Obituary: CHARLES EDWARD WALKER CONOVER- Charles E. Walker, 81 of Conover went home to be with his Lord on 21, 2015. Born 7, 1934 to the late David and Willie Mae Walker in Catawba . Charles was a lifelong member of Springs Road Baptist Church in Hickory. Charles was a devoted husband, father, and Papa. He enjoyed spending time with his family, outdoors, and working on cars. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by brothers; Bobby Walker, James Walker, Alvin Walker, George Walker, and David Walker, Jr., and in-laws; Theodore and Ruby Hinson. Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years Mary Lou Hinson Walker, daughters; Regina Walker Tuttle and husband Doyle of Claremont, and Charlene Walker Schlitt and husband Christopher of Vero Beach, FL, grandchildren; Dylan Walker-Shook and wife Natalie, Clayton Schlitt and fiancée Nadine Balbi, Taylor Schlitt, Megan Shook, Holly Tuttle and fiancé Joshua Hamilton, and Derick Shook and fiancée Aimee Deal, great-grandchildren; Drew Walker-Shook, Taylen Shook, and Haley Hamilton, sisters; Eloise, Betty, Carrie Jane, and Dianne, his loving dog Casper, and many nieces, nephews, close extended family members and friends. Obituary: Carolyn White Walker Mrs. Walker, 86, of Charlotte passed away peacefully on , 26, 2009, at Asbury . Born in Winston-Salem on 6, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Evelyn Baines White and Ira Hill White where she graduated from Grey High School of Winston-Salem. Carolyn worked with her husband, Ormel (Bud) H Walker, Jr. at O. H. Walker Insurance Agency, Inc. from 1965 until her retirement in 1988. She is survived by her son, Ormel (Buddy) H Walker, III, his wife, Sylvia S Walker, and their daughters, M Walker, Alison W Priory, her husband Ricky Priory, and great-granddaughters Mackenzie and Madeline Priory. She is also survived by a sister, Elizabeth (Sis) Wingate from Renton, WA and a brother Bruce White, Winston-Salem, NC and many nieces and nephews whom she loved. She was predeceased by sisters, Hilda Parks, Lucille Wright and brothers, Calvin White and Joe Bill White. Carolyn was a member of Hawthorne Lane United Methodist Church since 1951 and the Miller School Class. She and Bud made numerous friends at their church and enjoyed many years of traveling with them. Carolyn loved working in the yard and growing beautiful flowers and was an excellent cook who enjoyed teaching her grandchildren how to cook and sharing meals with friends and family in times of need. The family will receive friends at Harry and Bryant , 500 Providence Road, Charlotte, NC on , 29, 2009 from 2-4 p.m. with a service to celebrate her life on at 11:00 a.m. at Hawthorne Lane United Methodist Church, 501 Hawthorne Lane, Charlotte, NC. Interment in the churchs memorial garden will be private. The family wishes to thank all Carolyns caregivers at Aldersgate/Asbury for the last three years who treated her with love and dignity. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be sent to Hawthorne Lane UMC, 501 Hawthorne Lane, Charlotte, NC 28204. Harry & Bryant is serving the family. |
