Mrs. Weeks was born in Bamberg on 11, 1935 to the late Reverend Henry Proveaux and Evelyn Gleaton Proveaux. She was a graduate of Art Beauty and a beloved member of Northwood Church. She was the owner of Del’s Beauty Shop, where she spent 47 years making her clients look and feel beautiful. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Willie Mae Knight and Carolyn Snell. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Louis Weeks. Obituary: Mrs. Cornelia White Weeks was born on May 16, 1946 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Cornelius and Fredrica Hines White. She departed this life on , May 23, 2017 at McLeod Regional Medical after an illness. Cornelia was educated in the public schools of Florence . She was formerly employed with Hornes/Country Hearth for over 30 years. She was a member of Shekinah Glory Seventh Day Adventist Church, where she served as a Deaconess, Sabbath School Secretary, a member of the Sanctuary Choir, and attended Vacation Bible School. She also performed community service in several different capacities. In addition to her parents, Cornelia was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Henry Weeks; mother-in-law, Roseanna Weeks; sister-in-law, Amy Williamson; and special aunt, Nellie Lowery. Those left to cherish her precious memories include: her daughters, Charlene (Doren) Townsend and Rosa L. (Kenneth) Frederick, both of Florence, SC; her son, Kevin C. She loved her South Carolina Stingray Hockey Team and was a 25 year season ticket holder as well as a member of the SC Stingrays Booster Association, a past member of the American Business Womans Association and Sea Island Republican Women Club. She was an avid tennis player for many years at the Charleston Tennis . Her ennis girls became her family. Carolyn loved to travel, and was a longtime friend and fan of the Lettermen. She was a longtime member of Ashley River Baptist Church where she served as a school teacher for many years. Carolyn adored her children and devoted most of her time to her family. She was a loving and dedicated wife, doting mother and a proud Maamaa. She trusted God in everything she faced, loved to sing hymns. She was a caring and selfless person who was always helping those in need. Obituary: Agnes Layton Weeks, 87, of Spartanburg, SC, died , 6, 2014, at White Oak Manor. Born 23, 1926, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Hugh Baxton Layton and Josephine McCauley Layton, and widow of James Robert Bobby Weeks, Sr. Mrs. Weeks was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church where she shared her beautiful soprano voice as a choir member. She was the first graduate of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic School and was taught by the Sisters of St. Francis. She was a legal secretary for the law firm of Taylor, Pruitt, and Discern. Surviving are her children, James Jamie Robert Weeks, Jr. and Christopher Chris Hugh Weeks (Barbara), all of Spartanburg, SC; special cousin, Louise McCarley; and her loving beagle-mix Gracie. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia Diane Weeks; brother, Hugh Bernard Layton; and aunt and best friend, Mary Louise McCauley. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM , 9, 2014, at Floyds North Church Street Chapel, 235 N. Church St., Spartanburg, SC 29306. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 1:00 PM , 10, 2014, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, by the Rev. Timothy M. Gahan and the Rev. Mr. Robert Mahaffey. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
