Obituary: Elizabeth Miss Betty Woodier, 97, died peacefully in her sleep on 6, 2017 in a local area nursing home. Elizabeth Burns was born on 3, 1919 in Dundee, Scotland. She came to the United States at age 7 with her mother, Margaret and sisters Margaret, Mary and Helen to join her father, James Burns. She grew up in Patterson, New Jersey where she married her late husband, Alfred S. Woodier. later moved to West Milford, New Jersey to raise their two children Carol and Robert. She moved from New Jersey to Lake Charles in 1983 and spent 24 years working at the Walmart stores in Moss Bluff. Miss Betty loved flowers and gardening. She was a former member of the Red Hat Society and an active member of the Moss Bluff Seniors. She loved to play bingo and was also an avid New Orleans Saints fan. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her sisters. Miss Betty is survived by her daughter, Carol Bartoszek and husband John of Lake Charles, her son, Robert Woodier and wife Margaret of West Milford, New Jersey, five grandchildren, Kenneth Bartoszek of Lake Charles, Karen Wilkinson and husband Dwaine of Moss Bluff, Kristin Dowling and husband Edward of Hewitt, N.J., Nicole Casale and husband Christopher of Haskell N.J., and Robert Woodier Jr. of West Milford N.J and nine grandchildren, Brian and Kailey Wilkinson, Victoria, Melanie and Brianne Dowling, Gavin, and Alexis Casale, and Andrew and Sarah Woodier.. Visitation will be held on 8, 2017 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Hixson in Moss Bluff. She will then be cremated and sent to New Jersey for an additional service and burial next to her husband. Obituary: Edmond Moses Woodfork Sr. was received by our Heavenly Father on 16, 2015 at the age of 76. He born on 12, 1939 to the union of Papa and Dada Woodfork in New Orleans, La. Edmond was raised with 6 bothers and sisters. He accepted Christ at an early age. On 16, 1959 he married the love of his life, Shirley Mae Hirst. Together they raised three children, Edmond Moses Woodfork, Jr., Terriann Smith and Stephanie Michell Woodfork Toliver. At the time of his passing he leaves to cherish in his memory his beloved wife Shirley Woodfork; his son Edmond Woodfork Jr. (Sharon); his daughters Terriann Smith (Milton) and Stephanie Toliver (Kevin). He also leaves 5 grandchildren, Alex Woodfork, Christina Leslie, Duncan Smith, Kevin Toliver II and Tyler A. Toliver along with 1 great grandchild Derrick DJ Leslie. He is survived by his brother Eric Woodfork, sister Erma Antonio and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Edmond was a loving godly man and was a joy to be around. He was affectionately known as Potner or Killer. He was a wonderful, amazing, caring and wise husband, father and friend. He devoted his life to loving and caring for his family Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a memorial service at 10:00 AM on , 25, 2015 at Oakland B.C., 825 Rev .Richard Wilson Dr., Kenner, LA 70062. Obituary: SARAH JANE WOODEN COX FUNERAL HOME BASTROP, LOUISIANA services for Mrs. Sarah Jane Wooden will be held 2:00 p.m. , 2, 2017 at the Chapel of Cox of Bastrop with Bro. Tony Campanele and Bro. Todd Wooden officiating. Committal services and burial will follow at New Forest , Forest, Louisiana under the direction of Cox . Sarah Jane Patrick Wooden, a retired realtor, was born 24, 1942 in Forest, Louisiana to the late Tempe McVay Patrick and Henry Willis Patrick. She passed away , 29, 2017 in Bastrop, Louisiana following an extended illness. Along with her parents, Sarah is preceded in death by two sisters, Billie Shaw and Shirley Pratt. Sarah and Bobby made their home and raised their boys in DeRidder, Louisiana where Bobby was a manager for West Brothers Department Stores. Sarah was always active in her church, the boys schools, the local hospital, womens sororities, and civic groups. She served as a school teacher, a Girl Scout Leader, hospital social services director, and a PTA volunteer at all of her sons sporting events. Family always came first for Sarah. the boys were through with their education, she began her business career; working as a successful real estate agent and fabric salesperson while also partnering with Bobby in several businesses. a successful career and travelling they retired home to Bastrop where she lived the rest of her life. Sarah is survived by her husband of fifty-nine years, Bobby Wooden, her two sons, Bobby Laine Wooden and his wife Mandy and James Douglas Wooden and his wife Lisa, and six grandchildren, Danielle Smith and husband Roger, Josh Wooden, Emma Wooden, Rebecca Wooden, Sarah Wooden and Jake Wooden. She is also survived by three sisters, Judy Withers, Brenda Evans, and Becky Lewis and her husband, Buster, brother-in-law, Mike Wooden and his wife Vicki, and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Serving as pallbearers are Laine Wooden, Josh Wooden, Mike Wooden, Jimmy Wooden, Buster Lewis, and John Pratt. The family will receive friends beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on , 1, 2017 at Cox of Bastrop. |
