Loving mother of Charles Gene Ward and the late Judith Ward Vizzini. Loving sister to the late Jack Collier. Lillie was the proud and loving grandmother of Peggy Vizzini Bodet, Colleen Vizzini Reilly, Joseph Jacob Vizzini Jr., Charles Everett Ward and the late Christopher Charles Ward. Proud great-grandmother to Kimberly Ward, Colin Reilly, Patrick Reilly, Anthony Bodet, Vincenzo Vizzini, Daniel Reilly and Julia Bodet. Lillie was born to the late William Jack Collier and Dorothy Louise Dial in Atlanta, Georgia on 22, 1926. She became a lifelong resident of the New Orleans area, most recently living in Jefferson Parish. Lillie retired from her position of Chief Operator for Bell South after 33 years. Lillie was a parishioner of St. Agnes Catholic Church and was a member of the Altar Society. She also served in community service with the Telephone Pioneers of America and was a dedicated patron of the Arts, donating talent, funds and fund-raising to the Rivertown Repertory Theatre and other live performance cultural centers. Affectionally known to all as Nana, she will be forever cherished and missed. Obituary: Larry Lloyd Ward, 77, formerly of Bogalusa, Louisiana, Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Southaven, Mississippi, passed away on 12, 2015 in Ruston, Louisiana following a brief illness. Larry was born on 27,1938 in Bogalusa, Louisiana and was a 1956 graduate of Varnado High School. He moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1967 and received his BA from Louisiana State University in May 1972. Larry was employed through the years at several radio and television stations in Baton Rouge as a Broadcast Engineer. He spent his last years employed at Louisiana Public Broadcasting and retired in of 2004. He was appointed chair of the Emergency Alert System for the state of Louisiana 1997-2000 and was instrumental in getting the Amber Alert system integrated in the State of Louisiana. He was a member of University Baptist Church in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He is survived by his former spouse of 50 years, Mary Kenelly Ward of Spartanburg, South Carolina; his son Dr. John (Kim) Ward of Ruston, Louisiana; his daughter Dr. Lisa (Richard) Ward Weir of Spartanburg, South Carolina; his daughter Dr. Ashley Ward Fish of Pensacola, Florida and seven grandchildren; Anna Ward, Margaret Ward, Evan Ward, Forest Weir, William Weir, Annelise Weir, and Christian Fish. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd William Ward and Lillie Mae Seal Ward. Hobbies included being a part of the Amateur (Ham radio) operating community and a fan of aviation. Obituary: Kenneth V. Ward, Sr. passed away on 3, 2017 at the age of 98. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary Early Ward; daughter, Kathleen Ward Stuckey; parents, Isabel Vignes Ward and Charles Pierce Ward; and brothers, Charles Pierce Ward, Jr. (Dorothy Walker) and James Montgomery Ward. He is survived by his son, Kenneth V. Ward, Jr. (Constance); daughter, Susan K. Ward; and son-in-law, Dr. Thomas C. Stuckey, Sr. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren, Tania Ward Vining (Paul), Jennifer Ward Gremillion (Pierre), Brent Ward (Sandi), Lauren Ward Fostel (Clay), Kara Stuckey Doherty (Alan), Aimee Stuckey Kilchrist (Jason), Dr. Thomas C. Stuckey, Jr. (Becky), and Ryan Ward Rivet (Lauren); twenty one great grandchildren, Alexandra, Jack, Nicholas, Benjamin, Gabriel, Lucas, Stella, Lola, Sophie, Michael, Ava, Kathleen, Connor, Hannah, Isabel, Lucy, Amelie, Caroline, Ella, Finnegan, and Greyson; and first cousins, Br. Thomas A. Ward, FSC and John E. Ward. Mr. Ward proudly served in WWII in the U. S. Army as a Chief Warrant Officer in the 77th Railroad Battalion in the European Theatre from 1941-1946. He married Rosemary Early Ward on May 31, 1943 at St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans, La. He and his new bride were stationed at Camp Scott near Fort Wayne, Indiana prior to leaving for Europe. Following his war service, he worked for the Veterans Administration and assisted in executing the education benefits of the GI Bill to the veterans in New Orleans, La. His military uniform is displayed as a permanent