He was a member of Toccoa First Baptist Church and was a United States Army Veteran. Mr. Williams retired from Tabor Motor and was a cattle farmer. Family members include nephews, Gary J. Obituary: A memorial service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church on , 13, 2014 at 11 a.m. for Mr. Williams, who passed away on , 9, 2014 in the Medical of Central Georgia. The family will receive friends in the Parish Hall after the service. The son of Troup Lock and Thelma Sirmons Williams, Wallace will be remembered as owner and operator of Williams Packing and Williams Farm and Peach Orchard. He also served as a substitute mail carrier and packed parachutes at Robins Air Force Base. He was a Navy Veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Williams was former Senior Warden at Trinity Episcopal Church, former chairman of the Bleckley Board of Education and a former member of the Bleckley Tax Assessors Board. Wallace loved Georgia Tech football and square dancing, but his passion was golf. He enjoyed playing at The Woods Golf Course; he also helped establish Uchee Trail Golf Club. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sharon Black Williams, four children, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Children are Gwen (Randy) Young, Cochran; Paige (Randy) Coogle, Eastman; Paul (Machelle) Williams, Lexington, Kentucky; and Wallace Edwin (Monica) Williams, Jr., Leesburg. Grandchildren are Will and Wes (Robin) Young, Maisie (Nick) Law, Meggie (Chad) Hendley, Paul Coogle, Brittany and Blake Williams, Gabby Helms and Robert Lock Williams. Great-grandchildren are Faith and Jayla Wilson and Phin Hendley. Nieces are Wrella (Malton) Purser, Rev. Joy Fisher and nephew, Scotty (Peggi) Horne. Obituary: Mr. John L. Williams, 78, of Adel, Georgia passed away 13, 2013 at South Georgia Medical in Valdosta following a sudden illness. He was born 23, 1934 in Lowndes to the late Asa Grady Williams and Pearlie Ruth Register Williams. Mr. Williams lived most of his life in Cook where he was a member of the Adel United Methodist Church, The Roundtable, Masons and Shrine. A visionary and an astute businessman, John L. founded his company business on I-75 in 1963 in Cecil, Georgia. In 1973, he moved his business headquarters, Williams Investment , to Adel where he opened the King Frog. Over the years, the family operated business also expanded into Lowndes and Tift Counties, and is the second oldest Tourism business established on I-75 in the nation today. John L. was a great father, grandfather, and friend. He loved traveling and socializing with his family and friends, his coffee club and supper club, and was a great conversationalist. His businesses were also his hobbies, as he thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the development of them. He enjoyed working and visiting many of them daily. He considered his employees his family as well, and will be sorely missed by us all. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Joyce McCrary Williams; and his sister, Vesta W. Thurmond. Mr. Williams is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Debi and Paul Mac McNeal; his sons and daughters-in-law: Rick and Emily Williams, Mike and Deane Williams all of Valdosta, Georgia; Steve and Lynn Williams of Adel; his grandchildren: Andrew McNeal, Josh McNeal, John Williams, Matthew Williams all of Valdosta, Jamie Williams of Atlanta, Georgia; Thomas Williams and Kaysie Williams of Valdosta and Candace Williams of Adel; one Great Grandson, Cooper Michael Williams of Valdosta; and a special niece Dianne Mathis Stith.
