Obituary: "God saw you getting tired, and a cure was not meant to be, so he put his arms around you and whispered Come to me. With tearful eyes we watched you, as we saw you pass away. Although we loved you deeply, we could not make you stay. Your golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best. Our heart still aches with sadness, and secret tears still flow, what it meant to love you-no one could ever know. But now we know you want us to mourn you for no more, to remember all the happy times, life still has much more in store. Since youll never be forgotten, we pledge to you today." A hollowed place within our hearts is where youll always stay. Ross E. Williams went to be with the Lord on , Nov. 10, 2009, at age 84. He was a native of Bernice and a resident of Baton Rouge for 62 years. Ross was a decorated Navy World War II veteran. He was instrumental in organizing the Emergency Response Unit of the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality. He also retired from U.S. Steel and worked at Uniroyal and Ethyl refineries. Ross was also a member of Oakcrest Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Evelyn Smith Williams; daughter, Linda Marcus and husband Jesse, of Baton Rouge; son, Jeff Williams and wife Allyson, of The Woodlands, Texas; daughter, Roslyn McCoy and husband Ken, of Ringgold, Ga.; son, Roger Williams and wife Linda, of Kingwood; daughter, Phyllis McFadden and husband Robert, of Watson; a brother, Tommy Williams, of Farmerville; also survived by 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The visitation and funeral services will be at Greenoaks chapel, 9595 Florida Blvd., on , Nov. 13, from 9 a.m. until service at noon, conducted by his son-in-law, the Rev. Ken McCoy. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Burial will be in Greenoaks Memorial Park. |

Obituary: BOSSIER CITY, LA - Rose Marie Bossier Williams, 84, passed away , 17, 2017, surrounded by her family. She was born in Rusk, TX on 12, 1932, to Phillip and Marie Bossier. A Celebration of Life Service will be held , 19, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. at Hill Crest Memorial . Interment will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. prior to the service. Rose is preceded in death by her parents, Phillip and Marie Bossier; sister, Doris Smelser; and daughter, Linda Marie Corley Payne. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, George; two granddaughters, Holly Ludwick (Andrew), and Emily Fonseca (Terry); sister, Joyce Evans (John); brother, Gary Bossier (Wanda); son-in-law, Alan Payne (Linda); great-granddaughter, Victoria Daigle; great-grandsons, David and Daniel Fonseca, John Caleb Daigle, Trae and Tanner Fonseca; and many nieces and nephews. Rose was a devoted wife, grandmother, mother and business woman. She actively ran the family business alongside her husband until her retirement. Pallbearers include Jerry Dixon, Dan Lucas, Andrew Ludwick, Terry Fonseca, Christopher Harville, Ernest Palmisano, III, and Larry Holman, Jr. Honorary pallbearers are David and Daniel Fonseca, John Caleb Daigle, Alan Payne, John Evans, Jr., John Evans, Sr., and Gary Bossier.
