Obituary: Mrs. Frances McGuire Walker Mrs. Walker, age 83, of Charlotte passed away , 9, 2010 at Presbyterian Hospital Main. She was born 2, 1927 in Catawba , North Carolina to the late Kelly Marshall McGuire and Effie Berry McGuire. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, C.C. Walker; sister, Oneda Ferber; and nephew, Tom Ferber. Frances was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time in the company of close friends. Her family was the most important thing in her life. She adored her grandchildren and they were her greatest joy in life. Surviving are her daughter, Kathy Odom and her husband Scott of Charlotte; her beloved granddaughters, Meredith and Brooke Odom; sister, Becky Reese of Hickory, NC; three nieces; four nephews; and many great nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm , 17, 2010 at Sharon Presbyterian Church, 5201 Sharon Road, Charlotte, NC 28210. The family would like to thank the staff of Harris Hospice Unit for their special care of Mrs. Walker during her illness, especially: David, Ann, Teresa, Linda, Seble, and all who shared their warmth and compassion with the family. Obituary: Floy Marie Johnson Walker, of Old Fort , NC, passed away on , 17, 2016 at John F. Keever, Jr. Solace in Asheville, NC surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Walker was born on 25, 1929 to the late Ashley and Jewel Johnson in Irwin Georgia. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Old Fort and worked as a Librarian there for many years. Mrs. Walker enjoyed making crafts and also taught knitting throughout the years. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her son, Ray Hobby and step-sons Lee and Lynn Walker; four brothers, J. T. Hayes, Hardy Johnson, Lacy Johnson, and r Johnson; two sisters, Maggie Coker and Flora Wilkerson. Surviving Mrs. Walker are her husband of 47 years, Clarence Chuck Walker of the home, a daughter, Sheila (Jim) Roach; a grandson, Jimmy (Alicia) Roach; great-grandchildren, JJay Roach, Elijah Roach, and Lily Roach, all of Campobello, SC. A Service was held on , 21, 2016 at 2:30PM at First Baptist Church of Old Fort with Pastor David Blackwelder officiating. The family received friends one hour prior to the service.
