Obituary: Nellie E. Watson, 96, Anderson, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on May 2, 2015 at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital. She was born 27, 1918, in Anderson, the daughter of the late Harry M & Hazel Dell (McCord) Cook. She was a 1936 graduate of Anderson High School and 1957 graduate of Ball State Teacher . She retired from Anderson Community School after many years of teaching Kindergarten and 3rd grade at Forrest Hills and Washington Schools. Nellie was a member of Central Christian Church and very active in many organizations including Order of Eastern Star Chapter #154 and Elks Lodge. She is survived by her two daughters, Diana Johnson and Sharolyn Barnett both of Anderson; three grandchildren, Greg (Claudia) Johnson of Anderson, Tim Johnson of Anderson and Angela DeHaven of Noblesville; six great grandchildren,. Kelsey (Stephen) Conrad, Lindsey DeHaven, Tristan DeHaven, Eli DeHaven, Jessica (Ryan) Pepmeier and Emily Johnson; three great great grandchildren, Blakely, Sawyer and Owen; nephews and nieces, Dan (Patty) Johnson, Dennis (Susan) Johnson, Connie Hopp and LeAnn (Dan) Key. She was preceded in death by her husband and a sister, Charles O. Watson and Martha Johnson. A special thanks to the nurses and staff on the 6th floor at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital. Obituary: Mary Lou Watson, age 93, of Evansvilles West Side, passed away on , 15, 2014, at Pine Haven , due to complications of old age. She was born in Elkton KY, on 6, 1921, the daughter of Pascal Onan Stokes and Cora Helen (Salmon) Stokes. Mary Lou eloped with Robert Lee (Bob) Watson on 23, 1938. On that day, they travelled from Elkton to Russellville, KY, where they were married by Bobs cousin, an ordained Methodist minister. remained married for over 75 years, raised three children, and passed from this life within months of one another. Mary Lou was an active School teacher, as well as a counselor for many years at the Santa Claus summer youth camp. She was a Gold Lady volunteer, with thousands of hours of service at Evansville State Hospital. She was one of the organizers of the Gavel Club, which took hospital patients on monthly outings to dinners sponsored by area churches and civic organizations. She and her husband were life-long members of the Gideons International and together they distributed tens of thousands of the New Testament to students, soldiers and others. Mary Lou and Bob loved to square dance, hosting weekly dances for many years in the hand-hewn timber-framed barn on the family farm. During World War II, she worked at Republic Aviation building P-47 Thunderbolt fighters. Although not an official Rosie the Riveter she did deliver and distribute all the rivets used. Mary Lou worked in retail at the Main Street location of the Evansville Store and Hamburgs. Later, she was a dental hygienist for many years, working for Dr. Bishop, Dr. Hopkins and Dr. Rheinlander. Mary Lou is preceded in death by her husband, Bob, who passed in , 2014. She is also preceded in death by two infant siblings, Verbie and Lawrence Stokes; three additional siblings who lived to adulthood, Orphie Florence Stokes, Forrest Garfield Stokes and Morris Hubert Stokes; as well as one granddaughter, Mary Rebecah Sutton. She is survived by her three children, Nancy L. Montgomery, widow of Wayne E. Montgomery, of Evansville, IN, Bettye Sheppard, widow of Victor Sheppard, of Lake Havasu City, AZ, and Robert Stephen (Steve) Watson, Ph.D. and wife Zell Watson, of Brooklyn , NY. Also, Mary is survived by 6 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was among the finest of mothers and a devoted and loving wife. She worked tirelessly for her family, her church and for the downtrodden. May her beloved soul rest in eternal peace. Services will be held at 11:00 AM, , 19, 2014, at Old North United Methodist Church, 4201 Stringtown Road, Evansville, officiated by Rev. Mike Monahan with entombment at Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit , 4-8 PM, at Alexander North Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Old North United Methodist Church or Gideons International. Obituary: Martenia Sharon Tina Watson, 72, of Kokomo went to Heaven at 9:20 p.m. on , May 1, 2015 at her home with her family by her side. Tina was born on 3, 1943 in Kokomo to the late Gerald E. and Maxine Davis Snow. She married Ralph Louie Watson on 2, 1962 at Bible Baptist Church. Tina was a full time wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She served as Co-President and secretary of the Delco Promenades Square Dance Club and was a member of the Judson Road Christian Church. She attended Kokomo and Prairie High School. Tina is survived by her husband of 53 years, Ralph Louie Watson; daughters, Angela and Mark Oglesby of Nashville, TN and Annette Barrett of Indianapolis; 5 grandsons, Jesse, Josh, Matt, Corey Oglesby and Kody Barrett; 2 great-grandsons; 3 great-granddaughters; sister, Carolyn Wallace of IL; and many more friends and family. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel with Dr. Gary Carpenter officiating. Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Sunset Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
