecropper, and as a domestic in order to provide for her 10 children. Biggs had a hand in rearing many of her grandchildren. She chastised us, taught us, counseled us and loved us. 

She was tough when she had to be and most times we didn't rightly know why but by and by when we we became parents and grandparents ourselves we were able to say "Oh, now I get it". She always said 'On that day when God chills this tongue to the roof of my mouth, I don't want y'all fall'n out whoop'n and holler'n all over the place because I'm gonna be eating in the land of milk and honey, walking on streets paved with gold, I'm gonna be just fine.' Biggs has completed the tasks assigned to her by God and she leaves to cherish her memory, her surviving children: Lillie Ann Cunningham of Sumter, S.C., Tommy Lee Douglas (Alice), Rev. James Henry Washington,Billy Ray Washington, Rev. Johnny Marshall Washington, Artis Louise Davis, Artisco Davis (Linda) and Lonnie George Davis (Danette) all of Dallas, Texas. Asking God for a special blessing over forever family which include Rosie Jackson (Roy), Rosemerry Moss, 35 Grandchildren, 65 Great Grandchildren, 20 Great Great Grandchildren, 5 Great Great Great Grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. She said she was everybody's mama and the family extends their gratitude to : Evelyn, Mari, Ben, Anna
