Obituary: Thomas C. Big T Wilkerson, 82, of Owensboro passed away peacefully on , 19, 2009 at his home surrounded by family. He was born on Feb. 28, 1927, the third of five children to the late Wallace and Ermina Wilkerson. A member of St. Stephens Catholic Church, he was a veteran of World War II and was honored for his service in 2002 by then-Gov. Paul Patton. He began a career in construction in the 1950s, and it led to his founding of Wilkerson Plastering & Acoustics, Inc. in 1963. He retired in 1993, and the company still operates today. He enjoyed dancing, bird watching, baseball, and woodworking, but he especially loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. In his later years, he also enjoyed spending time at the Elizabeth Munday . Mr. Wilkerson was married twice. He married his first wife, the late Lillian Lois Hamilton Wilkerson in 1952. She passed away in 1976. He married his second wife, Hallie Louise Myles Wilkerson in 1982, and she passed away in 1993. In his later years, he enjoyed the company of Margaret Hall of Owensboro, who was his dancing partner and close friend. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, the late James Bud Wilkerson and Gerald Jerry Wilkerson. Survivors include four daughters, Jolene (Glenn) Harkins, Theresa (Barry) Tichenor, Susie Shouse, and Amy (Bill) Payne, all of Owensboro, five sons, Mike (Lynn) Wilkerson and Perry Wilkerson of Owensboro, Steve (Lori) Wilkerson of Philpot, John (Teri) Wilkerson of Newburgh, IN, and Keith (Krista) Wilkerson of Lexington, KY, a sister, Sr. Theresa Marie Wilkerson of Mt. St. Josephs, two brothers, Robert (Katherine) Wilkerson and John O. (Norma) Wilkerson of Owensboro, a sister-in-law, Phyllis Wilkerson of Calumet City, IL, 19 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Mass will be held on , 22 at St. Stephens Cathedral at 12:05 pm. Visitation will be at Glenn on , 21 from 10 am to 8 pm, prayers will be said at 6 p.m. Visitation will continue on at 8:30 am. Burial will be at Resurrection in Philpot. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren. Obituary: Maple Mount — Sister Theresa Marie Wilkerson, 89, an Ursuline Sister of Mount Saint Joseph, died 27th at Mount Saint Joseph, in her 69th year of religious life. She was a native of Owensboro, born Mary Louise Wilkerson, the daughter of the late James Wallace and Earmena Catherine Hay Wilkerson. Sister Theresa Marie was an outgoing and caring person, who loved to share her gift of singing. An educator for 37 years, she taught at St. William School, Knottsville (1962-67), Trinity High School, Whitesville (1969-70), Owensboro Catholic High School (1970-73), and Mount Saint Joseph Academy, Maple Mount (1973-80). She also taught in the Archdiocese of Louisville and in Nebraska and Missouri. She was Director of Refugees for the Diocese of Owensboro (1980-94), parish minister at St. Stephen Cathedral (1987-97), and chaplain (1994-96) and Eucharistic minister (1994-2004) at Owensboro Daviess Hospital and Owensboro Medical System. Survivors include two brothers, Robert Louis, and John Owen Wilkerson, both of Owensboro; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Wilkerson of Kankakee, IL; nieces and nephews, and the members of her religious community. The funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. , 30, at Mount Saint Joseph, where visitation will begin at 4 p.m., with a wake service following at 6:30 p.m. Glenn , Owensboro, is in charge of arrangements. Obituary: Tabatha Dawn Wilkerson, 22, of Louisville, Kentucky, died , 6, 2007 at her residence. Tabatha graduated from the Kentucky School for the Blind (KSB) in 2003 where she was active in swimming, cheerleading, track and an assistant leader for Girl Scout Troop #2060. She participated in the summer enrichment program at KSB and was a volunteer there. Tabatha was a member of the National Federation for the Blind, won a gold medal in swimming from the Special Olympics, and was a member of a Bowling Team in Louisville. She had worked at L.C. Industries as a machine operator packaging food for the military and was a lifeguard at the YMCA. Tabatha was a beloved angel, a staunch supporter of children with disabilities, a perfect swimmer, an amazing listener, a compulsive nail biter, the best friend, and an awesome sister. She was preceded in death by her aunt, Mary Faye Wilkinson; maternal grandfather, Charles Glenn Wilkerson; paternal grandparents, Ed and Veola Heifner; maternal great grandparents, Aaron and Myrtle Aull and Paul Onis Wilkerson. Survivors include her adoptive parents, Tim and Donna Wilkerson, of Lewisport; her mother, Patricia Harris, of Owensboro; her father, Larry Heifner, of Livermore; siblings, Crystal Chapman and her husband Chad and their son Ashton, of Owensboro; Lisa Wilkerson, of Owensboro; Luke Wilkerson, Michelle Wilkerson, and Bryanna Wilkerson, all of Lewisport and her step-sister, Christina Heifner, of Owensboro; her grandmother, Carol Wilkerson, of Owensboro; grandparents, Vincent and Barbara Brown, of Maceo; her great-grandmother, Evelyn Wilkerson, of Owensboro; aunts and uncles, Terry and Patty Wilkerson, Ray and Debbie Wilkerson, Tony and Kaye Wilkerson, Russell Wilkerson, Steve Wilkerson, George and Juanita Heifner, Don Heifner and Tammy and John Outlaw; and a host of cousins and lots of friends. Services will be held on , 11, at 1:00 p.m. at Sts. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church. Visitation will be held on from 1 until 8 p.m., on from 2 until 8 p.m. and after 10:00 a.m. on at the funeral home. Prayers will be said at 7 p.m. on . Burial will be in Resurrection .
