Obituary: "I'm just a plain old country girl, doin' what I'm told and just a little bit more." Mom said that a lot during her last few years. She lived her whole life doing 'just a litte bit more' in everything she did. Delda Kohler Wanier was born in a farmhouse near her childhood home on the old Paint Rock Road (Veribest) on 19, 1923. She attended the local schools in the area. She never claimed to be a scholar, but one the thing she did remember from her school days was a fellow student, Herbert Wanier II, who later became her lifetime partner. were married on 6, 1946 when Herbert returned from World War II. Her first job was working as a switchboard operator with the telephone company. In 1947 they started a family that now includes Dr. Herbert Wanier III and wife Susan, Harvey Wanier and wife Cheri, and Helen Harville and husband Roy. The family has grown to include 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Through her life's journey, she and Herbert lived in Dallas, Abilene, and San Antonio, TX; Pueblo, CO; Bakersfield, , San Diego,and Oildale, CA. During this journey (and it WAS a journey) they sometimes lived in a 40-ft. trailer house with their 3 kids! It may not have always been easy but she kept her family happy doing that 'little bit more'. For many years she worked as an 'Avon Lady'. We still don't know what to do with the boxes and boxes of product that she acquired during those years! Mom could never waste or throw away anything. Later in life, she worked and retired from the cafeteria at Ft. Concho Elementary. Coupons, penny slots, Bingo, and two-stepping to Harvey's fiddle made us smile and we're going to miss that a lot. Since 25, 2015, the Lord is enjoying his devoted soul who told everyone in Park Plaza , "If you don't know the Lord and the Lord don't know you, you don't have a chance in this world or the next!" We need to all try to make this world better by doing 'just a little bit more!' |

Obituary: WANGLER Raymond Ben Wangler, age 86, born 23, 1926 in San Antonio, Texas, passed away after an accident at his home on 6, 2013. Ray was a devout Catholic and an active parishioner at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Throughout his life Ray took great pleasure in breeding exotic birds and was a member of the San Antonio Bird Club. He was an active Amateur Radio Operator licensed as W5EDZ for many years. He is survived by his wife Jeannine (Laake), to whom he was married for 65 years, and his eight children, Diane Ingram, David Wangler, Mary Styles, Joan Huey, Margaret Meissner, Mark Wangler, Angela Overley and Eric Wangler, as well as thirteen grand children and two great-grandchildren. Raymond was a loving husband and father. He grew up in San Antonio and went to St. Gerards grade school, Central Catholic High School and attended St. Marys University where he earned a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Arts degree. He worked for Southwest Research Institute for over 30 years as a Safety Engineer. He served as President of the Institute of Electrical Engineers for four years. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the medical professionals at SAMMC, especially the Surgical ICU, for their dedication and professionalism. Obituary: Kuo-Hsun Wang-Yen passed away on May 22, 2015 in Fort Worth, Texas. She was born in the City of Wuhan in Hubei province of China on 28, 1921. She was the daughter of Dr. Mong-Kai Yen and Mrs. Fong-Wein Ghang. In 1942, she married Chien-Hwa Wang, who later became a two-star General for President Chiang-Kai Shek of the Republic of China. She was a home-maker and enjoyed sewing, painting, and crafts. Her majestic elegance, kind nature and inspiring generosity endured her to friends and family alike. Her absence will be felt deeply by those who she leaves behind. She lived her early years in China before emigrating to Taiwan. Later, she moved to the United States where she resided in Houston, Texas for many years. She spent her last years in Fort Worth, Texas. She was a devoted Buddhist. Kuo-Hsun is predeceased by husband, Chien-Hwa Wang and brother, K. T. Yen. She is survived by sons, Jeffrey Wang and wife, Jessica, and Vincent Wang; daughters, Molly Kuo and husband, James, C. C. Liu and husband, late Wuan Rong Liu, and Leslie Tan and husband, Andrew; grandchildren, Janice Kuo Hoppe and husband, Gavin, James Wang and wife, Cindy, Shirley Kuo Bui and husband, Dai, Mary Kuo Holley and husband, Aaron, Jeff Tan, Catherine Liu, Michael Liu, and Emily Kuo Hoang and husband, Trung; great grandchildren, Jack Hoppe, Mia Hoppe, Max Wang, Alex Wang, Maximus Bui, Mason Bui and Ethan Holley. The visitation will be held on , May 29, 2015 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Chapel of Eternal Peace . The funeral service will be held the following day, May 30, 2015, with 10:00 AM procession to the cemetery for a graveside service. Death is nothing at all. It does not count. I have only slipped away into the next room; Nothing has happened, everything remains exactly as it was; I am I, and you are you, and the old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched. Whatever we were to each other, that we are still. Call me by the old familiar name; Speak of me in the easy way which you always used.
