Obituary: Robert Clayton Whitaker, Jr., 62, born , Sept. 3, 1952, and passed , 27, 2015. Preceded in death by parents Robert Clayton Whitaker, Sr., and Sara Omohundro Whitaker. Clayton is survived by his sister, Barbara Ann Whitaker Brake, and brother-in-law, Delmas Brake. A graduate of Middle Tennessee State University, he was a member of the Blue Raider baseball team and played baseball much of his life, including high school and locally. Clayton operated Clayton's Lawn Service with the faithful assistance of Brian Scott. He loved animals, especially cats. Friends and family will gather at a visitation today from 2 until 6 at Forest Lawn . A celebration of life will be conducted at graveside noon on , 30, 2015, at Woodlawn Memorial Park to be conducted by Rev. Dr. Dwayne Tyus. Obituary: WHITAKER, ROBERT L. - age 75, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on , 30, 2013. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Rose Lee Wumbles Whitaker, teacher and mentor Harold Wirth, and loved uncle and aunt, Ted and Blanche Whitaker Jones. He will be remembered with love and thankfulness by his wife of 50 years, Margie Harrington Whitaker. He was a loving father and grandfather to three sons and their families: Bob and Julie Whitaker, parents of Kayla, Luke, Rachel, Corrie and Matt; Pete and Annette Whitaker, parents of Katie; and Andy and Marianne Whitaker, parents of Sarah, Jordan, Susie, and Josh. Bob was a graduate of Fulton High School and worked as a draftsman before starting his own business (TDS Exhibits, Inc.) with his wife Margie. He always loved the challenge of designing and building, and he and Margie saw this business he loved as a gift from God to him. He passed his problem solving ability and his love for family to his sons. He will be remembered fondly by in laws and their families: Vic and Betsy Harrington Briscoe, Jerry and Rosemary Harrington Enos, R.E. and Joreita Harrington Scarbrough, and Glenard and Ann Harrington. Vic once said, "It is good to pay attention to Bob. He is right so doggone much of the time." The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 6:00 pm with the funeral service to follow at Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel. Graveside service will be 10:00 am at Lynnhurst .
