Obituary: Elizabeth Wheeler died 29, 2011 at Bethel Manor , Evansville. She was born Dec. 8, 1926, to the late Ferdinand and Borgia Hayden of Owensboro, Ky., the oldest of 10 children in the devout Catholic family. She graduated from St. Francis Academy, the predecessor of Owensboro Catholic High School, and attended nurses training at St Josephs Infirmary in Louisville, Ky. She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Robert Wheeler, and two brothers, Anthony Hayden and Otto Hayden, both of Owensboro. Elizabeth and her husband, Robert, raised four children on Colonial Avenue in Evansville. The Wheelers were one of the founding families of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Evansville, where Elizabeth was active in the Altar Society, PTA and preparation of the monthly dinners. She was an excellent seamstress and ran a home-based business making drapes and slipcovers while her children were young. She often found practical uses for the remnants, making clothes out of the drape material for her daughters, like Scarlet OHara. She also did alterations for Gordons Clothing Store in North Park Shopping and then was in charge of alterations for DeJongs in North Park and downtown. She is survived by two daughters, Sheila Schenk (Steve) of Mt Vernon, IN, and Janice Wheeler of Germantown, Md.; two sons, Bob Wheeler (Janet) of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Bruce Wheeler (Linda) of St. Philips; six grandchildren, Tracy (Jason) Damer, Heather (Drew) Allen, John Schenk, Edward Schenk, Paul Wheeler and Stephanie Wheeler; and two great-grandchildren, Abby and Alex Damer; four brothers, Francis Hayden (Skippy), and Donald Hayden (Mary Teresa), both of Owensboro; Larry Hayden of Louisville; and Dennis Hayden (Sharon Ann) of Frankfort, Ind.; three sisters, Mary Rita (Sonny) Nix of Poseyville, Ind., Theresa Hayden of Louisville, and Sharon (Darrell) Payne of Owensboro; four sisters-in-law, Faith McDaniels of National City, California and Betty Wheeler, Doris Haragan, and Ethel (Fran) Watrous all of Owensboro. Mass will be held at 10:00 AM , 2, 2011 at St. Phillips Catholic Church, officiated by Rev. Tom Kessler with burial at St. Joseph . Friends may visit from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Alexander North Chapel and on from 9:00 AM until service time at the church. The family would like to thank Bethel Manor for the loving care that our mother received over the years. Thanks, also, to the Heritage Hospice for their care and concern. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Phillips Catholic Church or Heritage Hospice. |

Obituary: Eldon Maurice Wheeler, 86, of Belle Union, passed away on , 13, 2015. He was born on 6, 1929 in Belle Union to James Austin Wheeler and Alda Rose Butler Wheeler. As a teenager, he received Salvation and became a member of Union Valley Baptist Church in Belle Union. He was a 1947 graduate of Belle Union High School. Eldon had been employed at the Omar Bakery, and retired from IBM where he worked as a dispatcher and in accounting and payroll. He was preceded in death by his parents; father and mother - in-law, Verlin and Dorothy Scott; a sister, Betty Nichols; a brother, Fred Wheeler; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Scott Keller. Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Betty Louise Scott Wheeler; his children, Sandra Sue Garner and husband Charlie of Plainfield, Carla Marie Stierwalt and husband Phil of Belle Union and Eldon Neill Wheeler and wife Kim of Mooresville; a brother, Jack Wheeler and wife Linda of Cloverdale; five grandchildren, Phillip Neill Stierwalt and wife Maria of Danville, Jeremy Stierwalt and wife Amy of Parrish, FL, Angela Gibbs of Indianapolis, Megan Garner of Jackson, KY, and Ian Neill Wheeler of Mooresville; five step-grandchildren, Justin Allbright of San Jose, CA, Grace Allbright of Mooresville, Joshua Allbright and wife Amber of Indianapolis, Chris Garner and wife Jenny of Noblesville and Felicia Francis of