Obituary: Ret. MSG Daniel Raymond Wanken, 79, died , 17, 2016 at Highsmith-Rainey Specialty Hospital. Daniel was born 23, 1937 in Clarion, Iowa, to the late Peter and Gladys Smith Wanken. In addition to his parents Daniel was predeceased by six sisters. Daniel served in the 82nd , 101st and 11th Airborne Division and 1st and 5th Special Forces of the US Army and retired after 20 year as a Master Sergeant. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus for over thirty years. Visitation will be , 23, 2016 from 7 to 9 pm at Reeves . A Wake Service will be conducted at 7:15 pm by Father Gaul and a Rosary will be given by the Knights of Columbus at 8:00 pm. Those left to mourn his passing are his wife, Gae L. Wanken; son, Jeffery Wanken; daughter, Deanna Ham; adopted daughters, Joanne Van Horne and Caryn Beecher; brother, Eugene Wanken; twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends. |

Obituary: Yu-Hsiung Wang of Cary, NC went home to be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on , 12, 2010 at 10:35pm after a bout with liver disease. He was 84 years old. Mr. Wang was born on 27, 1926 in Bejing, China. He is the sixth child of Shu-Sheng Wang and Shu-Zheng Jing. He married Mei Chen of Tianjing, China on 7, 1955. were married for 21 years until she died in 15, 1976. He earned a Bachelors degree in English from the National Kaohsiung Normal University of Kaohsiung, Taiwan, and a Masters degree in Educational Leadership from the University of West Florida in Pensacola, Florida. He was a Chief Deputy Officer in the Chinese Customs for 40 years. He was also a lecturer in English at Kaohsiung Medical School, Taiwan. He was born and raised in China. He moved to Taiwan where he lived for 45 years. In 1994, he emigrated to the United States where he spent his last 16 years. In 1981 he was baptized at Kaohsiung Mandarin Church in Kaohsiung, Taiwan after he professed his faith in his Lord Jesus Christ. Mr. Wang was a man who loved life. A big part of his loving life was making us laugh. We enjoyed laughing with him. He was never too big a man to laugh even at himself. He was the life of the party- in many ways he was the party. It was his laughter and zest for life that endeared him to us all. We saw the outer man, but it was his inner man in Christ that was the Source of his strength to live life to its fullest. In fact, his faith was his life. He did not hide it. He confessed it freely to all. Above all, he loved God. And in loving God, he loved the life that God gave him. He was a faithful man with an enduring love for his wife. She died at a young age of 44. Although he was in the prime of his life, he never remarried, but spent the rest of his life remembering and honoring her. He is survived by his brother Yu-Bing Wang; his sisters Jing Yuen Wang and Jing Hua Wang; his children Loong Hsian Wang, Wei Hsiang Wang, and Nee-na Wang Jesalva; his daughter-in-law Wen Wen Lin; his son-in-law Orlando Jesalva; and his grandchildren Ching Wang, Caroline Jesalva, and Jonathan Jesalva. His memorial service will be held on , 23, 2010 at 1:30pm at Peace Presbyterian Church in Cary, NC. Rev. Brian Diver of Kings Park International Church in Durham, NC will officiate the service. Pallbearers are Jim Wang, Orlando Jesalva, Joshua Niu, Charles Lin, Wu Jun, and Jiang Ming Ya. A gravesite ceremony will be held after the service. Following the burial, a Celebration of a Wonderful Life will be held in the church fellowship hall. Visitation will be held on , 22, 2010 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm at Brown-Wynne in Cary, NC. He will be interred at Wake Memorial Park in Cary, NC. There was a great outpouring of love from family and friends from all over the world during the last days of Mr. Wangs life. The family would like to thank each one of you. We especially want to thank the brothers and sisters of Kings Park International Church, Mr. Wangs home church. Their expression of love and caring, and their prayers displayed the true beauty of Christs Bride, His church. Three words sum up Mr. Wangs life: faith, strength, laughter.
