Obituary: Ruth Esther Woolums was born 31, 1927 in Cardington, Ohio to Alva V and Gertrude Thomas as one of eight children. One of her older sisters died at a young age from appendicitis. She went home to be with her Lord and Savior morning, 6, 2016 at Manor . She married her sweetheart Daniel Woolums and was married for 55 years until his passing on 24, 2007. She is survived by her five children: son David Woolums and wife Rita, daughter Rebecca Randolph and husband Dave, daughter Carolyn Kuntz and husband Rick, son Robert Woolums and wife Georgia, and daughter Pamela Rader. She is survived by 3 brothers and 2 sisters. One of her brothers has predeceased her. Ruth has 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. Ruth worked as a waitress at Guider’s Restaurant on Clearwater Beach for many years until she and Dan went into the business of making cabinetry. She retired from cabinet making after Dan had a major stroke at which time they moved from Springhill to Dunedin. Her services will be held on , 15, with a burial service at 2:00 p.m. at Sylvan Abbey on Sunset Point Road and a celebration of her life at 6:30 p.m. at Bayside Community Church of God located at 3380 S.R. 580 in Safety Harbor. In honor of Ruth’s love for children and the care that was provided to her grandson upon his premature birth for three months until he was allowed to go home, donations are being requested to be sent to All Children’s Hospital in her memory. |
