Obituary: Robert L. Watson 74, of Marquette Heights, passed away 20, 2015. Born 12, 1941 in Peoria, Ill. the son of Howard L. and Edith (Stroupe) Watson; he married Sharon A. Reeder May 11, 1985 in Peoria and she preceded him in death May 8, 2012. Surviving are his children, Tonya (Trent) Alexander o f East Peoria, Shawn W. (Staci) Watson of Hutchinson, KS, Robert L. Watson of Pekin and Kelley (Mike) Finck of Chillicothe; step-sons Shane (Donna) Wagnaar of Courtland, IL and John (Kim) Wagnaar of Kansas City, KS; one sister, Janice Watson of El Paso, IL, 18 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Robert was a US Army Veteran and enjoyed a career with the Peoria Police Department, retiring after 32 years with the rank of Sergeant. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Marquette Heights. He was also a Green Bay Packers fan and enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. Graveside rites will be held at 10:00 am , 24, 2015 at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria with Military Honors rendered by the US Army. Memorials may be made to the Peoria Police Benevolent Association or to the St. Jude Midwest Affiliate. |

Obituary: PEKIN ~ Richard E Watson, 86, of Pekin, passed away at 10:02 p.m., , 27, 2015 at Grand View in Peoria. Richard was born 9, 1928 in Spring Lake Township, Tazewell to Louis O. and Jennie (Hundt) Watson. He married Mahala Huber on 11, 1955 in Pekin. She preceded him in death on May 8, 1976. He married Rosemary (Earhart) Eilks on 28, 1978. Surviving are his wife Rosemary, of Pekin; three children, Scott (Marcy) Watson of Chesterfield, MO, Lauri (Doug) Sea of Omaha, NE and Wanda Watson of Arlington Heights, IL; two step children, Annette (Bob) Brown of Havana, IL and Kevin (Carrie) Eilks of Green Ridge, MO; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Also surviving are a sister in-law, Georgia Watson of Pekin, two sisters, Wanda Clough of San Clemente, CA and Rose Watson of CA, and one brother, Dale Watson of Pekin. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Don Watson and a sister, Wilma Schappaugh. A 1946 graduate of Pekin Community High School, Richard worked for Will Harms Co., as well as Maurie’s in Pekin, before he began working at Pekin Insurance in 1954 as a machine operator in the statistical department. He was later named supervisor of the same department. He was subsequently promoted to Manager of Data Processing, Vice President of Systems and Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer before his retirement from Pekin Insurance in 1989. He was an avid golfer, and a longtime fan of St. Louis Cardinal Baseball. He also loved wood working, lawn and landscape work and doing home projects. Richard was a member and president of the Central Illinois Insurance Accounting and Statistical Association. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Pekin, and a member of the Pekin Country Club, where he formerly served on the Board of Governors. He also served on the Data Processing Advisory Committee of Illinois Central . A private family service will be held at Preston-Hanley s & Crematory in Pekin, with the Rev. James McClarey and Rev. Judy Doyle officiating. There will be no visitation. Inurnment will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Obituary: Paul R. Watson, 91 of Peoria, passed away at 10:00 AM on 22, 2012, at Rosewood in Peoria. He was born on 31, 1920 in Roseville, IL, the son of Sidney Rexford (Rex) and Lucy Pratt Watson. He married Marjorie E. Elliott on 12, 1945 in Monmouth. She preceded him in death on 24, 2007. Paul is survived by two sons Gregg (Katherine) Watson of Bloomington, IL and Douglas (Janyce) Watson of Springfield, IL; one daughter Julie Watson of Peoria; five Grandsons Andrew (Jaclyn) Watson of Springfield, Thomas (Claire) Watson of Greenville, SC, Joshua (Elizabeth) Watson of Springfield, Timothy (Christine) Watson of Lombard, and Eric Watson of University City, MO; five Great Grandchildren, Colin, Paul, Liam, Charlie, and Sophie Watson; one nephew and two nieces. Besides Marjorie, he was preceded in death by his parents, one Great Grandson, Noah Watson, a Brother-in-Law and a Sister-in-Law. An Army Air Force veteran of WWII, Paul was a 1st Lieutenant and a navigator aboard a B-26 in the European Theatre (England and France). He served his country from 6, 1940 to 15, 1945. Paul was a 1947 graduate from Monmouth , where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry. He started at the Northern Regional Laboratory (Ag Lab) in Peoria in 1947 and worked there until he retired in 1983. He was the secretary of their retiree group from 1994 to 2011. He was a member of the American Chemical Society for over 50 years. He was also a member of the Peoria Astronomical Society. Paul was a kind, thoughtful, and loving person. He will be truly missed. He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church. He headed the Share Food Program there and at Arcadia Presbyterian Church for 14 years. He had been an Elder at Arcadia Presbyterian Church. Services will be held at 10:30 AM on 28, 2012 at the United Presbyterian Church in Peoria. The Rev. Dr. Randall Saxon will officiate. A visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:30 AM prior to the service. Graveside services will be at 1:00 PM on at Roseville in Roseville, IL. Memorials may be made to the United Presbyterian Church, 2400 West Northmoor Rd., Peoria, IL 61614-3343.
