Obituary: Floyd Martin Waltman was born on 26, 1920 in Quarryville, Pennsylvania to parents William Thomas Waltman and Violet J. Griffith and passed away peacefully , 29, 2009. He grew up in Pennsylvania and joined the military during World War II. He met his beloved wife Ada Mae King while he was stationed at Kelly Air Force Base. married on 4, 1945 in San Antonio, Texas, and he was married to his one and only wife of 64 years. Ever since then he has been a lifelong resident of San Antonio where he worked as an Aircraft Mechanic for 17 years and then as an Air Conditioning Engineer at M&S Tower during the remainder of his working years. He believed in working hard and was always taking part time jobs. He was a member of Travis Park Methodist Church. Floyd loved pets and had many dogs over the years, the last one being Lucky. Other activities he enjoyed were going fishing and watching wrestling on television almost to his final days. He tinkered with his cars a lot and did most of his own mechanic work. He also had the gift of gab and enjoyed making friends and having long conversations. He is sure to be missed by many. May he rest in peace with the Lord. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Elizabeth Waltman; sister-in-laws, Zuma Jones and Lillian Funke; sisters, Emma Weaver and Florence Hess; brothers, Kenneth Waltman, William Bill Waltman, Jay Waltman, and Claire Shorty Waltman. Survivors include sons, James and his wife, Susan and Thomas Waltman; grandson, Cory Stephens; great grandchildren, Forrest and Lanaya Stephens; brother, Ralph Waltman and his wife, Betty of Quarryville, PA; niece, Lorraine Herr and her husband, Gordon also of Quarryville, PA; many other nieces and nephews in Pennsylvania and Washington State. He is also survived by his dog Lucky.

Obituary: Rose Lee Waltisperger, age 90, of New Braunfels, Texas, passed away on , 23, 2015. She was born in Walburg, Texas, on 14, 1924, to Alfred and Magdalena Bethke.

Rose Lee spent her early childhood on the family farm in Walburg until the age of 12 when the family moved to Kingsville, Texas, where she was confirmed and became a member of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. The family later relocated to New Braunfels, and Rose Lee soon began working as a Fire Safety Inspector for the Randolph Air Force Base Fire Department during WWII. It was here that she met George Waltisperger, her husband of 68 years, while he was serving as a fireman on the base after his return from war. married on 8, 1947. She was a proud stay-at-home mother to her daughter Connie and her son Ronald. When the children reached the upper school grades, Rose Lee began a long and rewarding career of more than 20 years as a customer service representative for the Sears store in New Braunfels.

Rose Lee enjoyed cooking, family holidays, her dogs, and high school, college, and professional sports. Rose Lee was an active and faithful member of Cross Lutheran Church for 67 years participating in LWML, Altar Guild, and many other ministries of the church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Alfred Bethke, Jr., father and mother-in-law Joe and Mary Waltisperger, brother-in-law Ralph Ikels and Clarence Poppe, brother and sister-in-law Gilbert and Emily Waltisperger, and son-in-law Johnnie Bartow.

Rose Lee is survived by her husband George, daughter Connie Bartow of New Braunfels, son Ron Waltisperger and wife Lynette of Round Rock, Texas; sisters Lucille Poppe of Milton, Florida, Betty Erben and husband George of New Braunfels and Kathy Einsel of New Braunfels; sister-in-law Bernice Ikels of Schertz, Texas; several nieces and nephews; and longtime friend Gladys Rust.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staffs of Oak Tree Assisted Living, Kirkwood Rehabilitation, and Warm Springs Hospital for their loving care during these past few difficult months.

Memorial contributions may be made to Cross Lutheran Church, 2171 Common Street, New Braunfels, Texas 78130.

The family will receive guests from 6:00-7:00 PM on , 27 at Zoeller , 615 Landa Street, New Braunfels, Texas.

Obituary: George Waltisperger, age 94, of New Braunfels, Texas, passed away on , 13, 2015. He was born in San Antonio, Texas, on 25, 1921, to Joe and Mary Waltisperger.

George spent his first years of childhood on a farm near San Antonio and later moved to Cibolo, Texas, where his father worked at Randolph Air Force Base. He had several jobs in his teen years including working as a pin setter at the Cibolo Bowling Club. He also did odd jobs at the Red Ball Café and Gas Station. George finished his formal education with graduation from New Braunfels High School after driving back and forth with his friend Malcolm Hild every day between Cibolo and New Braunfels in a Model A.

