Obituary: Maxine Watson, 91 of Albany, passed away at the Samaritan Evergreen Hospice House. Maxine was born in Airlie, Oregon to W.E. and Zelma (Simpson) Williams on her great grandfathers donation land claim. She grew up in Airlie and was a member of the last graduating class of Airlie High School, 1942. On 11, 1949 she married Walter Frank Watson in Shedd. As Camp Adair took over the area, the family moved to the Riverside District of Linn where she would spend most of her life. Maxine started working at the OSU Physical Plant in 1942 and retired in 1986. She was a member of the Eagles and V.F.W. Auxiliaries. Maxine enjoyed volunteering at the Eagles, as well as reading, traveling, and gardening. She was especially fond of her animals; adopting as many as possible. Maxine is survived by her nieces, Shelley Stewart of Albany and Carol Jean Gowey of Hoquiam, Washington; and nephews, Scott Stewart of Portland, Mark Stewart of Albany, and Bobby Dean Pitman of Albany. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank; and sister, Dorice Stewart. A service will be in the mausoleum at Willamette Memorial Park on , 1 at 10:00am.
