Obituary: Milly Hill Duncan Walden 5, 1919 - 3, 2015 Our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Aunt, who we all called Momsie has left us to join her identical twin Martha Jane Duncan Creecy Talley, her brothers E.C. Dick Duncan Jr., David William Duncan and her parents Edgar Clayton Duncan Sr. and Ellen Jamimah Chaffin Duncan in heaven and the love of her life for 72 years Charles Ramsey Walden Sr. She is survived by her son Charles R. Walden Jr. and wife Laura and daughter Judy Walden- Kirschner and husband Rusty, 8 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren. Milly was born and raised on the Irish Ridge in Kaufman, Texas where she graduated from Kaufman High School and went on to graduate from St. Pauls School in Dallas in 1940. She met her husband Charles in Dallas and they married on 1, 1941 and moved to Austin in 1942. Milly was an RN at Seton Medical and St. Davids Hospital for about 5 decades. During that time in Austin, Milly and Charles became a very important part of the Industry and formed Cook-Walden s in 1971. Milly was well known for her love and for helping many people with her wonderful smile and loving ways. She also belonged to the Austin Junior League, Kiwanis Club, and President of the Mental for Children, Daughters of the American Republic (DAR), and Knights of the Holy Sepulcher and a member of the St. Monicas Holy Family Guild for 60 years. She was a member of St. Theresas Catholic Church in Austin, Texas. Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from five oclock until seven oclock in the evening, on , the 5th of 2015, at Cook-Walden , 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas. A Rosary will be recited at seven oclock that evening. A Mass will be celebrated at ten oclock in the morning on , the 6th of 2015, at St. Theresas Catholic Church, 4311 Small Drive, Austin, Texas 78731. Obituary: Max Ray Walden of Lubbock, has joined his parents, H.G. Hasty Walden and Bessie Walden-Pickens in a life beyond the one we know. He was born in Hollis, Oklahoma, on 1,1930, and raised in Whitharral, Texas, where he resided until joining the U.S. Air Force, where he served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Lubbock Baptist Temple. Max will be remembered by friends, foster children, and others as a man with character and a great sense of humor. Obituary: Kathryn Walden of Georgetown, Texas went to be our Lord and Savior on 28, 2015. Kathryn was born on 5, 1925 in Cross Plains, Texas to Fillmore Ross and Merle West Anderson. Kathryn is preceded in death by her parents, brother and sister in law Phil and Margaret Anderson of Winters, Texas, brother Robert Anderson of Lubbock, Texas, and sister in law Mary Lynn Anderson wife of Bill Anderson. Kathryn is survived by her brother William R. Bill Anderson of Saginaw, Texas and one sister in law, Jane Groce of Fort Worth, Texas and her three children: Phil Walden (Theresa) of Georgetown, Texas, Kathryn Kay Turk (Jim) of Mesa, Arizona and Suzanne ORourke of Georgetown, Texas, the children of Kathryn and y Buncy Walden. Three grandchildren, Stuart Walden, Cameron and Chelsea ORourke; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of lifelong friends. Kathryn was a devoted and courageous single mother who worked tirelessly to ensure the wellbeing of her children. She spent her life placing them as priority. Kathryn was a dedicated employee. As a young woman, Kathryn worked in the Post Office in Cross Plains, Texas before transferring to Beeville, Texas to begin a career with the Department of Agriculture in the Farmers Administration. Beginning as a clerk she was promoted to Supervisor serving as a Civil Servant until her retirement after 30 plus years. Kathryn was involved in her community as well. She has been a member of the First United Methodist Church since moving to Georgetown in the early 1960s. She was a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi and was active in her Chapter in Georgetown. She served as a Boy Scout Den Mother, a Georgetown High School Band Booster and many other activities her children were involved in. Kathryn was a volunteer for the Georgetown Hospital. She enjoyed working in the Gift shop and helping patients and their families. Kathryn served the First United Methodist Church with her presence and also served on the Benevolence Committee, helped with the Georgetown