Obituary: Fred E. Whitington, age 59, of Stoutsville, passed away , 13, 2016 at the Fair Hope Hospice Facility in Lancaster. He was born 25, 1956 in Columbus, Ohio, the son of Rita A. Moshier Ousley and Hermal Ousley. Fred graduated from Vinton High School in 1975 and was a former employee of Anchor Hocking for 17 years. He was a member of United Steel Workers Union #578 and he enjoyed fishing, hunting, going to auctions and working on cars. Fred is survived by his mother, Rita Moshier Ousley of McArthur; his wife of 27 years, Grace Bentley Whitington; daughter, Becky Whitington Dillon of Stoutsville; son, Todd Mullins (Effie) of Wellston; brother, Richard Dean Whitington (Renee) of Canal Winchester; sister, Mary Lou Thacker (Troy) of Wellston; sister-in-law, Karen Whitington of Tucson, Arizona, as well as several brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Fred was preceded in death by his father, Hermal Ousley, and his brother, Ralph Whitington. She was born on 3, 1914 in Warren, Ohio, the daughter of the late Richard and Elizabeth Reynalt Hitchings. Lavinia Babe was a lifetime member of Warrens 1st United Methodist Church, was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and attended Hiram . She taught knitting, a hobby which she enjoyed. She played golf, bowling and enjoyed spending winters in Florida and summers at Lake Erie. She was an avid Bridge player and volunteered at Trumbull Memorial Hospital as a Play Lady. Memories of Lavinia Babe will be carried on by her daughter, Mary Beth McCoy of Ashtabula, OH, sons:, Robert R (Marsha) Whiting of Troy, OH and William C (Karen) Whiting of Ashtabula, OH, daughter, Marsha (David) King of Ashtabula, OH, nine grandchildren: Kim, Brad, Rick, Beth, Bob, Brian, Sue, Barb and Heather, fifteen great-grandchildren including her wonderful caretaker Megan Castle and eight great-great-grandchildren. Obituary: Fannie M. Whiting, 94, of Chester Township, passed away 10, 2010. Born 22, 1916, in Ira, she was a Chester Township resident for more than 80 years. Fannie attended Chester Seminary School and married Paul Whiting May 3, 1931, in Chester Township. Mrs. Whiting loved cooking and baking, winning several blue ribbons at the Great Geauga Fair with her pies. In her younger years, she loved to can and would do hundreds of quarts of veggies and fruits that her husband would grow. Fannie loved her family and they always came first. She was a great mom, grandmom and great-grandmother and she will be missed. Mrs. Whiting was also a caregiver, working with many families in their homes over the years. Survivors are her daughter, Sandi K. Mastrangelo and her beloved son-in-law, Frank Mastrangelo of Chester Township; her cherished grandchildren, Marlinda LeRoy of Chester Township, Kenneth P. (Paulette) Mescall of Roaming Shores and Mardee Parker of Chester Township; great-grandchildren, Michael P. and Matthew LeRoy, Kenny Mescall and Megan Parker; and her pal, Zoei, whom she called her "Little Puppy". She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Paul, in 1982; sons, William P. "Weezer" in 1989 and Robert "Unk" in 1999; grandson-in-law, Thomas Parker in 2004; parents, Levi Lutz and Fannie Lutz Richmond; and four sisters and four brothers. Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. at Gattozzi and Son , 12524 Chillicothe Road, Chester Township. A private family interment will be in Chester Township in Chester Township.
