Obituary: Barbara Wallner, age 84, passed from this life on , 16, 2015. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am , 21, 2015, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Hickory, NC, with Fr. Larry LoMonaco officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park in Hickory, NC. Barbara was born on 27, 1930, in Bavaria, Germany to Xavier and Katharina Kummetsteiner Rittler and was the eldest of seven children. her mother’s passing when Barbara was 14, she took on the responsibility of raising her six siblings. At the age of 20, she met Josef Wallner when he returned from serving during WWII. married on May 5, 1951, and in 1954, with their three-year-old daughter they immigrated to Toronto, Canada. Two years later they relocated to New York state where their son was born. Barbara was an excellent homemaker and mother, and also worked outside the home. Upon Josef’s retirement, they came to North Carolina and resided there from 1986 until Josef’s passing in 2000. She moved to Wisconsin in 2001 to be near her daughter’s family, and recently returned to Catawba North Carolina to be near her son and his family. Barbara’s greatest joy in life was caring for and spending time with her family. Barbara is survived by her daughter, Sonja Mulertt and husband Heinz of Cedarburg, WI; son, Armin Wallner and wife Colleen of Hickory, NC; granddaughters Devin Mulertt, Vanessa Clark and husband Adam, Amber Wallner and husband Roger Wiltse; great-granddaughter Sophia Wiltse Wallner; sisters Maria Allwang and Erika Beer; brothers Josef Rittler and Georg Rittler. She was preceded in death by her brothers Rudolph Rittler and Xavier Rittler. Memorial contributions may be made in Barbara’s name to Portal Inc., 1015 Cedar Creek Rd., Grafton, WI 53024. Obituary: Clara Ann Gardner Wallis, 89, passed away peacefully into the presence of her Lord, on 13, 2011 in Wilmington, NC. She was born on 7, 1921 in Brunswick, GA to her parents, the late Jack McCreary and Clara Briesenick Gardner. She is lovingly remembered by her children; Jack B. Wallis of Hawaii, Dr. Richard G. Wallis and his wife Jean of Jacksonville, FL, James W. Wallis of Clinton, SC, Clara Ann Wallis of Greensboro, NC, Mary Alice Walker and her husband Greg of Lenoir, NC, Janet Ruth Wallis of Wilmington, NC, and Margaret Linda Stell and her husband Brett of Colfax, NC and her precious dog, Whiskey Wagon. She will also be missed by her nine grandchildren and one great grandchild in waiting. Preceded in death by her husband Jack B. Wallis, Sr., brothers, Jack Gardner, Charles G. Gardner, and Marion Gardner and her sister, Barbara Chamberlain She was a longtime member of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, a founding member of the Fallon Park Garden Club of Raleigh, and a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends on , 18th from 7pm to 9pm at Mitchell , 7209 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh. A graveside service will be held on 19th, at 1:00pm at Raleigh Memorial Park. Special thanks to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice in Wilmington, NC for all their love and support shown to Clara.
