Obituary: Leroy Mack Winebarger, 92, of Lenoir, went home to be with the Lord , 17, 2011 at his residence. Mr. Winebarger was born in Watauga to the late Grover Winebarger and Emma Wilson Winebarger. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Alex, Earl, Laney, Kent and James Worley Winebarger. He worked at Blue Bell for 20 years and retired as plant foreman from Pampco after 20 years and was a member of Hibriten Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Edith Adams Winebarger; sons, Larry Winebarger and his wife Earlene of Lenoir, Steve Winebarger and wife Betty of Hudson and Bobby Winebarger and his wife Vickie of Candler; daughters, Genise Icenhour and her husband Steve of Lenoir and Denise Annas and her husband Terry of Hudson; sisters, Alverta Stevens of Lenoir, Bessie Broyhill of Mauldin, SC and Faye Whittington of Hudson; nine grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held , 19, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. in Pendrys Chapel with the Reverend Douglas Cox officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons, Keith Winebarger, Bobby Winebarger, Jr., Allen Winebarger, Kevin Annas, David Winebarger and Chad Icenhour. The Winebarger family requests that memorials be made to the Hospice of Catawba Valley at 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, NC 28658. Ernie was born 28, 1953 in Burke , a son of the late Ernest Winebarger, Sr. and Ida Icard Barnes Winebarger. Before his illness he was formerly employed as a truck driver for Mull Concrete Co. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Carroll Bud Barnes, and sisters, Betty Smith and Judy Berry. Surviving are his life partner of 25 years, Cindy Carswell Hall of the home, a son Chad (Christi) Winebarger of Valdese, brothers, Dan Barnes of Morganton and Rocky Winebarger of Connelly Springs, a sister, Essie Mae Smith of Chesapeake, VA., and a brother-in-law, Richard (Mahayla) Berry of Valdese. Mr. Winebarger was born on 12, 1947 in Caldwell to the late Ambrose Millard Winebarger and Pearl Clarke Winebarger. Mr. Winebarger was a loving and dedicated father to his children. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving during the Vietnam War and he was a member of Calvary Freewill Baptist Church in Valdese. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother; Rick Winebarger, three sisters; Phyllis Stoots, Peggy Craig, and Lynn Greene. Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Preston Winebarger of Granite Falls, Shay Winebarger of Jacksonville Florida, and Dara Winebarger of Lenoir.