As a member of the Greatest Generation, George proudly served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was stationed at the 1337th Army Air Base at Sookerating in the upper Assam Valley of India and worked as the crew chief on C46s as they ferried supplies and troops to China over the Himalayan and Chinese mountain ranges after the Japanese cut off the Burma Road. his return from the War, George began a 25 year career as a fireman and crew chief at Randolph Air Force Base. It was here that he met his wife of 68 years Rose Lee (Bethke). married on 8, 1947, and made their home in New Braunfels where they soon welcomed the births of daughter Connie and son Ronald. George also worked for his father in a sand and gravel hauling business during this time. He was later employed with Seiler Fire Equipment as a service technician for many years after his retirement from RAFB.

George was confirmed and joined Cross Lutheran Church in 1948 where he was a faithful member for 67 years serving as an elder, an usher and a member of the Finance Committee as well as participating in other projects, and ministries of the church. George took great pride in maintaining his yard and his cars and he enjoyed family holidays, his dogs, and high school, college and professional sports. He was an avid San Antonio Spurs fan and rarely missed a
televised game.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Lee, his parents, father and mother-in-law Alfred and Magdalena Bethke, brother and sister-in-law Gilbert and Emily Waltisperger, brothers-in-law Ralph Ikels, Alfred Bethke, Jr., Clarence Poppe, and son-in-law Johnnie Bartow.

George is survived by his daughter Connie Bartow of New Braunfels and son Ron Waltisperger and wife Lynette of Round Rock, Texas; sister Bernice Ikels of Schertz, Texas; sister-in-laws Betty Erben and husband George of New Braunfels, Kathy Einsel of New Braunfels and Lucille Poppe of Milton, Florida; niece Roxanne Irby and son Tucker; nieces and nephews, many cousins, and church and family friends.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Oak Tree Assisted Living for their loving care during George and Rose Lees stay the last three years, and to the doctors and staff of Christus Santa Rosa Hospital for their recent care.

Dr. Walther was born on 19, 1952 in Austin, Texas to Milton F. Walther and Carolyn Anne Blasig Walther. He graduated valedictorian of his Lufkin High School class in 1971.
Dr. Walther earned his B.S. in chemistry from the University of Texas in 1974. He graduated summa cum laude and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He married Barbara Lane on 15, 1974.
Dr. Walther earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Science at Dallas, Southwestern Medical School in 1978; he was valedictorian of his class and earned the Ho Din Award. The Ho Din celebrates he spirit of medical wisdom and human understanding and is the foremost honor bestowed on outstanding seniors at UT Southwestern. He was president of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society at UT Southwestern.
Other academic honors included a Welch Foundation research grant in organic chemistry and a preceptorship from the American Lung Association. In 1981, he was selected for the radiology course at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology, Walter Reed National Military Medical .
Dr. Walther completed an internship in pediatrics at Childrens Medical in Dallas and a residency in diagnostic radiology at Parkland Hospital, Dallas.
He was board certified in diagnostic radiology by the American Board of Radiology in 1982. He completed a Fellowship in Ultrasound & Computed Tomography at the University of Texas Science at Dallas, Southwestern Medical School in 1983.
The Walther family moved to San Angelo in 1983, where Dr. Walther became a partner in San Angelo Radiology, P.A. He practiced at St. Johns Hospital, Shannon Medical , and San Angelo Community Medical . He was the first medical director of the first magnetic resonance imaging center in San Angelo.
Dr. Walther is survived by his wife, Judge Barbara Walther; son, Dr. Stewart Lane Walther; daughter, Katherine Ann Walther Hodges, her husband, Bill, and their two children. He also is survived by his father, his brother, Bruce, and his sister, Vickie, and in-laws, Jim and Julia Lane and Bill and Susan Lane.
Dr. Walther was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn, and his father-in-law James F. Lane and his mother-in-law Dorothy Watson Lane.
There will be a rosary at 6:30 p.m. , 3, 2014 at Holy Angels Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m., , 4, 2014 at Holy Angels Catholic Church, followed by private internment ceremony at Fairmont .
Pallbearers include: Joe R. Andrews, Dr. Edward Joseph Artnak, Len Mertz, Mort Mertz, Trey Berry, Randol Stout, Gary Johnson.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Carmelite Sisters of Christoval.
