Obituary: WALLING, Samuel Henry, age 85 of Miamisburg passed away evening 23, 2014 under the care of Hospice of Dayton. He was born one of eight children in Dayton on 26, 1928 to the late Michael S. and Emma (Schmitz) Walling. In addition to his parents, Sam was preceded by his daughter, Samantha Walling in 2007. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Rosemary (Conrad) Walling; his daughter, Connie Plisek of Miamisburg; grandchildren, Jesse and Katie (Adam), and great grandchildren, Jordyn and Jenna as well as many other extended family. Sam attended Oakwood High School and proceeded to join the Air Force as did many young men of his generation. He served during the Korean War completing his tour in 1953. Following his marriage to Rosemary, he worked for several years as a carpenter to support his family. He finally realized his career when he became director of maintenance for Bethany Lutheran Village and oversaw a great deal of their successful development and expansion over the years before he retired in the 90s. Sam was quite a character and dearly cherished his family and friendships. He loved to travel the rivers of America, enjoyed the simple pleasures of the outdoors and created treasured keepsakes for his family out wood. Sam was also a member of the American Legion. A memorial service will be hosted by the family 7:00 pm , 30, 2014 at Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore , Miamisburg. Springlawn , Williamsport, OH will serve as Sams final resting place and military honors will be served. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton at 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420. Obituary: WALLING, Rosemary, age 88 of Miamisburg, passed away, , 30, 2015 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born 3, 1927 in Atlanta, OH to the late Guy and Goldie (Van Fossen) Conrad. In addition to her parents, Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Samuel Henry Walling in 2014; her daughter, Samantha Walling in 2007 and siblings, Geraldine Conrad and Glen Conrad. She is survived by her daughter, Connie (Larry Coy) Plisek of Miamisburg; grandchildren, Jesse and Katie (Adam), great grandchildren, Jordyn, Jenna and Kara and her beloved cat, Dolly as well as many other extended family members. Rosemary was a 1946 graduate of Miamisburg High School and received her Bachelors of Education from Otterbein in 1950. She was a First grade and Kindergarten teacher, retiring from Miamisburg Schools after many years of dedicated service. She was active in her Alumni group and enjoyed many vacation with her husband on the Delta Queen. Additionally Rosemary pursued her interests of water color painting and knitting in her spare time. Family will receive friends and loved ones during a memorial gathering from 11:00 - 1:00 PM , 9, 2016 at Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore , Miamisburg. Obituary: Walling, Florence Ann, age 66, of Beavercreek passed away peacefully on , 20, 2016, at the Pristine of Beavercreek after a brief illness. She was born in Dayton on 3, 1949, the daughter of Raymond and Dorothy (Rose) Garrett, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her beloved son, Scott Walling , her niece, Carrie Eckstein and her nephew, Joseph Walling. Florence is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Jerome J. (Jerry) Walling; two sons, Brett Walling, Adam (Holly) Walling and their children, Drake, Stella and Scarlett; three sisters, Janet (Robert) Coblentz, Linda (Tom) Kerns, Sandra (Gary) Eckstein. She is also survived by numerous extended family members. Florence was the Valedictorian of Northridge High School Class of 1969 and went on to attend the University of Dayton on a Full Tuition Academic Scholarship. She graduated in the summer of 1972 with a Bachelor Degree in Education and furthered her education by attaining her Masters in Education in 2003 . Florence taught at Trotwood Jr. High School for 1 year, Studebaker Jr. High for 1 year and Weisenborn Jr. High School in Huber Heights for 2 years. She recently retired as a teacher in The Dayton Public School System after 19 years of service. Florence was an active member of The Church of the Ascension. A Loving Mother, Supporter of Scouting and her husband, she will be remembered by all and greatly missed. Prayers will be held at 9:45 a.m. on , 28, 2016 at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road at Grange Hall Road. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. from The Church of the Ascension, 2025 Woodman Drive. Final resting place will be in Calvary . The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-9 p.m. on , 27, 2016. Words can not express our appreciation for all the acts of kindness shown to our family during this trying time.
