Obituary: Richard S. Wackell of Auburn, formerly of Shrewsbury, died , 16, 2014 in the Rose Monahan Hospice , Worcester. He leaves his wife of 61 years, Rita (Mierzejewski) Wackell, daughter, Sharon Bangs and her husband Paul of Charlton; son, Richard J. Wackell and his wife Kim of Shrewsbury; three grandchildren, Jason P. Bangs of Charlton and Michael J. Wackell and Matthew R. Wackell, both of Shrewsbury; his sister, Vivian Jakubaitis and her husband Stanley of Wethersfield, CT., and nieces and nephews. Richard was the son of the late Stanley and Antonia (Glavickas) Wackell and was born in Worcester. Raised on The Island section of Worcester, he attended Providence Street School and later Classical High School. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years, stationed in San Diego, CA. He received his Bachelor Degree in 1952 from The of the Holy Cross. In 1962, Dick went into business with this father establishing Wackell Insurance. He sold the agency in 1988 to his son Richard and continued to work there until 2012. Dick was a daily communicant at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, as well as a member of the Alumni Sodality of Our Lady at Holy Cross . He was also a member of Central Massachusetts Football Officials Board (where he served as Secretary/Treasurer for over 25 years), The Bohemians, The Presidents Club of Holy Cross and the Massachusetts Independent Insurance Agents. Dick loved his sports. He loved the comradery he shared with his fellow football officials and enjoyed following the New England sport teams, the Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics. He looked forward to the Super Bowl parties at the Columbus Civic and the Emerald Isle. He also had the thrill of watching his grandchildren perform athletically and in school plays and music performances. The funeral was held on , 20, 2014 from HENRY - DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., Worcester with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in North American Martyrs Church, 8 Wyoma Drive. Entombment was in Notre Dame Mausoleum, Worcester. Calling hours in the funeral home were held on , 19, 2014, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. |

Obituary: MILLBURY – John J. Wackell died 18, 2014, after a valiant battle with Alzheimers. John is survived by his wife, Joan A. (Berard) Wackell. He also leaves his loving family, Robin M. Pond and her husband, Robert Pond, of Webster, Michael J. Wackell, Sr. and his wife, Diane M. Wackell, of Millbury, Paul F. Wackell of Worcester, and Scott A. Wackell of Webster. He also leaves his grandchildren, Alicia T. Wackell, Michael J. Wackell, Jr. and his wife Lauren A. Wackell, Maegan E. Wackell and significant other David Jordan, and Sophia R. Wackell. Additionally, he leaves 3 great grandchildren Michael, Zachary and Khloe Mazzilli, and a close cousin Peter Stanley of Oxford. An only son, John was predeceased by his parents John Sr. and Pauline Wackell. He will be tenderly remembered and greatly missed. During his lifetime John was an artist and framer, consultant, construction project manager, and builder. Always artistic, John turned to art following his retirement and opened a gallery and frame shop in his Millbury home. He developed a unique style of striking and precise pen and ink line drawings. His work was exhibited on Cape Cod and locally. He framed art for several local commercial projects as well as for individual clients. John also owned J.J. Wackell, Consultant and worked with architectural firms including Dixon Salo of Worcester, MA. John provided project management expertise for multiple large construction projects including senior high-rise buildings, a college in Springfield, the Massachusetts prison system, and several large building projects in the Boston area. John was a graduate of Worcester Junior , Worcester Boys Trade and was especially proud of having graduated from Classical High School which was then rated among the best high schools in Massachusetts. John was a Staff Sergeant with the Massachusetts Air National Guard – 101st Aircraft Control & Warning Flight, and was called up to serve in Germany during the Cold War from 1961 to 1962. Johns family extends thanks to the staff at Millbury and Compassionate Hospice for providing physical and spiritual comfort to him during his last days and for supporting us throughout this journey. Johns funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on , 21st in Mulhane for s, 45 Main St. in Millbury. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. on , 20th in the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be held in Central in Millbury. Obituary: Janet (Orzech) Wacht, 81, of Eastham, MA died on , 15, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Until she was taken from us so suddenly, Janet was living her life to the fullest. She was very active and loved spending time with dear friends and family in CT and on the Cape. She volunteered at St. Joan of Arc thrift shop and the Eastham dump "swap shop" for many years. She was also actively involved in many social groups; including Mah-Jongg, word games, lunch bunch and the Full moon parties, where she developed deep friendships. She loved the Cape since she started coming as a child and it was a dream fulfilled, to eventually live there. Janet was born on 6, 1934 in Hartford, CT to Joseph and Alice Orzech. It was in Hartford where she was raised, graduated from Bulkeley High School, married her beloved husband Frank and they raised their family. While still in Hartford she was an active and long-time parishioner of St. Cyril and Methodius Church and was a keeper of Polish traditions passed down from her parents. She worked for 17 years for the Hartford Public Schools, where she was honored as Para-Professional of the year. She said the most important role in her life though, was as a mother. Janet was a loving wife and mother and a dear friend and would wish that she be remembered that way. She loved sunsets and a good thunderstorm and used words like sky blue pink to describe the color of the sky. She was a wonderful cook and felt that dark chocolate was meant to be eaten daily. Her fairly quiet but strong presence will be greatly missed. She was pre-deceased by her beloved husband Frank Wacht and her sister Melanie Orzech. She is survived by her son Francis Wacht of Berlin, CT, his former wife Julia Wacht of Newington, CT and their children Kathleen and Peter; her daughter Susan and her wife Emily Wickman of Portland, CT; her son Daniel Wacht and daughter-in-law Jamie Wacht of Eastham, MA and their children Sydney and Ethan; her cousin Alexandra Beal of Old Wethersfield, CT and her brother Joseph Orzech of California. There will be a celebration of her life at Nickerson in Orleans, MA on , 8, 2016 from 9:00 till 10:30am, followed by an 11:00am Mass at St. Joan of Arc Church in Orleans, MA. Obituary: Lorraine T. (Fay) Wachsman, a longtime resident of Bridgewater, died unexpectedly, on , 9, 2010 at her home. She was 62 years old. Born on 26, 1948 in Boston, she was one of nine children of the late Frederick Fay and Anna (Condon) Fay. Lorraine was raised in both Magnolia and Rockport. attending Middle School in Magnolia, her family moved to Rockport where she graduated from Rockport High School. She was a graduate of Salem State , Class of 1970 and became a school teacher. For over 30 years, she worked for the Town of Randolph as a Middle and Junior High School teacher. her retirement, she continued to enjoy teaching as a substitute for Bridgewater Middle Schools. An active member of her community, Lorraine had been a friend of Bill W. for over 25 years and had mentored hundreds of women to recovery. She will be lovingly remembered by her family members and many friends. Lorraine was the loving sister of Brenda Taylor of Manchester, New Hampshire, Karen Jylkka of Rockport, Richard Fay and his wife Diana of Saugus, Barbara Fay of Manchester, New Hampshire, Mary Cox of Fairbanks, Alaska, Paul Fay and his wife Peggy of Rockport, John Fay of Everett, and the late Peter Fay. She also leaves her aunt, Eileen Warner of Randolph, as well as many loving nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Lorraine’s Life will be held at the Knights of Columbus, 582 Bedford St. (Rt. 18), BRIDGEWATER, on 11, 2010 at 7:00 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
