Obituary: Sarah Anne Fisher Warwick Sarah Anne Fisher Warwick, widow of Thomas Jefferson Warwick, cherished mother and precious Nana, peacefully departed this life morning, 3, 2017 and now resides in Heaven with her Living Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She is once again united with her beloved husband, freed from the physical shackles of this earthly life, and with the heavenly choirs praising and rejoicing in the Glory and Grace of God forevermore. Born the third child and only daughter to John Craig and Verna Smith Fisher on 22, 1938, Anne was born and raised in Greenville and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She met her future husband, Tommy, at a church ping pong tournament, and after a short courtship, he and Anne were married on 16, 1954. moved into his childhood home and raised three children. Their Christian home was warm and inviting and all were welcomed. When grandchildren came along, Anne, or Nana, as she can be called, delighted in caring for her grandchildren and never hesitated to do whatever she could to help. She was the best mother and Nana ever! While Anne was ALWAYS there for her family, Anne's love, affection and willingness to help others went far beyond family. Anne touched many lives and had a servant's heart which was evident in her actions. She was a trusted and reliable friend who never hesitated to say 'yes' when called upon. Most times, she didn't wait to be asked! No task was too large or incidental. If you needed her, without a doubt, she was there. From representing her daughter at a high school reunion to answering a midnight call for a sick friend or family member, she was 'all in'. A dedicated and faithful servant of the Lord, Anne had been a member of Earle Street Baptist Church for over 65 years and fulfilled various roles in Training Union, School, Wedding Committee, GA's and the Nursery. Anne was also a member of the church choir for over 40 years. Anne taught adult swimming at the YWCA for a number of years while her children were in school; later she transitioned into the secretarial field working at Buncombe Street Methodist Church, Metropolitan Baptist Church and with her husband, Tommy, in his insurance office. Anne enjoyed a wonderful life and sharing that life with others. From hosting a tailgating event at the Clemson games or having friends and family at the lake or the beach to church events, Anne wanted you to have fun, eat good and enjoy the fellowship. And we did! While Anne's unwavering love and support will be missed by all those who knew her, we all rejoice that she produced much fruit and is now with her Lord and Savior. Those left behind to continue her legacy of generosity and faithfulness and honor her memory include her sister-in-law Jean Warwick Bieger; Anne's children, Sally Warwick Clark, Jeff Warwick and his wife, Dimi, Cathy Warwick Harrison and her husband, Guy; her grandchildren Ivy Warwick Reed and husband, Benjamin, Jake Warwick and wife Carrie, Lee and Ross Harrison; and great grand-children Asa and Abel Reed. The family will receive friends , 5, 2017 from 4-6:00pm at The Mackey Mortuary. services will be conducted , 6, 2017 at 3:00pm at Earle Street Baptist Church, officiated by Dr. Stephen F. Clyborne. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers include her son, son-in-law, grandsons and close family friends. Gratitude and blessings are extended to all the staff at The Haven in the Village of Chanticleer for all the care, love and support given to Nana and, in fact, all of us. We truly became family over these years and we love you all so much. In addition, gratitude and blessings are extended to Anne's care team with Amedisys Hospice for whom we couldn't have gotten through these last few months. Your guidance and insight was a beacon and resource to us and we appreciate the compassionate care you gave to Nana. In lieu of flowers, it is respectfully requested that those desiring to honor Anne's life of faithfulness, submit a memorial to the Earle Street Baptist Church, Building Fund, 225 W. Earle Street, Greenville, SC 29609 or to the charity of one's choice. The Mackey Mortuary. Online registry avaiable www.mackeymortuary.com. |
