Obituary: Milton Shively Wimsatt, 78, of Stanley, passed away on , 21, 2014 at Owensboro Regional Hospital. He was born on 2, 1935 in Daviess Co., KY to the late Oldham Lee and Phyllis Shively Wimsatt. He was retired from farming and was a member of St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church. While attending Owensboro Catholic High School, he met his high school sweetheart and wife of 59 years, Joan. Milton owned and raced thoroughbred horses over the years and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Father Connor Council #6101 and the St. Peter Mens Club. He also had served in the U. S. Army Reserves for a number of years. Milton loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed a good practical joke. He also was preceded in death by a grandson Cpl. Christopher Wimsatt (who served two tours in Iraq) on 16, 2008 and a sister, Margaret Doodlebug Reed. He is survived by his wife, Joan Mehlbauer Wimsatt, four sons, Bryan Wimsatt, Michael (Cathy) Wimsatt, Joey (Felicia) Wimsatt, and David (Tammy) Wimsatt, all of Owensboro, three daughters, Jennifer (Brian) Flaherty, Julie (Ronnie) Mattingly, and Joni Flaherty, all of Owensboro, 16 grandchildren, Jason Terry and Crystal Wimsatt, Luke Cecil and Hunter Flaherty, Jack Wimsatt, Jordan Boswell, and Megan Wimsatt, Ashley Marsh and Sarah Wimsatt, Lauren Keller, Nolan Wimsatt, and Aaron Wimsatt, Madison and Morgan Mattingly, Madeline and Ben Flaherty, four great grandchildren, Samson Marsh, John Edward Keller, Jaycie Howard, and Kavin Main, and two sisters, Jane Mischel of Florida and Faye Booth of Owensboro. Larry was a loving husband, Dad, and Grandpa; he will be missed by all. Larry is preceded in death by his grandson, Tyler Gowers; brothers, George and Jerrell Wimsatt. Obituary: Joyce Marie Stallings Wimsatt, 71, of Owensboro died , 13, 2011 at Owensboro Medical System. She was born in St. Joseph, KY to the late Cleveland Martin (1979) and Mary Frances Hamilton Stallings (2003). She graduated from Mount St Joseph Academy in Maple Mount, KY in 1958 and from the Owensboro School of Practical Nurses in 1963. Mrs. Wimsatt retired from Owensboro Daviess Hospital as a Licensed Practical Nurse after 35 years of service and retired from Kmart after 8 years. She was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband Bernard Joseph Wimsatt in 1982, daughter Paula Ann Wimsatt in 1964, brothers Cary Michael Stallings in 1946 and Kenneth Lawrence Stallings in 2005. Obituary: WIMSATT, CHARLES L. "L.C.," 88, of Louisville, passed from this life on 10, 2010 at Norton Audubon Hospital. He was a native of Springfield, KY, a retired employee of General Electric, a member of St. Ignatius Martyr Catholic Church, and a Army veteran of World War II, where he received a Purple Heart and a Silver and Bronze Star. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Woosley Wimsatt; and three sisters and six brothers. He is survived by his brothers, Charles (Gonza) Wimsatt and Albert Wimsatt; a stepdaughter, Rhu Hayes (Kenton); and five grandchildren. A funeral Mass to celebrate Mr. Wimsatts life will be held at 11 a.m. at St. Ignatius Martyr Catholic Church, 1816 Rangeland Road, with burial to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be from at the Arch L. Heady & Son and Cremation Service, 3601 Taylor Blvd. from 4-8 p.m. . Memorial gifts may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society. | ||||||||||