Rotary lunch meetings, folded church bulletins and other activities as needed. Kathryn simply loved manning the polling booths during political elections. She was a faithful Democrat. Kathryns life is celebrated by all who knew her and she will be greatly missed. Kathryn was a respectful Christian who knew the Lord and waited patiently for her call to enter His Kingdom. Visitation will be held at Cook-Walden Davis in Georgetown, Texas on 13, 2015 at 5 pm to 7 pm. services will be held on 14, 2015 at 3 pm at the First United Methodist Church in Georgetown, Texas. Graveside Services will be held at 1 pm at the Cross Plains on 15, 2015 in Cross Plains, Texas where Kathryn will lie next to her parents. Kat was born on 29, 1984 in Houston, Texas to Julia Hard McDaniel and James Gifford McDaniel. She was a graduate of Katy High School, class of 2003. Obituary: Joe Verne Walden passed away on 23, 2015 at M.D. Anderson Cancer after a struggling battle with leukemia. He was born on 28, 1934 in Crowell, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Verne Walden and Lucille Elizabeth Walden. He is survived by his wife, Mary; sister, Ann Upchurch (Bill); son, Ken; daughters, Julie Mullins (Andy), Leslie Leech (Brad); step-daughter, Monica Seamster; grandchildren, Jordan and Kaycee Leech, and Joseph Osborn; step-grandchildren, Fletcher and Ellinor Seamster. Joe was a long time member of Abiding Presence Lutheran Church. He taught Spanish there and was a member of the Border Ministry. He enjoyed his work with San Lucas Lutheran Church in Eagle Pass, Texas. Joe graduated from Littlefield High School, then went to West Texas State on a football scholarship. He was a 3 year starter, and was All Border Conference halfback his senior year. his senior year he was invited to play in the East-West Shrine All Star game. He was also drafted by the Detroit Lions of the NFL. graduation from college he served 2 years active duty in the U.S. Army with the 3rd Armored Division in Germany. He then spent 4 years in the Army Reserves. He worked 40 years in the gasoline refining and marketing business. He began his career with Shamrock Oil & Gas in Amarillo, Texas, then Sigmor Corporation of Tom E. Turner, Sr., where he worked in Ft. Worth and San Antonio. In 1983, Diamond Shamrock bought Sigmor Corporation refinery and retail outlets where he served as Vice President of Retail. The last 3 years before retirement with Diamond Shamrock he spent working on projects in Mexico and Argentina. This was a delight for Joe as he enjoyed speaking the Spanish language. Jeffrey was the only child born to Gary Don Walden and Sally Louise Summers-Walden-Lynch on 15, 1966 at the Collin Memorial Hospital in McKinney, Texas. He was known to his friends as Jeff, Red or Big-un. Jeff took up and loved the sport of archery with his dad Gary in 1980. He won the 1983 and 1984 state championship title in archery with the Bow Hunters Association in Irving, Texas. No matter what kind of season the Dallas Cowboys football team was having, Jeff was always a true fan as he enjoyed watching and defending his team. Jeff enjoyed baking, he always wanted to be a chef, but he settled enjoying baking in his own home surprising others with his own creations, whether it on your birthday, holidays or just showing up at your home for a visit. Jeff worked as a sacker with Burleson Safeway store, Payless Cashway as a stocker and newspaper delivery with the Burleson Star. He later moved to Arlington and worked at the Roadway Inn and Arlington Daily News. He was presently working for Harrah Transportation West Air Field Drive at DFW Airport as a local driver at the time of his death. He is survived by his step-father, Alva Thomas Lynch of Arlington; step-brother, Tommy Lee Lynch and wife Yvonne; step-sister, Deana Lynch-Rogers and husband Joe; two step-nieces, Vickie and Livvy and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins. His is preceded in death by his dad Gary on 28, 1987 and his mother, Sally on 15, 2009; upon his wishes he is being laid to rest at the foot of his parents grave. Family will accept guest for a visitation at Moore , , 14, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Graveside services will be held at Highland in Melissa, , 15, 2012 at 11:30 am. Brother Trey Graham, Senior Pastor of the First Baptist Church in Melissa will be conducting the service. |