McCordsville; two great-grandchildren, Olivia Stierwalt of Danville, Liam Stierwalt of Danville; six step-great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Ancel Keller; a brother and sister-in-law, James and Janice Jester; several nieces and nephews. services will be held on , 17, 2015 at 1 PM at Bittles and Hurt , with Pastor Joshua Fitzsimmons officiating. Obituary: South Bend – Clyde W. Wheeler, 69, of Elkhart, Indiana, passed away on , 23, 2016. Clyde, was born 19th, 1947, in Bozeman, Montana to Edwin L. and Lois N. Wheeler. On May 9th 2003, he married Lynn Law (Wheeler), who survives. Also surviving are two sons and a daughter, Troy Wheeler and his wife Kim of Austin, Texas, Melissa Wheeler of Meridian, Idaho and Jeff Wheeler and his wife Liza of Beaverton, Oregon, three grandchildren, Nicholas Wheeler of Boise, Idaho and Koby and McKenna Wheeler of Austin Texas, his two brothers, Ryan and wife Lynn and Rodney Wheeler all of Idaho and a niece Rachael Davey of California and a nephew Aaron Wheeler of Idaho and many loving family members and friends. Clyde was a 1965 graduate of Culter Academy in Los Angeles, CA and graduated from Boise State University with a degree in Accounting. Clyde was passionate about, and some might say addicted to, his career, one that spanned over 49 years and ranged from corporate accounting, finance, entrepreneurship and executive leadership activities across a variety of industries. Clyde even spent 3 years as a high school English and Business teacher in a needy community in rural Idaho, a time he looked back on fondly. For the last 12 years Clyde served as the Chief Financial Officer of the Gurley-Leep Automotive group, and in that time they became part and parcel of the family too. Most recently he was heard saying Im having more fun in my career right now than at any time before needless to say he left work on what would be his last day, with a smile and solid sense of accomplishment, something he valued very much. As one would expect, Clyde instilled a strong work ethic in those around him, and was the poster child for a work hard play hard mentality. He spent many an hour with family and friends on one of his many boats, playing golf, basketball, and ping-pong in the backyard, and spending time at the beach or in the mountains with his kids, grandkids and loving wife. Clyde surrounded himself with his own cloud of fun. In 2002 he met the love of his life and a true soulmate, Lynn Law. Since that first day they have been inseparable. Lynn changed Clyde for the better in numerous ways, and Clyde was blessed to have her unwavering and undivided love, attention, companionship and support, and for that we are all grateful. Visitation will be held from 10:00 -11:00 AM, with a memorial service from 11:00-12:00 PM, , 1, 2016, at the Kaniewski , 3545 N. Bendix Drive. Obituary: Charlotte Michael Wheeler, 95, of Evansville, passed away , 21, 2015, at Evansville Protestant . She was born 30, 1920, in Oblong, IL, to the late Roy and Grace (Shryock) Morris. She was employed by Marathon Oil Co. in Robinson, IL for 25 years. retirement, she worked part time for seven and a half years at Florida Federal in St. Petersburg, FL and as an insurance underwriter. Charlotte enjoyed knitting crocheting, reading, and gardening. She spent the last years under the loving care of Mark and Susie Michael, as well as with her devoted little companion Sunny. Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents; first husband of 23 years, Vaughn Michael; second husband of nine years; Waldo Wheeler; son, Keith Michael; step-son, James Wheeler; and grandson, Alan Wheeler. She is survived by her son, Mark (Susie) Michael of Evansville; daughter, Cynthia (Mike) Schoeppel of Murphysboro, IL; daughter-in-law, Karen Sue Michael of Granbury, TX; step-daughter, Virginia (Pat) Baxter, of Avon, IN; step-son, Wallace (Marrianna) Wheeler of Avon, IN; step-daughter-in-law, Beverly Wheeler of St. Louis, MO; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
