Obituary: William DuVall Wilson age 87, of Blakesburg, passed away on , 8, 2015, under the care of Initiatives Hospice, at his home in Blakesburg. Bill was born 19, 1927, to William U. and Opal (DuVall) Wilson, on the family farm in Monroe . He attended and graduated from Moravia High School, class of 1944. On 9, 1947, Bill married Freda Wood and to this union a son, Jim was born. shared 67 years on marriage before Bills passing. He farmed in his younger years and later worked at John Deere in Ottumwa, retiring in 1989. Bill was very active in the Blakesburg Community, where he drove a school bus and served on the School Board and Corn Carnival Committees. Bill was a past member of the Lions club. He enjoyed reading, watching NASCAR races, playing cards and bingo. Bills real love was spending time with family and friends. He never know a stranger and loved to visit and tell jokes. Bill is survived by his wife, Freda Wilson; a son, Jim (Debbie) Wilson; and a grandson, Jake Wilson all of Blakesburg. He is also survived by a brother, Jack Wilson of Moravia; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, W.U. and Opal; and his brother, Bob Wilson. A Celebration of Life Service will be held from 1 until 3:00 p.m., , 11, 2015, at the United Methodist Church in Blakesburg. A private family burial will be held at a later date. A memorial has been established to the United Methodist Church in Blakesburg or to Initiatives Hospice of Albia. |

Obituary: William Dean Wilson, 67 of Kelley, Iowa, passed away surrounded by his family on , May 13, 2014 at Iowa Methodist Medical in Des Moines, Iowa. Visitation will be , May 15 from 5:00-8:00 pm at Fjeldberg Lutheran Church in Huxley, Iowa. services will be , May 16 at 10:30 am at Fjeldberg Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove south of Ames. Bill was born in Algona, Iowa on 15, 1946 to Clyde and Marilyn (McClain) Wilson. He graduated from Ballard High School in 1964, and continued his education while he attended the University of Northern Iowa. taking two years off from college to serve in the Marine Corps, Bill came back to Iowa and married Peggy Severson on 27, 1969. He went on to graduate from the University of Northern Iowa in 1970 with a bachelors degree in Industrial Technology. Bill worked for Oscar Meyer in Davenport and Perry, American Packaging in Story City, and for Mary Greeley Medical in Ames before retiring in of 2011. Bill enjoyed watching his nine grandchildrens activities, farming, golf, sports card collecting, and traveling (especially cruising). Bill also enjoyed ushering for Iowa State football games for approximately 40 years. He was a member of Fjeldberg Lutheran Church in Huxley, the American Legion, the Marine Corps League, and the Ballard Golf and Country Club. Bill is survived by his wife of 44 years, Peggy, their three children, Matthew (Erin) of Slater and grandchildren Cole, Cade and Carley; Marc (Diana) of Johnston and grandchildren Joe, Aubrey and Mick, and Melanie (Nic) Hermann of Huxley and grandchildren Ashton, Jaxon and Kya; his mother, Marilyn Wilson of Kelley, his brother John (Shannan) Wilson of Laguna Niguel, California, and his three sisters, Shirley (Everett) Ihle and Connie (Don) Harris, both of Huxley, and Barb (Steve) Kaltenheuser of Kelley; brother and sister-in-laws, Dennis and Sue Severson and Sharyn and Mark Erickson both of Huxley, Becky and Mike Long of Ankeny, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde Wilson of Kelley. |