exhibit in the WWII Museum in New Orleans, La. He took advantage of the GI Bill and attended Loyola University Law School from 1950-1953. He received his Law Degree from Loyola University in New Orleans and was a practicing attorney for 60+ years. He was a lifelong New Orleans resident who grew up uptown and attended Alcee Fortier High School. He was a history buff and was a voracious reader and could discuss any period of history with ease. He was devoted to his family and was an avid Saints fan. He attended the first Saints game in Tulane Stadium with his son Kenneth, Jr. One of his happiest moments was witnessing the Saints Super Bowl Victory! He and his wife of 70 years, Rosemary, loved to travel nationally and internationally; however, their greatest joy was entertaining their family and friends in their home in Lake Vista. were well known in their parish, St. Pius X and attended Mass regularly. Having been married at St. Louis Cathedral, they observed the celebratory tradition with other couples married at St. Louis Cathedral at the annual mass. Obituary: Julia Berthelot Ward of Mandeville, LA aged 100 years, died peacefully of natural causes on 24, 2010. She took her last breath while a circle of her family surrounded her. Her heart, which had given so much in her lifetime and had showered so many with its blessings, finally stopped. Obituary: NEW IBERIA - Memorial Services will be conducted for Rev. Johnny Louis Ward, age 81, at 2:00 pm , 2, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Delcambre. Interment will be held in Monroe at Kilpatrick Serenity Garden privately at a later date. A native of Monroe, LA and resident of New Iberia, Rev. Ward passed away at 7:00 pm on, , 28, 2015 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical . Rev. Ward served as Pastor of First Baptist Church in Delcambre for the past 16 years. He loved reading the bible, fellowship with his church members and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed woodworking and fishing. His ministry will leave behind a legacy for many years to come. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Nadine Thomas Ward of New Iberia; two daughters, Dana Susan Howser and Jennifer Dawn McCain and husband James; two sons, John David Bubba Ward and wife Tracey and Daniel Wayne Danny Ward and wife Sherri; six grandchildren; one great grandchild; two step daughters, Peggy Wade and Gwen Romero and one step son, James McCain; four step grandchildren; eight step great grandchildren and one step great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Theodore Ward and Eileen Ruark Ward and two sisters, Jeri Adams and Lois Shumacher. Obituary: Rusty left this world peacefully on 15th at 12:40 a.m., at the age of 53. As a self employed painter of 25 years, he enjoyed all of the joys of life as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a resident of Simmesport, LA and a native of New Roads, LA. Visiting at Greenoaks in Baton Rouge, LA on 19, 2012 from 5pm until 9pm and resume on 20, 2012 from 8am until servive at 12:00pm, conducted by Pastor Timmy Straight. Interment will follow in Chenal . Rusty is survived by his best friend and soul mate, his wife of 31 years, LaLa Ward; his daughter and son-in-law, Cassy and Ronnie Martin of Denham Springs; his son and daughter-in-law, James and Sharon Ward of Saint Francisville; and his 10 beloved grandchildren, Memorie, Reese, Ronnie, Riley and Nicholas Martin; Abigail and Adiel Ward; Kaitlyn and Hunter Teague; and Dylan Handley. He was also survived by his four sisters and brother-in-laws, Patsy and Richard Doucet of Jarreau, Sheila and Jack Self of Morganza, Judy and Ronnie Sproles of Torbert, and Tammy and Doug Bergeron of Jarreau; and one brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Sheila Ward of Jarreau. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Lillie Ward of Jarreau; his two sisters Kathleen and Elizabeth Ward; and many aunts and uncles. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Sproles Jr., Josh Ward, Daryl Smith Jr., Chris David, John Randy David Jr., and Gregory David. Honorary pallbearers are Gary Ward, Richard Doucet Jr., Ronnie Martin, Brandon Bergeron, and Kevin Sproles. |
