Obituary: Mary Lee Sherrill Webb, age 80 of Dallas died 13, 2011 at her residence. She was a native of Gaston , daughter of the late Herbert and Hattie Kimbrell Sherrill. Mrs. Webb was owner of Webb Metals in Dallas and a member of the North Gaston Church of God. She is survived by three sons, Darrell D. Webb of Dallas, Eddie L. Webb of Cherryville, Doug Stamey of Gastonia; two daughters, Sheila W. Davis and husband Nathan of Dallas, Nancy Ledford of Gastonia; a sister, Lillie S. Wilson of Georgia;four grandchildren, Tonya D. Laws and husband Brian, Denise D. Horne and husband Cory, Yancey Webb, David Blackburn and wife Maria and four great grandchildren. Mrs. Webb was preceded in death by her parents, husband Arthur Red Webb Jr.; three brothers, James M. Sherrill, William M. Sherrill, Henry L. Sherrill; two sisters Pearl S. Hawkins and Rosie S. Lunsford. services will be 11:00 AM at the North Gaston Church of God 1310 Cherryville Hwy. Dallas, NC 28034 with Rev. Ted Smith and Rev. Andy Nicholson officiating. Obituary: Martha Christopher Webb, age 80, of Conover, passed away , 23, 2015 at her residence. Born 26, 1934, in Hickory, NC, she was the daughter of the late Charles Christopher and Edna Little Christopher. Martha was a graduate of Appalachian State University, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education. She was a teacher for many years in the Newton Conover school system. She was a charter member of Woodlawn Baptist Church in Conover. Marthas greatest love was her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling, playing bridge, spending time on the lake and at the beach. She enjoyed dancing and watching sports and she loved tending her flower garden and working in her yard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Jim Webb; her son, Scott Edward Webb; brother, Frank Christopher; sisters, Betty C. Simmons, and Linda K. Flowers. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Christie Webb Dean and husband, Steve of Charlotte; brothers, Clyde Tom Tommy Flowers, of Longview, Paul Monroe Junior Flowers, Jr., of Newton; grandchildren, McKenna James Dvorak, Samuel Kimball Webb, Anthony James A.J. Webb, and Maxwell Scott Webb; and her daughter-in-law, Melissa Johnson. The funeral will be at 2:00 p.m., , 26, 2015, at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Sherrills Ford, with Fred Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m., , 25, 2015 at Willis-Reynolds in Newton. Obituary: Margaret Oliver Webb, died peacefully on 26, 2014, at her home in Raleigh, NC, surrounded by loving family and friends, after a short but valiant struggle with cancer. A native of San Francisco, California, Margaret graduated from the Katherine Branson School in Ross, California. She attended Dartmouth and graduated cum laude in history and music from Smith , class of 1971. Margaret had a magnificent soprano voice and did post-graduate work at the Julliard School in New York City. She pursued an acting and musical career in New York City until she married Thomas Van Tine Hart in 1976, and moved to Raleigh, NC, where she was the Director of Promotion and Assistant Creative Director of WPTF Radio from 1976 to 1980 with her own on air interview program. Throughout her life she continued to be active in local community theater. Margaret was always active in state and national Democratic politics, serving as Press Secretary to Lt. Governor James Green from 1980 to 1984, and as the Communication Officer for the North Carolina General Assembly from 1981 to 1987. From 1987 to 1997, she pursued a career as an independent writer, editor and public relations consultant. She was the founder, owner-publisher and editor of Triangle Lifestyle Magazine from 1997 to 2003. From 2005 to 2013, she served as the Director of Advocacy and Fund Development for the Girl Scouts North Carolina Coastal Pines Council. In 2014, she opened her own consulting firm, Webb Communications,with clients including the North Carolina Department of and Human Resources. An avid bridge player, gardener and reader, Margaret lived life fully. She was a member of the Junior League of Raleigh and the Raleigh Professional Women's Forum. She served on the board of numerous volunteer and advisory organizations, including the NC Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America, the Wake Women's Commission, and the Raleigh Human Relations Commission. Margaret is survived by her son Thomas Webb Hart ("Webb") of Windsor CA, her sisters Harriet Lawrence Webb of San Anselmo, CA and Susan Hossfeld of Napa, CA and a brother, Peter Webb of San Rafael, CA, and many devoted friends who will miss her generous heart, her zest for life, her sparkling wit and her vast musical talents. A memorial service to celebrate Margaret's life will be held on , 5, 2014 at 3pm at Christ Church, 120 East Edenton St. in Raleigh.
