Obituary: Esther Marie Blair Watkins was born on May 13th, 1941 in Bunch, OK, the daughter of Jesse Thomas and Katie Mayree (Evans) Blair. Esther was blessed with many brothers and sisters, Tom, George, Jack, Levi, Pearl and Eliza, all half brothers and sisters, and then her brothers and sisters, Jess, Lucy, Bob, Sandra, Bill, Helen Christine, and Margaret. She attended and graduated from Chilocco Indian School. On 27th, 1961, she and her sister, Margaret held a double wedding ceremony, and Esther became the bride of Junior Lee Watkins, in Stilwell, OK. This union was blessed with 41 years and three children, a son that didn survive birth, Teresa and Bobby. Esther was a hard working woman who made the most of what life had to offer. She worked as a housemother at the Oklahoma Childrens in Taft, OK, for 10 years, beginning in 1977. As soon as her job was done for the day, she was ready to take on her household. There were flower and vegetable gardens to tend, crocheting to do and goodies to make. She loved watching gardening and cooking shows. Cooking was a hobby and done out of love. There was no one who could top her pies, and holiday gatherings at Esthers house included her pumpkin pie, pecan pie, and her famous bundt cake! She was always up for a trip to see the sights somewhere new, and traveled this great country with her family. When she was at home, she kept company with her favorite canine companions. shared a special bond. She was warm and compassionate, and generous to a fault, yet had the ability to speak her mind and voice an opinion. She was blessed with a fantastic sense of humor, and pulled it out at the drop of a hat. Her husband passed from this life in 2002. She was always thrilled to hear her family would be gathering at her home to celebrate because it meant time with her grand and great grandchildren, Brendan and Destiny along with Paige, Amber and Bella. She loved them and was always so happy to spend the day with them. Her health began to fail her, and she passed from this life on , 18th, 2017 in Tulsa, OK with her family by her side. She was 75 years old. She leaves a void that will never be filled. Esther is preceded in death by her grandparents, Thomas and Margaret Blair, and Robert and Elizabeth Evans as well as her parents, her husband Junior, her infant son, and her brothers, Tom Blair, George Blair, Jack Blair, Levi Blair, Jess Blair, Bill Blair, and her sisters, Pearl Sissons, Eliza Ussrey, and Helen Christine Blair. Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Teresa Murphy of Sallisaw, OK and Bobby Watkins of the home in Hulbert, OK. She leaves one brother and three sisters, Bob Blair and wife Bertha of Tahlequah, OK, Lucy Allen of Ft. Gibson, OK, Sandra Beatty and husband James of Park Hill, OK, and Margaret Nixon of Broken Arrow, OK. She lives on in her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Brendan Chuculate of Muskogee, OK, and Destiny Dobson also of Muskogee, OK. The great grandchildren are Paige Dobson of Sallisaw, OK, Amber Edwards and Bella Edwards both of Muskogee, OK. She has two very special nieces, Angela Alderman and Laura Magee both of Broken Arrow, OK, as well as many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends and loved ones. |
