Obituary: Keith L. Womble, 57, of Statesville passed away at his home on , 12, 2011. He was born in Forsyth on 5, 1953 a son of the late Clyde Womble and JoAnn Gordy Womble who survives and is of Germantown. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Kathy and his eldest son, Christian. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Debbie Garland Womble, whom he married 26, 1998 and loved more than life itself, his son, Andrew, of whom he was so very proud, his daughter-in-law, Xochitl, the wonderful mother of his pride and joy, his grandson, Landon. Also surviving is his "little brother", C.V. Womble and his wife, Kim of Fancy Gap, Va. and his baby sister, Deanna Joyce of King. Also surviving are his mother and father-in-law Claude and Irene Garland of Bakersville, N.C., whom he loved dearly. His extended family of his first wife, Kathy, and several nieces and nephews. Additional survivors include special friends, Jeff Taylor, Jeff Martin, Philip Wishon, Jap Johnson and Dena and Leko Myers, all of whom he thought of as family and last of all, his loving canine companions, Sophia and Stormy, who will miss him greatly. Keith touched the lives of all those he came in contact with. All who know him, knew him to be a kind and compassionate man with a forgiving heart. He was a man of integrity who stood by his convictions. A fierce defender of those he loved, with a soft gentle heart and gift for giving to those in need. It takes a big man to cry, and many the time has he shed tears for those hurting around him. He will be fondly remembered for all the qualities that made him the man he was, and sorely missed by those left behind as we try to heal the tremendous hole in our hearts. Keith was a Statesville business man and respiratory therapist and formerly served on the Statesville City Council. Services celebrating Keiths life will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. at Westmoreland Chapel of Bunch-Johnson with Rev. Henry Cook officiating. Members he served with on the Statesville City Council will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Obituary: Bertie Clark Womble, 66, of Holly Springs, died , 1, 2016 at her home in Holly Springs. Bertie was born 7, 1949 in Chocowinity, NC to the late Leland Dale Clark and Cleo Williams Clark. She was employed with Cooper Tools in Apex retiring with over 40 years of service. Bertie and Tommy enjoyed playing golf and were members of Devils Ridge Golf Club. She fought a valiant fight with breast cancer for over 26 years. Bertie was a member of New Hill Baptist Church. She was loved by many and will be held in memory forever. Bertie is survived by her husband of 35 years, Tommy Womble; brother, Dale Clark (Barbara); sisters, Jennifer Moore (Greg) and Marie Stewart (Don); father-in-law, Wallace Wayne Womble, Sr.; sisters-in-law, Patty McIver (Keith) and Phyllis Womble; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Service will be held 2pm , 4, 2016 at Apex Chapel, 550 W. Williams St., Apex, NC 27502. The family will receive friends 12-2pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at New Hill Baptist Church . Bertie requested that thanks be given to the love of her life, Tommy Womble, Jennifer Moore, Pam Greer, Nell Turner, Sue Green and Debbie Judd.
